Ive never owned a projector in my home. Ive used them for work, but theyve always been less than stellar (bright, but low resolution). I was always afraid that you had to spend $1000s to get a quality projector to replace todays HDTVs. Not only that, I dont have a dark basement, so I was concerned about watching a projector in the middle of the day. This projector handles both issues with ease. BUT its not without its caveats. Picture quality. Is great, honestly. Its full 1080p with fluid motion and virtually no blur. Ive watched Blu-Rays, played PlayStation and football. While the clarity doesnt compare to my 65 inch 4K TV, (and honestly it shouldnt) I much preferred the 100 inch size of the projector screen. it changed the way I enjoy my content on TV. The projector has 4000 lumens, and all you need to know is thats extremely bright, and its bright enough to watch in your main living room or in other words, a room that isnt a dark basement. I will say that if you have lots of natural lighting, you might get a little washout with the projector, but I could say our bright room affected my 4K TV (at least a little bit) and I rarely watch TV during high noon so it didnt matter much. The caveat about picture quality, is a good screen. I projected my picture onto a white wall. Ive heard, and I assume, but dont know, that projecting onto a proper screen will make the picture look even better. I found the white wall to be suitable, but there were times (like when a of black is on the screen) that I wished I had a projector screen. But again, its a trade off for me, Im willing to sacrifice for a larger screen experience. Sound It has a built in speaker, but lets be honest, you absolutely must have a speaker system. Thats another caveat. While I always rely on external speakers, some people dont and rely on their TV speakers. You obviously "can" use the projectors speaker, but I dont recommend it. Im assuming if youre reading this review, you have your own sound system.

I purchased my VANKYO V600 to take with me to Africa to give lectures to nursing students. I wanted to be able to show video animations as I lectured. They said the room could be darkened, but I wanted to be prepared in case their “dark” was not my dark!. I wasn’t sure my VANKYO Leisure 3 Mini (which I love!) would be strong enough in a light room. I am 70 yrs old, and not tech savvy, but right out of the box this projector was intuitive to operate. I accidentally selected the incorrect language while playing around with the remote, but that was a quick fix. The menus were easy to navigate, and I quickly found my videos. Because I was going to a foreign country, and power sources are not reliable or plentiful, I wanted to be able to use a USB drive for my source instead of hoping my iPad would have enough juice. It works beautifully-the resolution is great and the sound excellent! The 4000 Lux brightness is perfect-I’m attaching a picture taken in daylight on a yellow wall. Now I know that I can both speak, draw on the chalkboard, and show videos without having to keep flicking the lights on and off ! I also like being able to adjust the size of the screen. Because it it supports 100V-240V, I do not need a power converter, just a simple “C” adapter for my country’s outlet. Simple and easy. The only frustrating part about this projector was the battery compartment on the remote. It is not hinged, and it is not a slide. I broke a nail trying to get it open. As a sidenote, based on my experience with my Leisure 3 Mini, I found the customer service to be quite excellent. The Mini was my first projector, and when I had questions, the response was patient, rapid and thorough. Kudos! It makes a good product even better.

Although unfamiliar with using a projector (beyond the classroom or for business), I was nonetheless fascinated by the possibilities of other uses, and curious as to the advancements in technology for this type of device. This VANKYO V600 Projector impressed me with its versatility, quality, and performance. This projector is more than simply a device for professional use. It can also be used for home cinema, as an alternative method for viewing entertainment content. Such as - in place of an actual TV. Yes. That’s right. Instead. Also, outside for fun on family movie night, kids sleepovers, holiday visual displays, etc. I tried the projector out with both my PC and PS4. Both performed beautifully. The instruction guide even states this projector can also be used with mobile media devices (smartphones/tablets) that support a particular cable/port connection. The quick setup instructions explain the various connections which are possible, and clearly state the necessary cables required, along with highlighting specific features. Of course, there is a remote control with easy-to-understand buttons which mimic several of the buttons on the top of the projector itself. The on-screen menu options are simple to navigate, allowing you to fine tune your settings. The projector has its own built-in speaker, which surprisingly, isn’t half bad. Though if you did have this machine set up outside or in a home cinema room, you might want to connect an external speaker. Picture quality - this model is 1080p - was pretty darn good. There are quite a few ways to adjust the image, beyond the height adjustment ‘foot’ or physical placement of the projector. As with any type of projector, this VANKYO projector puts out a bit of heat, so make sure the vent is unobstructed, and allow it to cool down before storing it away. All in all, I’m thoroughly enjoying my VANKYO Projector. If you are in the market for such a device, this one is certainly worth a look.

