Plays 4K movies flawlessly. I dont need it to play music, giving it one star because you didnt do your research isnt a good reason to give the product a poor review. It will, actually, play almost anything... Just not to the standards of the other reviewer apparently ;).
Already have a smart tv and just need a quality player for your movies and dont need all the hastles that come with another "smart" device? This is the blu ray player for you! Anyway i have had sony (not to bad) and samsung (horrible) blu ray players they are all smart and it just causes problems with updates and poor firmware and whatnot. My kids and wife have the player running almost constantly and since things got smart i havent found anything that lasted more then like 9 months. I never plugged in the ethernet cord and this thing just plays moves without any hastle at all, no menus or screens to go through to pick dvd they just auto play like god intended. I mean really who relies on their dvd player as a smart device anyway. Ordering 2 more of the stoopid players soon for the bedrooms
I finally replaced my hated Sony Blu-Ray player with this 4K LG model. Everything about this player is better: responsiveness, no bugs/problems yet, better UI, better "smart" features, etc. 4K DVD selection is still not very good, but its much better than it was a year ago. The picture vs. regular BluRay is not great - not like the difference between SD and even 720p, which was such a noticeable improvement. But since this is backwards compatible, BluRay and regular DVDs play in it and look good too. After originally having a sluggish Samsung DVD player, then a bad Sony Blu-Ray player, its a blessing to not have a single complaint about a player like this. It just works like it should.
Best 4K UHD Disc Player for the price. No freezing or other issues seen by other players in this price range. Would highly recommend to others looking for an entry level player.
This inexpensive Blu-ray player does a great job of playing 4K videos. I really like it.
Saved sixty bucks not buying from Bbuy, Which I returned and got my unit from one of Amazons third party vendors. The LG UBK80 DvD 4K Blueray PLayer is really a no frills player which Does what it was intended for without the addons for Web or Apps. There is an internet port and a USB port if you need them. The picture Quality helps to enhance my 4K TVs viewing experience and you get all the Web and Apps included. In fact when you add a home theater, there also loaded with all kinds of access. So over kill, Get the UBK90, that has the apps. REcommended
This is a great 4K Blu-ray player. I purposefully bought this player because I didn’t want all of the other things that seem to be standard in this type of player. I stream things using a Fire TV so I don’t need every device that I have to repeat those functions. This player is nice because it does connect to the Internet, it has excellent picture quality, and the price was right. So if you don’t care about streaming crap, and having apps galore, but you just want a fast player with great sound and picture quality I would recommend this.
I like the product and the quality but the first disc I bought was the 4K of “Gladiator.” The picture starting breaking up near the end of the movie, not always in the same place. Got a replacement disc and same thing.
No need to purchase an expensive model UHD player with WI-FI and smart hub because 98% of 4K TVs have built in WI-FI and a smart hub. I have not had any problems with discs skipping or anything else like other reviewers have stated. With the money I saved purchasing this model I bought 4 UHD movies including planet earth 2 which looks AMAZING btw. The TV I have it hooked up to is a Samsung Q6 49". The HDR on Split was a huge difference. Once you go 4K you wont wanna go back its 100x clearer!
