or manufacturing a reliable DVD player (according to online reviews). I read all the negative reviews but thought may be those folks do not know how to follow instructions, may be they dropped their remotes and so on. So I buy this player, set it up, and try to get it to work, which I did, but while playing a DVD the movie would play and stop, play and stop almost continuously. Long story short the remote was defective right out of the box and it was causing the intermittent fault. Id like to keep the player just because it matches the TV brand. However Im concern in the long term reliability, if something so elemental as a remote control comes defective from new, what else will go wrong? I honestly like Samsung products and know they are made of very high quality, but after my experience, and the negative reviews posted online I am lead to believe this product not only is in the low end of players but also of lesser quality, or perhaps poor quality control at manufacturing. In a related issue (the delivery of the player), zero or below zero points to the driver that delivered it. I was seating in my living room, able to look outdoors (but people from outside cannot see me). There is a screen door and behind a regular door, which was half way open (indicating someone is at the house -or have bad memory and left it open). So I can see the little Enterprise van, the delivery man getting off and walking toward the front door, and almost stealthily placing the package to the side of the door without even bothering to ring the doorbell or even just say "delivery" before leaving. Poor attitude! UPDATE: Following day I started fumbling with the pause/play pushbutton in the remote when it popped up to the same height as all the others. I clicked it several times and realized that this problem was solved. Haleluya! Long story short I got everything to work. Love everything about it and the fact that sometimes only one remote control will work with TV, Internet and DVD player.

We love everything about this player except one thing, IT WILL NOT PLAY 4K DVDs!! And that is what we bought it to do! It plays Blu Ray just fine, and the picture quality is awesome on our 65” 4K Samsung TV. But why would we keep it if it won’t play 4K DVDs? Unfortunately my return window has passed. When we put a 4K DVD in, it tries to play, but it continuously blacks out. I have returned movies, thinking they were bad, but after trying FOUR times, I give up. It’s not the disc, it’s the player :-(

I wanted to upgrade my DVD player to a 4K standard for my TV. I ordered the Samsung 4K UHD Blu-ray DVD Player (UBD-M8500) after reading reviews. The unit came Monday after ordering on Saturday. It was packed well, had simple readable instructions and was easy to set up. It integrates quickly and easily with my Samsung television. The picture is better than my old player with traditional CDs and Blu-Ray disks but the 4K resolution is stunning. I would recommend this seller and product to anyone looking for a great 4K player.

Being a smart device i now use it to connect to all my streaming services instead of my amazon fire stick. Connects faster then my first gen stick. Standard blueray disc looked better even on my older samsung tv(not uhd). Dont under stand remote complaints. Use it to control bluray player and old samsung tv and to set other sources. Just need to update to new samsung UHDTV and ill be ready for 4k blurays and streaming. Great price especially since it included a high def hdmi cable.

My 2 day shipping usually takes 3 (because Im in the country, verses the suburbs or city), so I was amazed how fast this Samsung 4K DVD player arrived. Because Im in the country, the fastest Broadband available thru my Internet Service Provider (ISP), is only 15 Mbps. To Stream 4k content the recommendation is minimum 25, and preferably 50! I cant wait another 20 years for my ISP to offer me 50 Mbps, so 4K DVDs basically my only option. I will say that Joe is almost as fast as my ISP! Great Delivery Speed!

This worked great with a Samsung QLED 49” TV and a Samsung Soundbar. It almost set itself up and adjusts quickly to new configurations.

Have not even opened the box yet as I’ve had a stroke and in a rehabilitation hospital... hope I can hook it up soon...

Seemed great out of the package. Thats were it ended. Would not connect to network. Said it was connected but it was not. Called support. One hour and half later they got it working. Turned it off and came back later. Same condition. Support is not qualified to answer questions. Repeatedly asked the same question over and over. Finally, today I had it. Fed up with Samsung support. Switching to Sony products. Amazon was great with returning this. Also, it said it was a new product but it was obviously used by another buyer. Good luck to the next unfortunate buyer on this unit.

I got a new samsung UHD smart TV for Christmas and my regular DVD player was not compatible with my new TV. I ordered this and is it AMAZING!!!! I can watch normal DVDs and it gives the same quality that my UHD TV does (which is amazing) compared to a normal TV.

SAMSUNG stated they have had other calls w/ the same remotes. the battery contacts were not aligned correctly so i tried adjusting them . i got the remote to work BUT NOT HAPPY.----- MY P/N 201 3848175 JOE WOZNICKI
