I really like the Epson XP-8500 Printer. It was an easy set up and has printed with no problems. I have a MacBook and had absolutely no problems connecting with my computer or my Airport wireless router. The paper has only jammed once and was quite easy to correct. I like the quality of the print so far, but have not printed photos yet so I can not comment on that aspect. In spite of the many positives of this printer, I was torn between giving it a 3 or 4 star for a rating. I felt it was only right to lower the rating based on the lack of availability of the printers ink. The ink is not available at ANY of the local stores. Amazon only had two of the six colors at the time of this posting. Also, the black ink in regular and three colors of the XL inks are not even available at epson.com at the time of this writing. I had to order ink online at a store I would normally not use for an online purchase. I do not find that remotely convenient. If you do decide to order this printer, I think you will be pleased with the printer overall. Please be aware that purchasing ink will not be convenient, at least not for now.

It drinks ink. Otherwise it seems to have printed decent quality so far. Using it mainly for photos. Just havent calculated if the ink refill costs outweigh just getting photos printed every now and then at a photo center store.

I bought this printer as a second printer for my office to be dedicated for photo print printing....replaced an older, worn-out Epson Model 700 which had served me well for almost 10 years...quality of the prints is outstanding...can print up to 8x10in prints, although I usually only use the printer for 4x6in and 5x7in prints (I usually send my images for 8x10 in and larger prints to a professional lab)..... Ink usage is about normal for color printing (i.e., color prints do use a lot of ink).... Good product..can recommend.

This tiny box is just what I wanted and it has features I could never use on my old Epson Artisan. It has a compact footprint, prints two sided easily, prints DVD labels, scans beautifully, and I can print envelopes again. It was too complicated and time consuming on the Artisan. It doesnt have a fax, but thats 20th Century artifact antique stuff. Who needs that anymore? I love this baby.

The packaging was first rate. The set up was clearly outlined in the doc provided. The whole process of set up went without any flaws on both my PC and iPad, including the wireless connection. But to the important part of this review....printing of pictures. WOW! Beautiful!! Quality of color excellent! I haven’t used the scanner yet but based on the photos I have printed I don’t expect any issues as the whole process to this point has been more than satisfactory. If you are considering this printer...do so with confidence. You won’t be disappointed.

We bought this to replace an Epson WF-3640, which did ok for print, copy, scan, but not so for photos. This is the best printer we have had (two Epson, two HP) for photos. The "standard" mode is good enough, the "high" quality uses too much ink, leaves the print looking like a painting with texture. Only complaint is it is hard to reach in and remove a 3.5x5 or 4x6 print from the tray. Good for home use, but not so for a business, you would get tired of reloading paper. Very quite, better than the thrashing machine noise from the WF-3640.

A little noisy, like every Epson printer, but I love the print quality. I purchased this printer for the direct CD/DVD feature but Im finding out that it offers great quality for photos, as well as letters and specialty prints such as newsletters (some people still dont use the web). This has proven to be a great find for me.

Always had a all in one with fax and decided to get a photo printer and glad I did. with 6 colors it makes super nice prints. All we have is smart phones and we get fantastic prints. The auto replenishment is nice, ink just shows up and you get a email notice when its ordered and on the way.

Do not by PERIOD!!! The scanner is horrible. I am using USB connection so there should be no problems. I have to attempt to do scans like 6 times for it to finally scan. I am buying an additional scanner to scan documents, and I will just use the printer.

So far, I have problems with this printer in two areas: 1: failure to feed photo paper properly = picture is unevenly printed requiring cropping manually. 2: Picture quality seems inferior to my past Epson printer.
