I was a little reserved in my expectations for only spending $200 on a projector. When I opened it up I was really shocked by the excellent build quality of this machine. It comes with all of the necessary cable for hook up, including an HDMI cable and remote. Its really easy to set up and get it running; once you do youll be blown away by the picture quality. I have a 120" screen which with this projector requires about 12 ft throwing distance. At the 120" size the picture is still very sharp and vibrant. The colors are fairly accurate right out of the box but you can adjust all of the settings via the software built into the projector. The picture quality really really impressed me but I was most impressed by the sound. Let me tell you there is no need to worry about external speakers to use with this. The speakers sound amazing! It projects the sound to a point were you almost forget its only coming from the projector. At the end of the day, Im extremely satisfied with the purchase. For only $200 this is hands down the best projector for the money.

If youre at this price point, this is a solid choice. Man cave, theatre room on a budget, portable party projector - this fits the bill. I have it set up 9 feet from my 100" projector screen and its the best picture of several $200-or-less projectors Ive tried. I use it indoors. It looked good on the table and then after I mounted it on the wall. The focus dial is a little hard to spin, but works very well. The second dial that adjusts the keystone correction is a HUGE feature (adjusted the "slanted/skewed" look that you get if the projector is lower or higher than the vertical mid-point of the surface you point it at). There is a leg in the front that adjusts the height quite a bit and is easy to use. I watch in a dimly lit room but it is acceptable quality and watchable with a light on - my ceiling light is right in front of it and the picture is still decent when its on. Again, best for its price range. Like many projectors at this price, it is hard to get both text and pictures to be equally focused. So the focus setting that makes my football game look crisp, ends up making the text on the screen a little rough. I personally dont care, but it would be nice if that didnt happen. Please note, if youre new to projector shopping: *If youre committed to a $200 or less budget like I was, expect you are not gonna get the Ultra HD 4K whatever experience. You are gonna have to jump to the next price band of $500 and up to get what modern flatscreen LED TVs give you. So suck it up and pay more, or understand that at $200 this is still a better value than a $800+ flat screen TV. Besides, youre in it for the size, simplicity, and still-cheaper-than-a-new-TV price, right? So own it. *You are NOT getting a 1080p picture out of an output device that only operates at 720 or less. This projector and others like it *support* 1080p meaning if you have a blu-ray or other high end device that pumps out 1080, youll get 1080. If you are watching non-HD cable or using an old video game system like the Wii, a projector is not going to magically upgrade the picture to 1080 quality for you. *This projector kicks out heat and noise to the right-hand side of it (if you are staring at the light, which I wouldnt recommend). The fan has to pump hard to cool it. Plan accordingly - dont sit on that side OR better yet wall or ceiling mount it. *Invest in a Silver Ticket screen. Those cheap flimsy "foldable" screens will disappoint you. Best decision I made, and again, still combined costs less than half what a flatscreen TV (at half this size) would cost. *If you need to plug more than 2 HDMI cables into this, get an HDMI switch. I also suggest an extra long HDMI cable. Finally, the power cord on this is not super long so if youre wall or ceiling mounting this keep that in mind.

Why did I buy this? During my research for a mini portable projector (which Im still researching) I came across the VANKYO Leisure 510. It only had 19 reviews at the time but they were all 5 star and the stated brightness capability caught my eye. So, I placed a price watch on this projector and continued on with my mini projector research. Within only a few days the price dropped to $170. Now I already own a budget projector that was $200 new and while I have enjoyed watching it I have always yearned for a little more brightness so it would be more enjoyable to watch during the day. With the 90 day no questions asked return policy and 3 year warranty (nobody offers one this long!) I decided I had nothing to lose. If it didnt significantly outperform my current projector I could send it back. Well, I am pretty happy with this projector. Its not as bright as I would have liked but, as you can see from the pictures, I can easily watch it during the day. The picture I took of the football game was with all my blinds open next to and on the opposite wall of the screen. No problem watching this. The other picture was taken with the blinds shut. The pictures dont do justice to the actual images. They were taken with my phone using autofocus. I really wanted to demonstrate brightness more than anything. I was streaming xfinity TV though my laptop with about a 110 inch picture. Also, I setup the projector using a test pattern you can find on youtube and the settings are brighter and sharper than the Dynamic setting that is one of the presets on the projector. Ive got to say Im quite happy: brighter and sharper than my other projector. Oh, the fan is so, so quiet. I can sit right next to it and when youve got any audio going at all the fan is imperceptible. Finally, the case is quite nice, easily worth $20. I had to buy a backpack for my other projector. I hope this review helps some of you decide.