A little bulky compared to most. I bought a Xinda 1080p prior to this and the picture was great! but this projector has a crisp native 1080p as stated and the contrast 5000:1 makes gaming awesome for the price. I think a lot of people who buy projectors dont know how to center and adjust the projector in the appropriate position. They leave bad reviews due to their lack of experience. You can adjust the size of the screen from 100-1. The lower you go, the smaller the screen so if you have the projector too far theres no worries. The Xinda did not have that option as many others dont either. You pretty much have to put the projector in the exact position to fill border to border of you screen. Great projector! If the picture looks blurry its only because amazon didnt post it at its full resolution. The picture is beautiful. Lots of color but does need to be dark or semi dark to get its full potential. Stop looking and purchase this model. I looked for 3 days and gambled. I won on this purchase. Thank you! Update 03/13/19: The projector is still running strong with no issues. Fan is still very quiet and everyone loves the sharpness.

writing review after 2 weeks of usage initially it was disappointment to find out that remote is missing in the package. anyway they sent in 3 days later. another issue was audio is cut sometimes on switching back on. but it is not big issue as it comes back after pressing volume button on the remote. over all it is very satisfying purchase. the image is very bright and clear. audio is very good. the projector noise is not noticeable if the audio is on. there is no heating problem.

The V600 experience is not beyond reach. My impressions of the VANKYO will follow a bit further along, but first, I’ll describe my setup. Set the V600 projector up on any flat surface, approx 10’ feet away from a flat, white wall. (Zoom and Manual Focus provide flexibility; but, there are max/min limits.) Get a longer than typical HDMI cable and run it to your Blu-Ray or gaming player or computer. I used my DirecTv Satellite box. Setup took mere minutes. Ready. But, I didn’t stop here. Connecting my source player to an AVR (audio/video receiver) and then to the projector and to a set of home theater speakers, especially with a subwoofer, and I’m now in serious competition with the mall theater. How big can you get your image? Shockingly big if your room and wall provide enough space. This V600 is bright and fills a BIG screen if desired. But, keep in mind, you want to control light levels (dark is best). Science tells us projector light falls off as it gets further away from the screen. For the later part of my review, I eventually aimed onto a 10’ wide (16x9 ratio) projection screen. My comparison projector costs 7X the price of the V600 and is considered top tier in its price range. The V600 is going to be tested. The V600is a HD (1080p, or 1920 x 1080 native panel). I saw NO pixel grid from my close seating position. This was a smooth and sharp image. Connections are via 2, HDMI ports (1 x MHL) to connect your cable/satellite box, Blu-ray Disc player, gaming console or streaming device; it supports MHL-enabled smartphones and streaming sticks for mirroring and charging. Projection can be via Front / rear / ceiling mount. (Yes, the projector has the ability to flip and/or reverse the projected image.) It has a Built-in speaker. Nice for a board room or classroom. Lamp Life: I used for my setup which should yield up to 50,000 hours; Lens features: Optical and manual zoom and manual focus; Zoom 1.1-1.2. WHAT DID I SEE: I’ve lived with projectors in my home theater and in professional settings for decades. So, I know what to expect in various price ranges. I still get some surprises. I found myself “WOWing” while I watched the V600 because of the quality I was seeing at this $249 price. I also found myself wanting more, because there are limitations at the price. If you want to set this up in a room where controlling light is going to be difficult, not to worry. This bright image won’t compete against sun streaming into the room, but it will do nicely with the lights dimmed. Let’s try a movie. Revenant, with it’s natural scenery, brightly lit day and challenging nighttime scenes, human faces, fine details, and frequent camera pans all provide good examples of how the V600 processes images. I thought the bright lit scenes were handled well. Without any extended calibration, skin tones were decent and colors were fine. Colors pop rather nicely in brightly lit scenes. Let’s pop in an animated film. WOW, like I said. You need reasonable expectations. This is a wonderful image. Sharp. Bright. Colorful. Artifact free. And really a great value. How to rate this VANKYO V600? Is it a disappointment because it can’t outperform a $3000+ projector? If I’m a teacher/professor/professional looking for a projector that can serve as a lecture hall film/photo projector and I can take it home for the kids or a weekend sporting event, I’m blown away. If I’m a gamer who’d love to bring the friends over for a genuine gaming experience up on a wall or for sharing a movie, we’re all blown away. And, although I described a nice home theater setup earlier, this projector is up and ready to go in a few minutes. If you’re thinking about a dedicated theater experience with a steady diet of Sci-Fi, you probably want to spend more . . . 2 to 3X more. This projector, when used for purposes where it excels, is remarkable.

