A very nice, high quality DVD player. The unit was dead simple to hook up with the included high speed HDMI cable (required cables are rarely provided by manufacturers and vendors of A/V equipment, this is a very nice touch on the part of the vendor). The first power on and setup couldnt be easier - the only thing you have to do is enter your Wi Fi password if you are using Wi Fi. You can also hook it up using a Cat 5 cable. The first power on takes a minute or two and you are then prompted to install a software update. Just select "continue" and go pour a cup of tea while the update installs - about 5 minutes in my case. And then you are ready to go. Upsides: gorgeous picture even for standard (non Blu Ray) DVDs. Comes with a lot of Streaming services installed. Setup couldnt be simpler - everything you need to set this up is in the box; no last minute dash to the store for batteries or video cables. The remote can be programmed to a few brands of televisions. I can think of only a couple of very minor Downsides: The opening screen is pretty cluttered with a large number of streaming services and you have to use the down button to get down to play your DVD - not a huge deal. And you can delete them off if you wish. Also, the instructions are pretty sparse, but this player is so easy to set up and use, you really dont need them. However, the instruction sheet is pretty emphatic about making sure you have all connections made before hooking up the power, so I would be careful to follow that advice. I wish the remote were slightly larger so the buttons werent so close together (I especially dislike the large dedicated "Netflix" button right next to the Play and Fast Forward buttons which is easy to hit by mistake). My Downsides are pretty minor and you wont go wrong in a nice Blu Ray player at this very reasonable price.

Super easy set up which was important to a tech challenged person like me. It took ten minutes from plug in to set up and that included adding channels. UPDATE - The wireless started to fail after just a few weeks of use. I had to return and hook up my Roku again which has an excellent wireless with no problems at all. Disappointed...

It worked only 1 time .... right after I got it. Was gone for a month, came back and went to use it. Dead, no function. On light shows .... cant turn off or open the tray. Rebooted several times, changed the batteries on the remote. Nothing. Made cheaply, poor quality control.

I wanted something small and a good price without breaking the bank. I’ve only had it a couple weeks now so this review could be a bit early to really know but I’m planing to keep it Pros Showed up fast hook up was easy found the WiFi connection as soon as I turned it on plays well without glitches It is small, love the size Con’s Loud, sounds like it’s a washing machine spinning out of balance but I have it on a wood shelf so I plan to put a rubber pad between it and the shelf in hopes it will quiet it down I’m not impressed with the remote. It works but poor set up. From what I can see it may be a Sony thing not exclusive to this player With all that said I would recommend it. I would not give it 5 stars but I would give it 4 and a half if I could

Both Blu-Rays and DVDs look spectacular on the player. And the Wifi connected fast without any issues. This is a wonderful product.

A cute little Blu ray player, very small but big in performance. I can now place a hold on a DVD and return to my original place the next day, something I could not do with my former Sony player. The remote is also very tiny. Works very well using an ethernet cable which is more reliable for me than wireless. Has every service imaginable available on the Home screen provided you are a subscriber to that service. There is a bit of a delay getting connected to whatever you want to watch and requires multiple clicks but eventually you get to where you want.

I am a man who has a lot of dvds, blu-ray dvds and music cds. I can play them on this player, thats right even the music cds. I love it and it was easy to set up. Actual very simple and fast. Took my old one out and put this one in. If you had to start from scratch an install it, it come with every thing including a hi speed cable for the tv. The only thing you might have to buy is a cable for the internet. I hit the jackpot when I ordered this I bought two. Looks good and plays great!

Worked great for about a month. Then I could not get the unit to turn off. the green light just stays on. even after disconnecting the power cord. When i plugged it back in the units green light lit up but none of the remote buttons or eject work. I tried all the remedies listed and suggested by Sony and others. From an internet search I see that many others have had the same problem. I no longer have the box ext so I cant even return it. I am so disappointed at having wasted my money. Like a dummy I got another one and it did the same thing...JUNK

The new Netflix format moves very slowly on this player. Amazon Prime Video is better, but, still, its a pain to pick a show. Once its playing, everything is fine. I dont know if its a memory problem, a programing problem, or a problem on the other end that clogs this machines ability to process. The Blue-Ray Disc player is flawless and hook up is easy, as is set up. The small footprint is awesome. I wish, however, that Id have gotten a machine that manages streaming video better.
