This is our second Epson TM-C3500 and well buy a third when this one dies. Its a reliable, flawless printer for us for printing wine labels. Everyone knows that the manufacturers are sticking it to us on ink prices. But at least this one is reliable, runs without problems, doesnt need nozzle cleanings except rarely and is a workhorse. Its small, and versatile in terms of paper feed. With the pigment ink, our poly wine labels could go right into a tub of water and ice right after printing and never bleed. All in all, just what we need.

We looked around for a while to get a good label machine. Most companies are looking for $7K and up for their machines, and while those do run quicker (8 labels a second) the C3500 does not seem to be a slouch. We print on glossy paper, and have some poly to try out. The colors stay (pigment inks are better than dye) and look OK. This printer does have some banding, and the print driver does some strange things at times with the information from Corel, but worlds better than Primera. Plus, I fully trust epsons hardware, there is a reason all of these small printer companies use their heads... they just work. Ive been in the print industry for 20 years now. Ive seen a lot of crap out there, and in this area, which is very niche, you get a lot of it at high prices with minimal support, because they know you dont have much choice. So I did do the square trade warranty on this unit, but I dont think we will actually need it.

Do your homework when looking for this printer. I have seen better offerers less expensive and offering $200 worth of free labels
