This is a great player for the price, not the best but I will rate it 5 Stars for its ability to playback PAL video format DVDs that are Region 0 (ALL). It will also play some of my Region 2 DVDs but not many, only a few. It has an excellent PAL~NTSC converter. I dont notice any ghosting. Upconversion is excellent overall but not all discs are agreeable. I had to replace some DVDs with their Bluray counterparts to make them watchable but it is a rare thing. Unfortunately this player will not recognize my beloved MP3 CDs & DVDs of classic radio programs. Disappointing. Ive been using this player for the 4K and some other screenshots for my Amazon reviews. It froze up twice during some extensive image searching while in HDR mode, it had to be unplugged. This is the only issue so far. Its been flawless otherwise. I dont care for the annoying pause (II) symbol displayed at the bottom of the screen, it doesnt seem to time out. There are no image quality adjustment options like other players, another annoyance. Playback is very quiet, noise has never been an issue. FUNAI manufactures this model and the PHILIPS BDP 5502, they are virtual twins but the 5502 has more Audio outputs. There is a MAGNAVOX variant of this player also, it looks to be identical but Im not familiar with it. I havent tried streaming anything with this player, I have no need for that. The remote control is toy sized, about 4 inches long. It takes moderate effort to press the buttons. The disc tray is flimsy and the red power LED is a little bright. I put a translucent sticker over mine and can still see it! I bought mine at the local WalMart, they have many and are selling at a good clip. The Peoples Player, 4K for The Masses? Amazing what promotion can do. Maybe it is who you know. *I want to say something to ALL manufacturers of Bluray disc players- THE TIME OF REGION CODING IS OVER! Yes, we have gone from a number of DVD regions to 3 for Blurays and now NONE for 4K Blurays! MAKE THIS RETROACTIVE! Every player should be MULTI REGION, or at the very least an OEM option. All the Profits have been made, now is the time for FREEDOM OF CHOICE! Give Consumers what we want, it is asinine to limit the inherent abilities of our players. REGION FREE NOW

Cant believe that a 4K player is at this price. No frills player. 4K picture is out of this world. Little tip to be able to decode DTS !! Out of the box it will only send PCM audio to your surround sound receiver. Youll never hear the beauty of surround sound UNLESS you go in the settings and in AUDIO.... SELECT HDMI to BITSTREAM!!! You will lose the voice assistance thing; but thats not what I bought this player for. I want to hear the real movie sound track!! And you do not need high-dollar HDMI cable either!!!

Slow loading, and the voice prompts are weird, but it plays 4K videos well. Like it becksuse it doesn’t have all the extras you pay mire for in other brands that most people already have in either their TV or other media player. Strictly a 4K player, and does just that.

I hesitated to buy it until I saw a video of its characteristics. For the price I did not believe in those features until I plugged it in and started watching movies.

What I like the most it’s a great picture on my 4K and it matches the competition with less cost. Yes it comes with a remote smaller than a wallet. Simple but Sweeeeet.

I bought this to use with a 4k Samsung TV. I am happy with the player and the picture quality. 4k is awesome. One negative, the remote is very small. If you have big hands, pressing the buttons is a challenge. The buttons are very close together. I have a universal remote that I will program to use, so no huge deal. Altogether, good player for the price.

I bought this DVD player not really expecting much. It was considerably cheaper than the "name brand" players. I have been surprised by the performance. Set-up was easy as it is with most players. Load time is faster than some of the more expensive DVD Blu-Ray players that I have owned. It has voice available that tells you what the player is doing and the picture is fantastic. Other reviews have mentioned the small, crowded buttons on the remote. The remote is small and the buttons are close together. I have short, stubby fingers but the spacing has not been a problem for me but I do have to pay more attention when I push a button. The buttons are responsive and dont take much pressure to push. This player also plays pretty much any DVD from true 4K to non-region.

Terrible. I purchased this and received it the beginning of Feb and it has stopped working consistently....it states disc not supported (although its a movie its played before) or it continues to skip or not even start a brand new disc (no scratche).....its very frustrating and I would not recommend this junk to anyone
