When I first received the player it was fine with the one Region 2 dvd that I kept, now that my laptops dont have a dvd slot any longer. Happy with this, I went ahead and ordered a few more DVD sets from Europe. Two of them (ordered through Amazon) arrived today. To my horror, they would not play on the LG player. The screen displays a triangle with red border and exclamation mark, and next to it the message "Check regional code". This is true with the set that played ok a month ago! Well, that was why I purchased the player in the first place - so that I dont have to check the regional code. I admit I bought this player because it had a low price, but I did not intend it to be disposable after one use. The good reviews I read were a large part of the reason I got it. Im thoroughly disappointed. Its time for DVD manufacturers to drop the region nonsense, especially now that so much content is available online anyway.

This DVD player is apparently manufactured in Russia. And all the written documentation including the information on the box is also in Russian. I called to get English instructions and got nowhere. I even attempted to contact LG and because I couldnt read the information they couldnt help me either. So I called back to Amazon and I filed a complaint. The agent stated that there were several reviews that this was a problem for other buyers. I was even more determined to file a complaint. What is Amazon thinking? To allow sellers to sell products which are not usable to English-speaking personnel. It also showed me that the higher up personnel in Amazon dont even care was their customers experience with the products they sell.

FALSE ADVERTISING!!!!!! This is not a "region free" player as advertised. We live in the US and bought this unit for our travel trailer to be used when we travel. As luck would have it, I hooked it up two days after the return window closed. In hindsight, I should have just went to Walmart and bought one. Also, the instructions are not in English if you would need them.

I bought this because the description stated it was region free and could play movies from all over the world. I have a serious that I bought that is region 2 (seller in eBay lied was supposed to be region free). Havent tried those yet, but this is the error I get just trying to watch Netflix from the US. Neither have worked, two disks from home have but the picture quality was terrible. Very dissatisfied, and normally I love LG. DONT buy this, waste of money!

I was so excited when I received this DVD player today, but Im so unhappy about its quality that Ive already initiated a return for a refund. The picture is awful. The photo comparison below is evidence: the fuzzy pics w/ the washed-out color are of a Region 2 DVD being played on this DVD player; the clear, full-color pics are of the same DVD being played on an external DVD drive connected to my desktop computer. So I will look for another multi-region DVD player and keep watching my Region 2 DVDs on my computer in the meantime.

This seller out right lies. This dvd player is not region free. It WILL NOT work with DVDs made in the USA or region 1 as it claims. There are also zero English instructions in the box. If you live in the US don’t buy this divice it will not work for you at all. It will just tell you to check your dvd region.

This is not a true region free DVD player. A real region free DVD player will automatically play any DVDs from any region right out of the box, and you dont need to enter some hack or code etc etc. The unit I purchased would not play other region DVDs, and did not come with any paper providing some code to enter either. I looked on here and found the code from others who had purchased this same unit, and I also looked up other ways to supposedly unlock this player to make it region free....and none of it worked. We should not have to enter any code or hack etc if it is a true region free DVD player, the title is misleading.

Brand new and it skips on DVDs that did not skip before. Its also loud. I think I will pop for more money next time, Im never sure if its going to chew up a favored DVD. Its now been 3 months and this piece of absolute CRAP is dead/done/died. It started going about 2 months ago, one month after I bought it. I never buy LG because of all the GARBAGE China produces, this brand is one of the worst. I feel suckered. I should have known. DO NOT BUY LG PRODUCTS-THEY ARE COMPLETE GARBAGE. NEVER, EVER AGAIN.

I got this DVD player a month ago and never opened it until today. I put the first movie in and the tray won’t even close.

I purchased an LG region free dvd which worked fairly well for about a year. Before it stopped working, I bought another and it has been sitting on the shelf for several months. I took it out today to replace the one that had worn out. Right out of the box, it was defective. Start/stop, freezing, pixelating, and simply unusable. Unfortunately, since Ive had it several months I cant send it back. Lesson learned, no more LG electronics for me.