I was hesitant about purchasing this projector due to the low price. But I decided to give it a shot. Boy, am I happy I did. I purchased it to replace my older Optoma DV10 DLP projector which I paid $1,000 for approx 10 years ago. Man, has technology improved over the years. The Vankyo Leisure 510 doesn’t disappoint. The picture is bright and crisp with vibrant colors to boot. The build is solid as well. Doesn’t feel or look like a low priced projector. Extremely easy to setup as well. If you don’t have a surround sound system there’s no need to worry. This projector has built in stereo speakers with the option to select a surround sound mode. The internal speakers sound very good on their own and produce enough volume. If your hesitant like I was because of the low price tag don’t be. You won’t find a better bang for the buck unless your willing to spend 2-3 times more! Will definitely be having more movie nights with the family now. It has dual HDMI and USB ports. One of the USB ports is a 5 volt output port which can be used to power your Firestick, Chromecast or Roku stick. This enables you to power your stick right from the rear of the projector without having to run any long cables to plug it into an external power source. It also has a VGA and Micro SD card port as well. So, if your on a budget and don’t want to break the bank then this projector is for you. You won’t regret it! I almost forgot to mention that it also comes with a very nice padded storage/carry case that houses the projector, remote, power cord and the included HDMI and standard red, white, & yellow RCA AV cables. The Projector also has a headphone jack. Once again, I’m very satisfied with this purchase. Can’t say how long the projector will last but I’m not too concerned considering the low price plus the fact that it comes with a 3 year warranty. I wanted to point out that the Avatar video I uploaded is going to look grainy due to Amazon compresses all videos that are uploaded. However, the video is actually crystal clear. Lastly, I wanted to let everyone know that this projector can in fact be ceiling mounted. I bring this up because 1 customer left a 1 star review stating that it couldn’t be mounted from the ceiling due to there are no mount/screw holes on the bottom of the projector. This is not true. In order to mount the projector from the ceiling you have to remove the 4 small rubber legs from the bottom of the projector. Once the screws are removed you will see there are 4 open screw slots to attach it to a ceiling mount. Happy projecting everyone. Enjoy!

I bought this to use outside while lounging in the hot tub or while having a BBQ party. I wasnt expecting much, just something that might provide a little bit of entertainment. After opening the package I was actually more than a little startled at the quality of the carry case and then of the projector. I work for a software company and we frequently have to do presentations at customer sites, so Im familiar with portable projectors and I could swear that this thing by all appearances is comparable to the expensive name brand projectors my company buys. I hooked it up with a thumb drive with a few videos on them since it has a built in player and was very impressed with not only the quality of the video, but, the sound and usability as well. I was only showing on wall (painted a pale yellow) and even then the picture was a crisp and vibrant as the wall would allow. Time will tell, but, as far as I can tell, this is definitely a keeper and well worth what I spent on it. And for the record, I do not work for the manufacturer, distributor, or Amazon I frequently do post reviews on Amazon and at no time do any of my reviews reflect anything other than my honest opinion (good or bad).

This replaced my old expensive DLP native 1080p projector that was on its last leg. It was going to cost me $300-400 to replace the lamp and DLP chip in the old unit. This projector is actually bigger and heavier than my last one. I thought it would be cheaply made. The only issues I’ve found on it are minor: 1. the power cord is slightly loose. It’s not falling out, but it doesn’t fit snugly either. 2. The keystone is a adjusted by manual wheel behind the focus wheel. When adjusted, the corners of the picture became a little blurry, while the center was still in focus. I fixed this by adjusting the keystone to have a slight slant. The entire picture is clear now, but the screen is at a slight slant. Not a big deal though, especially for the price. I’ve been running it for the last 4 hours and it’s extremely quiet and and very cool still. The fans blow out a bit of heat, but it’s not noticeable unless your hand is almost touching it. I attached mine to a Bluetooth transceiver right out of the box, and am listening over a good sound system, so I can’t comment on the quality of the on board speakers. But it sounds great though my system, and there is no lag. This can give you HD 1080p but it is a native HD 760p, which is what I keep it set at, because it looks great. It’s also very bright, and while all projectors look best in the dark, for obvious reasons, you can definitely watch in a lit room as well. Since I just got it today, I can’t comment on how long it will last, but for $200 (and a manufacture 3 year warranty, according to the description), even if it dies after a few years it will be well worth the money. If you’ve been researching all the different options like I did, and feeling overwhelmed, I suggest you get this one.

