I bought this unit to replace an old Xerox desktop copier. Im a computer professional, and setting up this unit took a lot longer than I expected. Overall, I think the unit is a good value, but it is not what I would consider "consumer friendly." One negative that I had read about before purchasing this unit was that it prints a status page every time you power it up. This wastes both paper and toner. In a chat with Xerox before the purchase, I was told that this model does not have a way to turn off this wasteful "feature." However, after exploring the units web interface (CentreWare Internet Services), I found a way to turn off that power-up page. Once you get to the printers home page, click the Properties tab. Under Properties in the left panel, navigate down to Machine Settings | System | Setup. Down at the very bottom of that page, disable (by un-checking) Startup Configuration Report. Magically, no more start-up page, and no more wasted consumables. The pictorial/multilingual instructions for removing the packing materials and preparing the toner cartridge are abysmal. Also, be sure to put down a drop cloth and cover yourself before dealing with the toner cartridge...toner powder spewed everywhere when I removed the packing materials from the cartridge. (Ive dealt with dozens of toner cartridges for printers and copiers before, and this was by far the messiest of them all.) The "installation wizard" that runs on the unit when you first power up contains some cryptic questions that are not documented in the 294-page PDF manual. I was able to figure out most of them, but the "Allow Upgrade? Yes/No" gave me pause. I assumed this was asking whether to allow firmware upgrades, but it wasnt clear whether this would permanently prevent such upgrades, if it was referring to automatic upgrades from Xerox, or upgrades initiated by the end user. So, after some reading and searching, I finally gave in and ended up calling Xerox support. The representative was vague about it...using lots of "I think," "I suppose," "maybe," and "should." When I pressed for a more direct answer, he checked with someone else, and the response was no more definitive. I ended up responding Yes, even though that was not the default response, just in case. It turns out that this is settable after the fact through the CentreWare Internet Services browser interface. Once you get to the printers home page, click the Properties tab. Under Properties in the left panel, navigate down to Security | System Security | Feature Management. Down at the very bottom of that page, enable/disable Firmware Upgrade. It would really have helped if the question on the units display was more clear, or that it was at least documented in the manual. Anything that requires a phone call for clarification is costly for the consumer and for the manufacturer. Although the manual indicates that you can set up the wireless SSID and key from the units front panel, it is a long, painful process. And if your SSID and/or key happens to contain even one special character that is not available on the units keypad, this is not a viable approach. (I didnt try the Wi-Fi wizard, because my network doesnt broadcast its SSID.) I ended up having to connect my Windows tablet directly to the USB port on the printer, download and install the Windows software, selecting installation of the Xerox Easy Wireless Setup, and using that utility to specify the wireless settings using the tablet. Once that was done, wireless operation worked fine. I havent had a chance to work with the scanning features yet, but will add to this review if there is anything to report.

If I had more stars to give I would. Ive always bought expensive $300-$500 laser printers. This printer is amazing. My other printers used to take a long time to warm up. This is instant print even when in sleep mode. The quality is amazing. I love the AirPrint feature, our iPhones and iPads instantly finds it and we can print. Once the computer is on the network you can manage all settings using a web browser rather than dilly dallying with the console on the printer itself. I love the "Scan to Email" feature. just sends me a PDF with my scanned document. This feature does require that you know something about mail server settings. We just looked up the Gmail server settings and its logging in to the mail server using our Gmail account. I paid three times as much for three times less in the past. This deal is hard to beat. We paid $149 on Amazon Prime (free two day shipping).

Printer works well for the first couple weeks. after that problems start. The printer becomes slow to print. The fax feature stops working. the printer WiFi option stops working. the paper starts getting jam. and when you call XEROX or the stupid 3 year protection plan ( which its a waste of money because they are going to try to do everything in their power to avoid to give you a refund) they will want to waste your time making you follow directions for over almost two hours to try to make the printer work and at the end they will offer to send a tech and charge you $58 for it.

