DVD players from Sony used to be fantastic. The new ones are nothing but garbage. I own three of them now and they all do the same thing. They freeze up will not let you turn them off and or on and one of them will not play DVDs and it’s brand new and it’s too late to return it to Amazon as my 30 days are up. So I guess I’m stuck with this item I paid $120 for. The only way you can reset it to get it to turn on and or off from time to time and unplug it and wait 10 seconds and then plug it back in again. It’s very annoying. I would not at all recommend this product and or any Sony Blu-ray DVD players.

Purchased because of its 4 and a haft star rating. It was pretty good the first 7 weeks, but then the password sign on to get to the internet started acting up. (Which has been every day lately and now cannot sigh on at all) The blueray/dvd started acting up too shortly afterwards. Freezing, locking up. Skips chapters in movies. Seriously, what is the point in this review since sony is not showing any signs of concern. I understand that some items will stop working, but only right after you cannot send it back. Conspiracies anyone? Kinda pointless keeping it. Thank you Sony for this wonderful umm..?...paperweight.

It absolutely won’t read 4K discs and that’s kind of why I bought the stupid thing. I gave it to my husband for Christmas and we just got our first 4K movies and the thing won’t read/acknowledge the discs. I am kind of ticked!