"This VANKYO projector is great and offers multiple ways to connect to it to display content. While this projector is primarily intended for displaying presentations, documents or other material from a computer, phone or tablet it works great for media as well but is a clear winner when it comes to displaying presentations or documents. In the box, is a remote, power cord, carry case bag, HDMI and AV cable which is pretty much all thats needed to get it connected to a computer. That said, I was hoping to see an adapter for some of these newer laptops that use HDMI. There are 2 HDMI ports for video and audio. The USB Port offers a number of configuration options for connecting to a computer, recommend checking the manual for your desired configuration/setup. For the image quality and brightness, this projector is bright and displays colors vividly. The fan is largely quiet but can be heard and is very very quiet which does also offer the benefit of extending the lamp life nearly double and puts off less heat. The built-in speaker is good for speech type audio like from a presentation. The menus are easy to navigate and the projector is easy to setup/configure either using the remote or the keys on the projector itself. Setup of the screen is super easy so that you can adjust the image output to fit the screen. This projector is perfect in terms of portability/size and being able to offer a good number of connectivity options while still being able to output a bright and vivid picture. Overall, Id definitely recommend this projector to anyone looking for one thats compact that offers a bright and vivid picture for versatile use scenarios in presentations, and sharing content from a computer, phone or tablet. It does work just fine for video if you have presentations that have video. Great projector overall!"

So, I live in a duplex with one giant wall, and a really awkward floor plan. One of my friends recommended I get a projector. Turns out, it was an awesome idea. I first looked at some projectors in the $1800 range, and then I looked at mini projectors in the $100 range. The problem with the mini projectors is they only project in standard resolution. That is fine, if you arent projecting a very large image. I had a big ol’ wall, and wanted to make the most of it. The vankyo brand seemed to be the most popular mini projector on here, so I took the leap of faith with their 1080p full size projector; even though it didn’t have a lot of reviews yet. Seriously, so glad I did. I wall mounted it, roughly 18 feet from the wall I am projecting it to. I have it on a double glass shelf (fits perfectly on the 11x15 glass shelving units), with my switch and all my switch controllers above it, and a fire stick plugged in to the other HDMI port. Seriously the most perfect entertainment set up. I am currently projecting a 170 inch image, in 1080p. My friends keep joking that I should charge theater admission. I already had black out curtains, and am able to use it in the day; as long as the curtains are pulled. In a pitch black room, the colors are incredible. Since my wall was slightly tan, I just put it on the cool color setting, and it looks shockingly good. Especially for under $300. This entire unit was less than a replacement bulb of some of the bigger brands. That was a huge selling factor for me, and if it works as advertised the LED bulb will far outlast traditional types. I plan to set up a 5.1 sound system, but have been watching movies nonstop using just the built in audio. It gets fairly loud, and can fill a room with sound surprisingly well. The fan is audible in completely silent scenes, but it’s far less loud than a floor far. I didn’t even know it had built in audio when I bought it, so that was a pleasant surprise. I have been watching nature shows nonstop on it, and giant Mario Kart was a hit amongst my friends. After focusing, and keystoning and wallmounting it perfectly; I doubt I will ever use the travel case. It is well made, and would definitely be useful for business presentation or classroom use. Seriously awesome.

