very disappointed. First thing was there was NO lights on the front of the player. You could not see even if the unit was playing? Second after playing a movie with no issues and then later try to play a movie or even eject it there was no power to the unit using the remote or the panel buttons? I had to unplug the unit to get it to restart and play. finally it started to skip on a movie that was just played without any problems? I cant take this.

Sony should probably stick to Amplifiers and Speakers. Ive had both, and have been quite satisfied with both. I took delivery and used, for no more than a week when my Sony UBP-X800 UBP-X80 started having problems. Would power up. When it would, I couldnt open the tray. When the tray would open, I couldnt get it to close. No, its wasnt the Remote Controller. Eventually, it would only power up. I will say, the refund/return process was as good as it can get.

On the surface it looks great. Easy to setup, but on playback it freezes like it is buffering. Does this a few times then locks up. Occurs on every 4K DVD that I tried. From research, I have done after this happened, this is not an isolated issue. Sony Customer Support was absolutely no help.

The 4k her part was fine ,everything with it was just fine, except for the DVD player itself, the picture would become fuzzy when paused, quite frequently the picture would go blank for no reason, no sound , no picture no anything. The only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of one is because it actually does support 4k pictures when it works. Otherwise a piece of junk.

Video glitches/locking up over a couple finger prints!, issues with not turning on, manual or by remote, I had to unplug re-plug to get it to work, now its telling me it can"t read the disk that I may need to clean the disk, and Ive tried several disk/movies even after running a video disk cleaner it still wont read!!! And I have the latest firmware update.

This worked great up until a few days ago and now my tv says “No Signal” when I try to play it. I reconnected it via different 4K HDMI inputs and still says “No Signal.” I googled it and TONS of people have this problem with this particular unit and NO ONE can figure out how to fix it. A $200 brick on my hands.

Fabulous player with beautiful picture on a 4K TV. I live in Australia so had to use a US>Oz adaptor and now I can watch my US region DVD’s. Delivery from Amazon was fast and efficient.

The video quality of up-scaling to 4k is unbelievable. We have a 4k TV and this player even makes a difference at that. DVDs look great. Blu-rays are even better. Beats my old Blu-ray player like crazy. It also plays all audio discs including SACD, USB input and plays Ultra HD Blu-ray. Its definitely worth the extra money. Dont to forget to use the included ultra high speed HDMI cables. They seem to make a difference too.

I bought this primarily for SACD playback. I rarely watch BluRay movies. Both audio and video sections in this player are very good. Please read the manual as you perform initial setup as it will save you some headaches. Ive owned the player over a month now with zero issues. I would recommend to anyone.

Order on 2nd March. Received it on 5th! Really fast delivery! The player is build like a tank. Blu ray cds are read really fast. Highly recommended
