I love it! This blu ray/DVD player is small! Compact and word very well! The first movie I tested on it ran smoothly, the remote is also small and compact and responds very well! The player responds well to the remote and is exactly what I look for with Sony products. This is my first bluray player and I absolutely fell in love with it. Great for living rooms, and bedrooms. The packaging was small, but I like how compact it is. It dosnt require a lot of extra room. If your looking at getting a bluray player I highly suggest getting this one! The seller sent this in a timely manner and arrived right when it was supposed to. If you are considering this product for your family, a gift, or own personal space I would highly suggest getting such top quality for such a decent price!

A very basic BluRay player but it gets the job done. No issues to speak of and would recommend if you need it for a guest room or not as your main DVD player. **I bought this product at FULL PRICE. No discounts for me! Just a regular customer like you, looking for honest reviews that arent swayed by getting free or discounted swag.**

I have a tv with limited HDMI outlets and I have trouble with the ROKU players failing as soon as the warranty is done or as soon as the company quits supporting the model. This plays dvds, plays movies from external hard drive using and plays Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu and Youtube pluse others I dont use.

The "certified refurbished" unit is DOA. I tried it with two separate tvs and two separate hdmi cables. Im not sure what certification process is used, but its poor. Im returning this week and Im just bummed I had to spend 30 minutes of my weekend fooling with it.

This does not connect to WIFI, and therefore cannot be used with Netflix at all. I was going to send it back until I realized they were only going to give me half (not even) of my money back! It has been sitting in my closet ever since! Waste of money.

Good: This was a good deal on a blu-ray player with streaming. The Sony site will give you the full manual (I had to go to Sony for it - as the manual link provided with the insert sheet didnt have it). With the simple code from the manual, the small remote can easily control my Panasonic TV. The prominent Netflix button is easy for the kids, and the wired network connection works well in my setup. The setup menus are mostly clear and intuitive. Less Good: Id prefer being able to re-map the Sony Entertainment Network button (just as prominent as the Netflix one, but useless unless you subscribe to Sonys service). Not happy with the home network streaming, as it really doesnt like some video formats - avi, mpeg-1, and some phone videos play but are very blocky and pixelated. I have a Samsung bluray, about the same year (2014/15), with similar features that plays these files clear as a bell. Setup, as least regarding picture output, is much simpler & more automated on the Samsung - but some might prefer having the extra manual control offered by this Sony. In summary - a bit disappointed in the home network video performance, but I really cant complain for a blu-ray player with lots of streaming features for less than 50 bucks.

Not worth the risk. Ive had it for 3 months at my like house. We have probably watched 4 movies on it. It quit working last week. Speakers pop and it wont track the disc. Yes the disk is good and yes I tried it on different movies. We had to go to a different tv and player to finish the movie. I wont do this again. DVD players are not that expensive. Now I have to add the cost of this one to the new one I just bought. The warranty was for 30 days.

Got a refurb model of this when my second Samsung Blu Ray in a row bit the dust prematurely. This Sony (which to be fair, is a newer model then either of my old Samsungs) boots up faster, has a cleaner interface, and generally feels more responsive. I havent had any problems with the refurb. And if hadnt been for the fact that retail box was a little dinged up when it got to me, Id never have known it was a refurb. It has a very small footprint in our entertainment center.

I got this bought Blu Ray player to for the living room. And its perfect. Its small compact and best of all its USB port reads photos or videos from the USB. I both 2 others that didnt. Our family is very happy with our purchase.

I am highly impressed with this device. It seems brand new and works great, with the exception of having intermittent issues with the internet connectivity.That and you need to remove from favorites some of the preloaded apps like FeelN. They are not my favorites, and I do not care of they are yours. It does work well though and the layout for Amazon is nicer than most.
