I was looking for a gaming monitor for my Xbox One, had been using a Sony Bravia HD TV and it never failed anytime I wanted to game somebody was watching TV. Yep. I looked at the BenQs Zowie and almost pulled the trigger, but I really wanted an IPS monitor. So far Im pleased with the purchase and for the price very happy with the quality of the product. Dimensions: Since the monitor doesnt come with an adjustable stand heres some measurements that might help you determine if you might want to purchase a separate stand. Height from desk to bottom edge of monitor: 3 1/2", height from desk to bottom edge of viewable screen: 4 1/4". Height from desk to top edge of Monitor: 16 1/4", and width of monitor: 21 1/4". The height of the monitor stand worked perfectly for me so I didnt need a separate stand. Initial impressions: The monitor comes in a basic plain cardboard box with some black graphics, nothing over the top. Packaging seemed adequate for the price point, standard foam protection wrapped in plastic. Assembly was straight forward, snapped together without issue. They left out markings for the connections, theres two HDMI connections but neither are marked, which one is HDMI 1 and 2? Small details left off to squeeze into the price bracket its in. Not a big deal, not like youll ever look at it again. The monitor stand, does its job well and looks pretty cool. Startup: Fortunately for me I didnt notice any dead or stuck pixels. Color and appearance: Out of the box black was very washed out to light grey. Horrible. Played around with the settings and decreased the brightness. The settings menu has a lot of depth and adjustments, I set mine to Gaming. The only negative thing I have to say about this monitor is in the Gaming mode it throws the number "60" up in the top right hand corner of the screen. Not sure why they did this but oh well, Ive gotten use to it. Another neat feature that I dont use is the monitor comes with built in crosshairs you can turn on, with a couple different versions. This wasnt mentioned in any of the information I read about it. Game play: Flawless as best as my aging eyes can tell, no issues. Im nearing the completion of yet another play through of the Mass Effect trilogy and game play has been spectacular. Coming from playing on an older Sony Bravia HD TV to this it does feel more responsive. Maybe its all in my head. In game movie cut scenes arent great, maybe something to do with "gamer" mode settings. Ive been using this monitor exclusively for the Xbox One, so I cant speak to how well it looks picture editing or such but based on the amount of settings it seems it would do fine as a standard desk top computer screen. I think this is a superb monitor for the price and Im very happy with its performance. Hope this helps.

Received this product pretty quickly, glad it came in one piece and no shipment issues what so ever. Pros Excellent build quality Amazing resolution and just the right refresh rate 2 HDMI Ports, along with other connections and connectivity for headphones or speakers directly into the monitor. Very sleek design Seemingly edgles design. Cons: The only true con I have had so far is the eye fatigue Ive become more aware of since using this monitor, as it is significantly more bright and colorful than my previous monitor I had been using for ages. I have pretty good vision 20/15 in right and 20/13 in left, so im not sure what the eye strain/fatigue is being caused by exactly but Im presume it is the brightness of the screen. After reading a couple articles and forums of possible causes. Ive disabled/turned down as many blue light settings as possible and that still did not fix it. Conclusion: Once I tried turning the brightness down it certainly helped tremendously with the eye strain and fatigue from 4+ hours of play. The monitor is great and I would 100% recommend it even with the only con Ive had so far with it. Thank you for taking your time to read my review and hope that you enjoy your new monitor.

These monitors are amazing if youre on a budget. Ive been using them for both Console (PS4) and PC. I really like the color on them. Ive owned Acer monitors before and these have the best color out of all the Acer ones Ive tried before. Also the refresh rate is pretty good for the price you pay. But the main focus is the color. You might have to adjust it a little to your liking. But theyre great. Ive owned two for 6 months. No issues.

Pros: 1. 1080p: gives me 144 FPS on ultra settings. This would not be possible with a 2K or 4K monitor, and this is the primary reason I stuck with 1080p. I sit 2 feet away from my Monitor and the picture is clear without noticing any pixels. 2. IPS: great color and viewing angles. You can see good contrast and details in black corners. My other monitor after Acer XFA240 had poor viewing angles (TN panel) and colors. 3. Good response times, (1ms) little input lag. You can look at the reviews on other benchmark sites, and they agree this Monitor is plenty fast. I didnt notice a difference between this and the TN panel at 144Hz. 4. Decent speakers. Although 2W each speaker, these are way louder than my other Monitor, the XFA240, which surprisingly had the same wattage rating but did not sound as loud. 5. Cross Hairs, multiple options. 6. Multiple profiles you can save to and quickly load. CONs: Not height adjustable, but has a Vesa mount so you can swap it out with another monitor mount or buy a better mount.

I like this monitor. I used it specifically for a game console. It has a great screen and awesome viewing angles, the colors dont flush away when youre looking at it at an angle and playing fast paced games works really well on this due to the small amount of input lag. Awesome value for money. Just wish it would come with some way to easily adjust volume.

No complaints with this monitor so far. Ive previously used ASUS 1080p 23" monitors (both TN and IPS). Not much different in terms of panel quality for everyday things. The minimal bezel puts it a notch above the others with chunky bezels. Speakers wont replace a good set of dedicated speakers, but they are perfectly fine for what they are. Naturally there is little bass, but mids and highs arent as terrible as Ive had with other monitor speakers. I dont know if its a universal thing, but for my laptop (AMD 8750m) and gaming PC (GTX 650 Ti), Ive had to fiddle with the graphics settings as the computer defaults leads a a vertical line effect on the picture quality. Setting it to 60Hz fixes the issues Ive had.

This is my first 144Hz monitor, and man what a difference. It has that IPS edge glow and the response time could be a bit better, but this is a HUGE upgrade over my previous ancient monitor from the mid 2000s anyway. FreeSync works like a charm with my GTX 1070. 144Hz with high framerates at 1080p is a glory to behold. The simple thing of smooth scrolling looks so much better than 60Hz. Its also blindingly bright. If you are after brightness, you hit the gold mine. I have to turn ot down to 30% so I dont go blind. Heh. The built in speakers are terrible though. Built in speakers for TVs/monitors are never great, but these might be the worst Ive ever heard. They sound like 90s budget laptop speakers. My speaker system died so I had to rely on them for a while. Good god. Get external speakers/headphones. Even with the drawbacks, its worth it. Ill update my review if it dies or if anything changes.

My previous 24-inch monitor was too big for my desk space. This one has nice color, looks great with the small bezels, and is just a great overall monitor for gaming, especially at this size. The controls are located at the back but are easy to maneuver. I also like the stylish stand it comes with; it adds a little flair for a gaming setup and has good tilt adjustability although no vertical slide, so you may need a monitor stand depending on your setup. Overall, I am very happy.

I cannot believe no one is raving about this monitor?!... this monitor is magnificent quality and if youre choosing not to purchase due to the non height adjustable mount, then youre definitely missing out. You can purchase a vesa mount for it if need be. Dont the specs on this monitor(IPS/HDR/1ms/144hz!). This Acer VG 271 144hz monitor worked perfectly out of the box and puts my non IPS 144hz monitor to shame.
