Did not come programmed for all regions... I have DVDs from all over the world, so I was disappointed at first and started a return. HOWEVER, after two hours of research, I found a hack that WORKED! So I now recommend buying this. Use this code, it takes just a minute. 1.Switch on the DVD player without any Disc inside 2.The screen should display no disc 3.Eject to open the DVD tray 4.While the tray is open, press the STOP button then hold the ENTER button for 5 seconds 5. A new screen will appear (Regional Management Test Code) which will allow you to change the region code using the up and down arrow keys on the remote control. 6. Change the code to 0 and press the PAUSE key to exit

Easy to set up: Plug in power, plug in the RCA jacks that came with it, put the included battery in the remote, and voila! Ready to go. And to top it off, they included a photocopy of the instructions for changing the factory region settings to “ALL”. I had already copied the instructions from reviewer, B.B., so I was set, but since they were nice enough to include them in the box, I just followed theirs (after setting the language to English, first). Also, note that the directions mention things showing up on ”the display”. They mean on your tv screen. The DVD player, itself, has no display on the front. Worked like a charm! I tried a region 1 dvd, and a region 2. Both played perfectly. At $35, I feel ridiculous even bringing it up, but in the interest of a thorough review...the remote is not great (I have to REALLY press the buttons to get them to engage, sometimes more than once), and the picture isn’t super sharp. Like pre-HDMI. Which is fine. Again, for $35, I’m very happy with it. Would recommend to a friend.

As a frequent visitor to Amazon, it goes without saying that I purchase, or rather, have purchased a lot of DVDs from the company. I noticed a long time ago that certain items that I would purchase werent available in the format that I needed. I finally decided to buy a region free DVD player. The reviews on this particular player were varied. After looking at different players, I decided to buy this one. At the same time I ordered Last of the Summer Wine complete DVD collection from Amazon UK. The DVD player arrived in three days; the DVD collection arrived in six days. I should also point out that this collection is only available in PAL format. The player was very easy to set up; 3 color coded connections and you are ready to go. I put a disc in the drawer and voila! It played with no problem at all. Therefore, I highly recommend buying this product.

My DVD player came as a region 1 DVD player, not a region free DVD player fortunately the hack that b.b. gives works great! I have just played a region 1 and a region 2 DVD after changing the region to 0. Beautiful!
