This is refurbished purchase from amazon. It did not work for me. I tried following things: It never played any discs. reset the device as many as 6 times. I am connected to internet using cable. Whenever I insert discs( i tried with DVD Bluue ray each of 3 different types), it starts running the disc , I hear beep beep sound for on average 6 minutes and after processing, it says no discs or check discs. I did reset device to factory settings. I did update hardware three times. It did not work. I asked for return and full refund within 2 hours after receiving item. I got new sony blue ray which works now from BestBuy. I did do initialization . I agreed to terms and accepted it. there is no customer care for this. So cant help online help. Only online forums are there.

As a blue ray/ DVD player, this works perfectly. As a “Smart Network,” I have had nothing but trouble with the darn thing. Won’t connect to the internet wirelessly- ok, so I used a LAN connection. Unfortunately, now even when I can actually get it to connect to Netflix or Hulu, I typically have to restart whatever show or movie I’m trying to watch or end up unplugging the device itself because it constantly freezes, skips or just plain won’t load all together. Plus, for some reason you cannot add additional apps to the smart sources- Amazon shows up everytime I turn the thing on, but is quickly replaced with “CinemaNow” and doesn’t show back up. What is the point of having a smart device that doesn’t work 90% of the time?! Will likely be returning and just buying a brand new smart DVD player or TV.

Only ran for about 3 months...exactly 2 days after the warranty ran out. Amazon did refund my card anyway. I was sceptical about buying refurbished electronics, not a good experience. Will buy brand new next time.

This is way better than my old Samsung bluray. The remote works flawlessly with my TV :) The volume, power, and input buttons work - w00t! I have a choice of 8 apps, but really I only needed 4, Hulu, Netflix, Youtube, and Amazon Prime. I removed half a star because the first one I tried, Hulu didnt work. So I returned that one, and have ordered a replacement. The other half star missing is because the loading/default on screen doesnt allow an action to be performed immediately ( you pick Movie, Photo, Music, Services, Settings, and then do something ). I played around with network settings and streaming, found zero issues. I really only wish DVDs had the clock feature on the front. For less than $40, I doubt there is a better player even under $80

I ordered this Device on December 19th and installed it on Dec 22nd. As of last week (March 20th) it no longer gives an output signal to my TV. I have swapped multiple HDMI cables and have since bought a new TV in hopes it was the age of the other TV and nothing has fixed it. When looking into my original order I can not contact the seller and the product is now listed under another. Very frustrating and annoying. They should be obligated to take back this device and replace it with a working one.

My husband and I recently cancelled with out TV provider. We have an Xbox is our living room but needed something to stream in the bedroom. This worked perfectly.. there has never been any buffering waiting for Hulu, Netflix or Amazon

Just mentioning that because i noticed complaints aboit it. I have this player but mine has WiFi so I was confused by the term "with streaming services". You need to plug this in to your router/network. Im happy with the player. Zero bells and whistles. But Ill take a refurbished LG over a Sanyo or other similar priced brand anyday. I got this to go with our Smart TV anyway and moved the WiFi model up with my dumb TV.

needed a cheap basic blu-ray player that was EZ to operate. its not wireless so any updates like this one needed will need to be plugged in to update. would buy again.

This unit fit perfect into my new HP 4K laptop and plays Blu-rays perfectly BUT most DVDs it refuses to play or they stop playing when the second layer kicks in. Yes, I updated the firmware but no change. I had to buy another USB DVD player! BTW, I own 700+ DVDs and 400+ Blu-rays and tested many. So, 2 stars because it is bigoted against DVDs. I would have returned it but I live overseas.
