I feel like I should start this with an evil laugh. This player worked fine for months, and then it did not.I dont have to go into detail, just Google Samsung Blu-Ray Disc Player issues and read. Then do your research and spend your money on something else.
PROS: - I really love that it plays DVDs and Blu-ray. I dont have to worry if the "wrong disc" comes for a library hold. Also, dont have to worry about replacing all my DVDs if I had decided on Blu-ray. - Able to stop show and come back later and pick up where left off. - If hooked up right, will turn a SAMSUNG TV on for you (when you load a DVD) - on newest TVs. - Remote is set up to be universal for SAMSUNG TV and Player - Subtitle button is on remote CONS: - Cant tell when the machine is on (no indicator light). - If you lose the remote or it breaks, you are screwed (no buttons on machine except eject and power). - Cant avoid the previews - have to FFWD through them. - FFWD is slow and jerky. - Unable to jump chapters, have to FFWD through all. A real pain if you accidentally stop the movie wrong and it takes you back to the beginning. Wish it held more discs. I loved my 5 disc player. I was able to end part 1 and start part 2 or different episodes right away. This would also be great if listening to music. I was actually looking to replace my 5 disc as it died, but I was unable to find a new one (only refurbished). Take my complaints with a grain of salt. I was spoiled by my 5 disc player. Overall, a basic machine. But if 5 disc (or even 3) disc players were still sold, I would have purchased that instead. - I recently started using Amazon Prime (Im hooked) Anyway, one of my players works great, the other loses the connection to the internet during the movie or TV shows. Wont repurchase.
