Did not work as advertised. Could not play Blu-ray discs from region B which includes Europe, Australia, etc. Followed the sellers poorly written instructions as well as various work-arounds listed by users here in the Amazon product reviews but nothing worked. Kept getting the "Unfortunately this disc will not play due to the region code settings of the player" message. I think it is important to point out that these Blu-ray players are NOT sold by LG as Region Free Players directly. Rather, the multi-region feature is an after-market modification by Dynastar (the seller); hence the cryptic instructions and low quality control. Some of these devices apparently work. And some definitely do not work.

Just got it and set it up literally 15 minutes ago. It played my Region B Blu-ray disc without any issues. But you have to read the instructions carefully. At first, I turned the unit on and then pressed [2] and inserted the disc and it didnt play. Then I realized that I have to turn OFF the unit FIRST and THEN press [2] - doing this actually turns the unit on and then it plays the region B disc (or whatever region you selected). PROS: Played the region B disc and I am sure it will play the other regions. I have not tried my European DVDs yet. Settings do show wi-fi under Network, I will have to test that and update my review. But I didnt buy this player for internet so I am not too concerned. CONS: It feels cheaply made, extremely light, not sturdy at all. Based on my experience with electronics, I am afraid it may not last very long or I may experience performance issues. Another CON is that it does NOT have an audio output port on the back (they hardly show you the photos of the back panel of these region-free players). It only has ONE HDMI output but it says 2.1 DTS audio underneath it. I guess this means this player does not support 5.1 DTS surround sound and it can only output 2.1 channel audio. I sent a question to the seller (Bombay Electronics) , I will update my review. If my guess is correct, I may look for another model with a better audio output option. I also asked that question to the seller as well. Somehow, with these multi-region players, they never tell you the details about the audio output options.

This player never worked for me. It did not play a single non-U.S. disc. It kept ejecting them saying "check region code". I called LG and they said switching the region on this model is impossible.

Terrible product. Won’t pick up my premium channels. Shuts down and freezes all of the time. Sending it back

I have had absolutely no problems with this player. I love the usb feature so I can move stuff from the computer to the tv. It reads every file Ive tried (so far): avi, mkv, mp4. Region free worked out of the box for all my British dvds and blu-rays. My kidlet had purchased this same item about a year ago and she told me it played all of her world-wide collection of DVDs/blu-rays, and she was right.

Absolute worst machine ever. I had a Samsung. But it had preset streaming and no Amazon Prime option. So I got this one. THIS MACHINE gets stuck, won’t shut off, has to be unplugged almost every single time I use it. It freezes every time I am watching netflix. No, it’s not my wifi. Everything else works fine. It takes forever to load anything, forever to start up. I don’t usually fuss about stuff I get off Amazon, but this is ridiculously annoying and time consuming. It asks me to reload my wifi password every other time I turn it on. EVERY OTHER TIME.

Controller did not control audio volume or turn TV on/off despite the fact that many customers said it did. Controller is way too small. Why do so many DVD players have such small controllers? More suitable for 5 year old kid. What exactly is the attraction for manufacturers to make small controllers? I have tried 4 players (Sony, Sanyo, LG and Philips) and they all have tiny controllers. Sony is the only one that controlled volume. Not going to buy on-line again. The only thing positive is that it played video OK.

Callg this a region free blu-ray player is a FALSE claim. It is an satisfactory player, but it is being falsely marketed.

i never write reviews but after having this unit i would say it is not worth the money. I have to constantly reset by unplugging power and then the remote seems to have a mind of its own while scrolling thru Amazon videos. It is wifi but very clunky when trying to use it for finding stuff and its is limited on what it will allow you to use so ...its really not great at all considering what i paid,.

I have not tried to play a disc from any region other than N America, so I cannot rate the multi region ability, but it plays the US discs very well. It boots up and reads quickly. The only problem I have encountered is that the machine interrupts some movies with a text box relating to setting up the home network which, when you go to the network status, page, is properly set up and running fine. There is no hint as to what prompts the box to display, and the movie continues to run after the box os dismissed.
