I purchased this DVD player to watch a series that I hadnt realized was from Region 2 when I bought it. The player works perfectly for both the foreign DVDs that my US player wouldnt read and all of my normal USA/Region 1 DVDs. Not only that, but the picture quality on my TV is much better with this player than the $15 one from Walmart I had been using. I love that it is compact in size. You can power on and open/close the player from the front but do need the remote to do anything else (not a problem for me). Over all great purchase, works perfectly and was exactly what I needed!

It’s inexpensive it works. I needed a player to watch a region 6 Chinese drama that I purchased on Amazon. It played the region 6 dvd set right out of the box with no adjustments needed. Later, I followed the instructions to play region 1 (USA) dvds. The instructions were easy and worked. Now it’s definitely an all region player. But don’t lose the remote. As with many devices now days there aren’t many set-top buttons. Power and Eject are the only buttons on the player. This connects to your tv with the yellow (video), red, white (audio) cable which is included.

So relieved that this really worked as a region free dvd player. Didnt have to do anything......no codes needed just plug in and its done. Initially I bought the same player from Wal-Mart as it was cheaper but it wasnt region free and none of the hacks or codes worked on it. The only difference I noticed was the remote. This one has no numbers on it whereas the other did. whether it was a newer or older model I dont know. The remote on this one is rather weak, you have to be pretty close to get it to work but I can live with that for all the convenience its saved. Not noticed any difference in picture or screen quality. All plays and looks as it should.

Did not come programmed for all regions... I have DVDs from all over the world, so I was disappointed at first and started a return. HOWEVER, after two hours of research, I found a hack that WORKED! So I now recommend buying this. Use this code, it takes just a minute. 1.Switch on the DVD player without any Disc inside 2.The screen should display no disc 3.Eject to open the DVD tray 4.While the tray is open, press the STOP button then hold the ENTER button for 5 seconds 5. A new screen will appear (Regional Management Test Code) which will allow you to change the region code using the up and down arrow keys on the remote control. 6. Change the code to 0 and press the PAUSE key to exit

Easy to set up: Plug in power, plug in the RCA jacks that came with it, put the included battery in the remote, and voila! Ready to go. And to top it off, they included a photocopy of the instructions for changing the factory region settings to “ALL”. I had already copied the instructions from reviewer, B.B., so I was set, but since they were nice enough to include them in the box, I just followed theirs (after setting the language to English, first). Also, note that the directions mention things showing up on ”the display”. They mean on your tv screen. The DVD player, itself, has no display on the front. Worked like a charm! I tried a region 1 dvd, and a region 2. Both played perfectly. At $35, I feel ridiculous even bringing it up, but in the interest of a thorough review...the remote is not great (I have to REALLY press the buttons to get them to engage, sometimes more than once), and the picture isn’t super sharp. Like pre-HDMI. Which is fine. Again, for $35, I’m very happy with it. Would recommend to a friend.

As a frequent visitor to Amazon, it goes without saying that I purchase, or rather, have purchased a lot of DVDs from the company. I noticed a long time ago that certain items that I would purchase werent available in the format that I needed. I finally decided to buy a region free DVD player. The reviews on this particular player were varied. After looking at different players, I decided to buy this one. At the same time I ordered Last of the Summer Wine complete DVD collection from Amazon UK. The DVD player arrived in three days; the DVD collection arrived in six days. I should also point out that this collection is only available in PAL format. The player was very easy to set up; 3 color coded connections and you are ready to go. I put a disc in the drawer and voila! It played with no problem at all. Therefore, I highly recommend buying this product.

My DVD player came as a region 1 DVD player, not a region free DVD player fortunately the hack that b.b. gives works great! I have just played a region 1 and a region 2 DVD after changing the region to 0. Beautiful!

This region free DVD player works great, is easy to install, and has a nice simple to use remote control. No complaints so far. UPDATE: After three years and 10 month it would no longer open and close. Had to break it open to get DVD out. Since then I have purchased the Panasonic DVD-S700EP-K All Multi Region Free DVD Player 1080p Up-Conversion with HDMI Output, Progressive Scan, USB with Remote (110V-240V) on Amazon and wow what a difference! Better picture and quieter!

I bought this a number of years ago, so this review is kind of late. I just wanted to add it was a fine machine, but I would say about two to three years after owning this blu ray player, it decided to no longer want to play DVDs. It still plays Blu rays just fine, as well as CDs, but for some reason it longer recognizes a DVD. I have tried to troubleshoot on the internet but have come to no solution. It is not a BIG deal for me, but I could see how it may be an issue for some.

I accidentally bought a set of DVDs for another region, and my husband and I were in the market for a new DVD player in the near future anyways. So, we decided to try out a region free player. We purchased this one on 1-16-18. It does play the DVDs we have from a different region. However, it glitches and skips when playing a good majority of DVDs , even brand new ones. It has just gotten worse and worse over the last month or so. I have ordered a cleaner to try cleaning it, but I dont expect it to help. I will update my review if I am wrong.