This review is for the VANKYO Performance V600 Native 1080P LED Projector. In a nutshell, I couldn’t be happier with the performance and value of the VANKYO Performance V600! We’ve watched five 1080p movies on it so far (on a 120” screen) and the picture quality is excellent. At 4,000 lumens it’s bright enough to watch even during the day in a darkened room. No need for a pitch black environment like you need for the 2,000 lumen class projectors. Great vibrant/realistic colors and saturation at 12’ back from the 120” screen. The internal (single) speaker is quite good and would be adequate for a business presentation, but for movie titles we connected (via the 3.5mm jack port) a powered external speaker to simulate the theater experience with plenty of bass. I put a few titles on a USB flash drive to test compatibility and it played most of the files (all h.264 encodes with E-AC3 5.1 channel audio). It also successfully played mp4 video from my Bugs drone… it was awesome playing the 1080p drone video on the 120” screen- it felt like we were in a helicopter over my house! Some random points…. -Very simple remote included, the projector has IR receivers on both the front and rear so it will pick up remote commands no matter where you are in relation to the projector. -Two USB ports on the rear of the projector: one is for data (for playing content off a USB flash drive) the other is just for power (to power a USB device). The “power only” USB port is clearly marked “5V”. I used it to power a Raspberry Pi (connected to the projector’s HDMI port) for playing content vs. off a USB flash drive. -On the side of the projector there is an “AV” port next to the 3.5mm stereo audio out jack. A 4 conductor “AV” breakout cable is provided by the manufacturer that will give you composite video and 2-channel audio out to standard RCA plugs. -A really well made and handy carry case is also provided by the manufacturer. It’s got an inside pocket to store the remote (I suggest you remove the two AAA batts from the remote to prevent accidental use/battery discharge while inside the case). An outside pocket is provided for cable storage. -An SD cardslot is located on the side of the projector- didn’t try it, but I assume it’s mainly for photos not video. -Standard VGA port on the back of the projector for PC input. -A standard HDMI cable is provided by the manufacturer. -Cooling fan noise is not objectionable once you start playing anything with an audio track. If you’re just displaying still photos you will probably hear it, but again it’s not objectionable/overly loud. -Keystone adjustment is located on the lens barrel right behind the focus ring. -Top mounted projector control buttons are nice in a non-dark room, but not really useful in a darkened environment. -There are some picture adjustments that can be made via the menu, I left everything on default because the video quality was great right out of the box. I did set the audio to “Movie” mode for added bass. -You can electronically adjust the picture size down to 75% of original size via the menu. Saves you from displaying video off the screen if you can’t move the projector back from the screen in a small room. Very useful feature! My Wish list for this projector: Illuminated Remote and BT connectivity for remote speaker. Other than the two "wish list" items... easily a 5 -Star rated projector!

This VANKYO projector is a great presentation projector, and is also a capable video projector. It is capable in any role from the solo visiting presenter to enterprise class presentations. While its not really a home theater projector, its no slouch in that role either. It offers multiple methods to display content using a computer, smartphone, or memory stick as a source device. The image quality is absolutely first rate. The image is very bright, sharp, with deep, saturated colors. Projection in a conference room with the lights on was perfectly acceptable. The menu system is very easy to navigate and very intuitive. The buttons on the projector are double duty, depending on whether youre navigating a setup/configuration menu or presenting, which minimizes the clutter. Or you can use the remote. The remote can double as a wireless mouse during presentations (NOTE: Im a PC guy and this is a PC thing). One really nice feature is the ability to plug in a memory stick with jpegs or avis and play them directly. No computer required. If youre simply presenting pictures, like a travelog, memorial, or simply a photo-share, this makes it really easy. The photos can be advanced on demand or by timer. The fan is pretty quiet, and the projector doesnt put out a lot of heat. The built in speaker is adequate for speech presentation, but thats about it. In terms of portability, size, connectivity, and of course presentation quality, this projector will be hard to beat. It scales very well in uses from small single presenters to multi presenter (and even multi location presenter) applications. Good job, VANKYO! Recommended!
