After spending a 45 min. then a 30 min sessions with customer service we could not get the unit to connect to my router. I was trading an LG thay quit connecting for this Phillips. Same location as the LG that worked for years. Also have a Samsung in an adjoining room that works from the same router. Excuses given by Philips for non connect problem, ranged from too far from router ! LG didnt seem to mind, Internet server has to disconnect firewall ! Didnt know we had one , LG didnt either. I returned the product out of frustration. I read reviews of other makes that have the same connect problem . What to do ??? I want to buy one and plug it in out of the box, can this ever happen?

This has already broke! It started showing signs of malfunction 2-3 weeks ago. I just received it on 9/29/17. I cannot find an option to return it. Anyone???

I bought this thinking that it would have inhanced accessibility, and I was hugely disappointed. Nowhere in the blueray player menus is there a way to turn on voice guidance, and the webpage doesnt even open the manual. When I go to the Philips webpage, I get a 404 forbidden page error when I try to download the manual. Also, Phillips customer service has no idea what enhanced accessibility is

Opened it right out of the box, to find out you need to buy a HDMI chord. Pain in the butt, but okay. Then spent 45 minutes with tech support could not get signal to my LG flat screen. Called LG, spent half hour with them, TV works fine with cable and old DVD player. Went back to Phillips re did previous steps still no signal, now have to apply for refund (all the while its raining out and kids crying to watch new blue ray with no blue ray player!

Philips used to be a trusted manufacturer of quality electronics. Those days are apparently over, as can easily be seen from this junk. First off, the remote is TINY, with buttons so small you will need long fingernails to press them. The unit malfunctions after 30-45 days, which is just sad. Remember the days when electronics would last a good 15 years? Those days are gone. Basically this Philips BluRay player is "disposable," meaning you can expect a couple months of service before it breaks and goes right in the landfill with all the other disposable tvs and media players. I found the most pathetic thing about this player is that it comes with NOTHING;no wires to hook it up, no instruction booklet, and the cheapskates dont even throw in a couple batteries for the doll sized remote. Thats really disgusting. Lesson learned;you save nothing by buying 4th rate trash. Not when you have to replace it within a couple months... and not when just owning the thing makes you feel like a sucker that just got cheated..

Ive had many issues getting this Phillips blueray player to start to play bluerays without the open close open close process. Most likely reason for malfunction in audio and video is if there is the slightest flaw in the media(CD/DVD) copywrite features imposed by the United States Recording Industry and Cooperate America prevent the media from playing. If only quality media (cd/dvd) were sold to begin with.......
