I love the monitors, I bought two. Like other reviews have stated, there is darkening at both the left and right edges for about 2 inches. Not a big deal because I use for an office setting. I would NOT recommend for gaming (as a gamer.)
Theres a bad contact somewhere on the mainboard. After a couple months, the headphone/line-out jack seems to have completely malfunctioned. Plugging in anything fails to get audio. The monitor does have speakers, but theyre lousy and only come on when somethings half plugged in to the headphone jack at a weird angle. Now Ill have to buy an hdmi audio extractor just to use my Chromecast again. As other reviewers have mentioned, pretty bad backlight and light leakage. The corners feel faded and sometimes hard to read. Overall, the design is sleek, and I like the HDMIx2 and DP ports on the back. But not having a working line out defeats the purpose: I may as well have just gone with a DVI monitor. Aesthetically its got nice externals; internally its a pain.
This monitor has a decent picture quality, but I bought two of these and the color is different between them (not all monitors come exactly synced from the box. But, they both have backlight bleed, and in different areas. ViewSonic needs to look at each of the monitors before they ship it.
