This printer is a great idea - small, rechargeable battery, quiet, and fast. However, Epsons use of "precision" print heads means that youll ultimately end up clogging them if you neglect to use your printer for a couple of weeks. If youre lucky, you can dump half a new ink cartridge into a cleaning cycle and the printer works again. However, if youre like me, the self-cleaning wont work and, if youre out of warranty, youve got a $200 paper-weight. This is especially true if you use the printer in an area thats either very dry or very warm.

I used to own the Canon Pixma mobile printer, which was really good even though the bluetooth connection was tenuous. I wavered between that printer and this one, confident that either choice would be good. This is the smallest printer in the world (that prints full size paper including legal). the body of it is (about) the body of it is about the same size as the Canon, but the Canon requires an external battery that fits on the back adding about 2" and weight, AND you have to buy it separately. The WF-100 has a built in battery, and therefore comes with the initial cost. The only thing that made me waver was that CR stated that the printing quality of the Canon mobile was better. I dont know how it could be. The print quality is better than my standard HP printer. I had read that set up was tricky--it wasnt. While I usually just take things out of the box and try it without downloading software (and it might have worked); because I am a new Mac user, I wanted it to be without glitches. The setup guide was very easy, and within 5 minutes I was printing. Please know though that this is a printer intended for mobile use. While it certainly is high enough quality for regular use, it is slower (Not bad) and the cost per page is higher that regular printers. That being said, you could take it on a business trip--or pleasure trip if you need to print, or if you just want to amaze people with how cool you are! and be assured of presenting clients or whomever with high quality printing, or out in the field it would be amazing as well.

I get about two pages printed then problems. The ink nozzle gets clogged easily and then prints messy. My only guess is storing in briefcase causes the problem. The printer will automatically clean the nozzle but waste ink and time doing so ( Can you imagine on the road then the printer stops for maintenance). Then your maintenance box will need replacement. WiFi is a hit or miss so I you start with cable connection to make it connect property each time. Bottom line you will spend lots of time and money getting this to print properly on the road. My dissatisfaction is so high I will not use it anymore even after replacing the ink and maintenance box.

Great printer, small and does not make much noise, and it came with a nice quality ink. I keep it in a cupboard and take it out whenever I need it. Not totally light but not the heaviest either so one could carry around with them if needed. Sleep looking and good quality build. Battery lasts. Very easy to set up. Totally recommend. Unfortunately the ink one buys separately from epson is not as good quality. Also, sometimes I just want to print one page, but if I put only one page in the printer, it does not seem able to pick it up, it keeps trying and then it stops trying. So now I always put several pages in, even if I am printing one page and it finds the page easier. This printer is not that fast to be used for heavy printing. It is a good printer to have at home for some ad-hoc printing one has to do. So for that kind of use and for its size (I am a minimalist and want to have as little or nothing sitting on counters as possible) I gave it 5 stars.

I have had nothing but issues with this printer. Constantly losing the remote connection from my computer to print to it. I am always having to set it up again and I have to use the IP address that also just randomly changes whenever it feels like it. To running out of color ink and not being able to print just black and white, even though there is still plenty of black ink available. Hands down the biggest waste of money and time (as it takes many man hours to deal with this piece of garbage). FYI, I work in technology and so does my boyfriend, so we are not novices and we both have wasted hours on this. I would recommend NEVER buying the Epson WorkForce WF-100. OH and now, I replaced the the color cartridge and the printer, prints nothing. Im sure its some kind of maintenance I need to perform after only printed enough to go through 1 color cartridge. GARBAGE!!! (Id like to use a four letter word here, but I will not). UPDATE: I cannot believe this piece of garbage is still for sale on Amazon. I have barely printed 40 pages and now the maintenance box is worn out. This literally is the worst buy, I am telling you DO NOT PURCHASE!!!!. Its the worst product.

I bought this to use on a job that required hand-written reports; I could not hand write re tremors, so I bought this printer. I hauled all over the place in my rolling briefcase, and it was great, never showed any signs of the jostling it got regularly. The one thing I would warn people about is replacing both the ink cartridges and maintenance box too soon. Always have extras on hand, with you in fact, but do not replace them until the printer screen tells you it must be replaced for you to print. The maintenance box warning that it is "nearing the end of its life" has been on my printer for months, but it continues to work. Also, if you run out of colored ink, even though you tell it to print only black, it still will not print without the color replaced. I have noticed that the color ink levels slowly go down even when I do not use color, which I rarely do with this printer (and no, I did not tell it to blend the colors to make black when the black cartridge was getting low). Print quality is excellent, in both color and b/w. Great little printer. If I have one regret, it is that I did not think ahead and buy the similar model that can also scan. (Twice as much $$ and could not afford at the time.)

Purchased this in September 2016, and for the first time yesterday had to change both color and black ink. (Note the machine makes you change Both at the same time, if you only change one the machine wont work) this bothered me, as I know there was still color ink, and the machine would not work with just a new black ink. Once i replaced both was fine. The machine tells you when the ink needs to be changed. My printer is now saying "maintence box needs ro be changed soon" so I just ordered this today (another $10 dollars). We probably print 5-10 sheets per Week. Quality is excellent. Very light weight. Prints easily from iPhone, iPad. Ink is pricey, and I believe should have lasted longer.

This printer let me down. I like the size and the fact that its portable but it has never printed correctly. It always prints lines in solid colors. I tried a cleaning cycle and that used up ink with no improvement. Finally, tonight it wouldnt print a simple b/w page of text that I need for an early job tomorrow. It says I need to replace the ink cartridges after printing maybe 20 mostly b/w prints total since I bought it. Now, sometime before 8am when Im due to arrive the job, I have to find a Kinkos to print a single page of b/w text.

Do not purchase this product it is very unreliable. Update Nov 2018: I was able to reinstall the drivers and get the products wifi working again. But now Ive discovered one of the nastiest features Ive seen from a tech product. I only print contracts in black, never colour. My printer indicated I needed to replace the ink so I replaced the black cartridge. But the printer will not work unless you also replace the three colour cartridge as well. I repeat it will not work at all with just a new black ink cartridge. This is a awful money grab for a tech company. They will make you purchase and replacement ink you dont need. I highly recommend not purchasing this product for two reasons 1.) the wifi is not reliable and 2.) You must replace all the ink cartridges to get your printer working again even if you dont need them because you always print contracts in black. First issue: This product worked for about a week then stopped. The printer indicates its connected to wifi, but it is not and I can not print. I connected directly with the cable still unable to print. The problem occurred first on my wifes computer and then mine a few days later. Tried reconnecting the wifi. It looks like its connected but its not.

The reviews seemed to indicate that print quality is subpar. But I found for printing documents the print quality is better than my larger Epson multifunction which is from their photo printer range. Yes Im shocked. The difference I found is that the larger Epson has overspray that makes letters fuzzy, where this mobile printer does. That said I increased the density setting by one on the WF-100 where I found the default yielded anemic looking results. Once increased the mixed text / graphic output is really quite good. The printer was purchased specifically for use on the run (e.g. printer should have been provided, but there simply put isnt one there). Its size and weight is very manageable. That said I have found if it is unused for a week or two, when you plug it in to recharge, the charge time is rather long. This suggests that the self discharge is higher than expected. Using the WiFi is annoying and somewhat complex. At times I just plug in the USB cable and dont bother with the WiFi. This is especially true if I need to use my laptops WiFi connected to a random public Wifi and dont want to switch back and forth (actually cant).