I read so many reviews of how this printer wouldnt connect to home networks, or was difficult to setup. I actually put off starting the install until I had enough time to fix any issues that came up. From unpacking to printing took about 20 minutes. The instructions were helpful, but it was simple...do NOT plug in the USB cable. Simply power on the printer, go to the settings for WiFi, select the option for WPS (although not labeled WPS in the settings menu, something like PCM..cant remember exactly), then go to your router and push the WPS button...they will connect to each other and the router will assign an ip address to the printer. I suggest that you go into your router settings and make the IP static. Then you simply go to any wireless PC that is connected to your same home network and add the printer. For Android devices, go to the google play store and install the xerox plugin app. This will allow any android device to print to the printer; Apple has the same app. Print quality is great, scanning from the PC is simple and fast, however I have not tried to scan to/from any android device.

Replaced a dying Xerox M20i AIO unit. So far, so good. A great value for the money... UPDATE - One year later, working as intended and without any issues. I would highly recommend at this price!

This unit is a paperweight. Weve spent more in toners than on the product itself. Every toner reads that the toner is invalid even though they are genuine Xerox toners. Xerox does not care and will only charge over 200 dollars for one hour of maintenance which costs more than the total of the printer. I have 8 paperweight toners here at a cost of 59.99 a piece and a heavy worthless printer that my organization can not even use. Avoid this product like the plague.

This is a sophisticated, enterprise-grade AIO in a home office package. In addition to the usual functions (print, scan, fax) it has high-end features such as scan-to-Email and SNMP management. I have it running in a mixed environment (Macs, PCs with Windows 7 and 10) and it works flawlessly. Setup is easy with the web interface, just plug it in with a network cable and find the assigned IP address. As with all printers, I recommend setting either a static IP address or a DHCP reservation. As pointed out by a previous reviewer, the most annoying thing with this printer is the status page that prints automatically every time the printer is plugged in. This is easy to fix (again, see previous review); go to Properties->System->Setup and uncheck "Print status report at startup" at the bottom. (Default user name is admin, default password is 1111). You should also update the firmware (obtained from the Xerox website and updated via the web interface). I have not experienced the errors printing under Windows 7 mentioned by other reviewers. Ive had no problems whatsoever. Even prints from our iPhones using AirPrint. Again, get the latest drivers from the Xerox website -- the included CD is 4 years old. This printer originally sold for $300+. Its a deal at $200 and a steal at $100.

I just recently received this unit and I havent had a lot of time with it. So, my reviews may change. However, this is what I think about this printer as of this date: 1.) It doesnt have the easiest setup, but is in line with similar printers. The onscreen prompts are not great. They are irritating and not as comprehensive as I would like. Also, the printed instructions are not great. However, you can figure out most of via the "printer webpage." Which allowed me to setup features that seemed impossible on the printer itself. That is easier than what I have experienced in the past. 2.) Save yourself the trouble - use ethernet! -Setting up a printer via wifi is a pain. A real pain! Setting up a wired printer is easy! If your printer is close enough to your router - then please use ethernet!!!! You will be glad that you did. And yes, you can print via wifi if your printer is wired. It doesnt matter. 3.) Why in the world is printing every time that I turn it on! - One thing that I have not figured out how to turn off yet is each time I turn it on - it prints a test page. Wasting paper and annoying me. I have yet to figure out how to stop that. 4.) Finally, damn the print outs look great! -I havent done much yet with it, but I have to say that I love the quality of the print. Its been so long since I have had a new printer that forgot how beautiful laser printers can be. Even if it is monochrome. It is wonderful! That alone is worth the price of admission. With the scan and fax features on top of it - its nearly perfect. Its not for everyone. Know what youre getting into before you buy. Then youll be fine.

I dont know how anyone could reasonably ask for more from a multi-function at this price point. Its more than fast enough for the type of work its being purchased for It comes with a full capacity toner cartridge rather than one of those 20 sheet samplers Setup is simple, and it has a reasonably comprehensive admin web server built in It handles AirPrint and Google Cloud Print effortlessly Print quality is excellent, as it is for just about any laser printer you can buy Scan to cloud, scan to networked PC, copy - its got the lot!

Great printer for the price. The driver that came with it loaded OK on old-old xp and xp-sp1. I downloaded the WIN 10 driver and it worked fine. I downloaded the "Linux" driver and it is a real challenge to install if you are not familiar with "Linux Terminal". Not all the features are usable in Linux. I am using it hard wired with USB. The fax from glass acts strange and goes to fax each time the phone rings and its hard to clear. The house lights also flicker when it wakes up and when it prints. The printer gets a 5 and the IB gets a 2. Although I did order a second one.