I want to start off and say I’m not a big projector person. I don’t know a lot about them technically wise but know good ones are very very expensive. What you get here is a very low priced projector with 720p native resolution. Yes it can scale to 1080 but it’s not a true 1080. That being said the quality is surprisingly better then I expected. I have this projector about 11 feet from a slate gray colored wall with no screen and it’s around 110-120 inches I believe. You can notice some frame issues during some sports but I didn’t really think it was a deal breaker. Colors aren’t terribly vivid but they’re there, I’ve saw this in other projectors so it might just be a projector thing. Anime, my Nintendo switch, and sit com style tv shows played pretty well. Speaking of my Nintendo switch and this projector. I saw almost NO latency when testing out a few games. I need to do more testing but this is what pushed me to the five star review. The controls moved when I wanted them to which was a big fear since most projector interject a ton of latency. Being able to play d3 on Friday on a 120 inch screen has me geeked. I still need to do more testing but I’m hoping it stays this fluid. Sound quality is okay. It’s definitely loud but a little muddled for what I was playing. I won’t be needing to add anymore peripherals sound wise to this. Quality wise, it seems built fairly well. I was shocked that it was heavier and bigger form factor then I was expecting. This is about the size of a standard college text book and weighs the same. Should you buy it? You’re okay with 720p and not 1080 or 4@ native resolution. You want to try a decent projector that isn’t 800x400 or some abysmal resolution. You don’t want to spend 1000$ out the gate if projectors don’t end up being for you. They offer a 3 month full refund and a relatively good warranty.

This projector is outstanding and would strongly recommend. A friend of mine spent around $700 on a projector and it made me want to purchase one. Since $200 was my price range I started to look at this projector. The quality of this projector is the same if not better than the $700 dollar one. The sound is great and can be heard easily throughout my entire basement and the picture quality is phenomonal. There is also little to no noise coming from the projector which once you start watching something you completely forget about it. I would strongly recommend buying this projector not only because of the price but the quality as well. The photo and video compares it to a 32 inch tv.

I ordered the Vankyo Leisure 510 projector along with the Vankyo Aluminum Tripod Stand. I am the head coach for a HS volleyball team and I needed a way to review game film with the team and I kept running into problems at school – network connectivity, few open classrooms with projector screens, etc. So I researched and found the Vankyo series to be highly rated and reasonably priced. The order arrived fast and I used it that day to review game film with the team. It worked perfectly! I had to project it onto a white cinderblock wall and it worked great! – easily clear enough to point out errors and issues on the film. It also kept its clarity even though I projected it to a huge size – roughly 12ft x 12ft! It really had an impact on the team to see their gameplay that large. I have used standard projectors in classrooms over the years for volleyball and the Vankyo is really sturdy. I carry it in my backpack twice a week to review game film with the team, so it gets thrown into my Jeep and projected onto different surfaces all the time and still maintains clarity. It has several ways to hook up and I always use the HDMI connections. My only negative is the weight. I wish it was lighter, but for the quality, it is worth it. I highly recommend it and on a scale of 1-10, I give it a 9.5.

I was looking for an inexpensive, portable projector for seminars and outings. My old Sharp projector from 2008, while it still works great, is heavy and is missing some some ports found in newer devices, namely HDMI port. Rather than plunk down another $1,000 for a comparable replacement, I happen to see this unit while researching portable screens. While still not perfect, the LED projectors gotten a lot better from its inception several years ago. This Vankyo unit, the specs and the features were pretty good ,especially for the price. As with projectors and flashlights, you have to take it with grain of salt when it comes to believing manufacturers claim of Lumen ratings for their products. Not like earlier LED projectors with weak light output, this projector puts out quite good amount of light to display decent, pretty usable images on portable screen. It comes with a nice soft case, HDMI cable, remote, RCA to mini-jack cable, and built-in speakers with surprisingly loud and clear sound volume, such that you dont need separate powered audio output source unless you are presenting in a very large room. One big advantage of LED unit over traditional projectors are that its unlikely that you will wear out the LED projectors; whereas, with traditional projectors, the replacement bulbs are quite expensive. Some bigger projector replacement bulbs cost even more than the cost of this projector itself. Furthermore, when your projector gets older, replacement bulbs are harder and more expensive to find. Usually Epson brand projector replacement bulbs are quite reasonable, whereas Sony, Panasonic and other brands are rather expensive. Additional advantages of LED projector is that it runs much cooler and therefore, much quieter than traditional projectors. It is also much lighter in weight. When traveling, every bit of weight saving helps. The build and image quality, while not stellar and stout like more expensive commercial projectors, it is plenty good enough for most personal and commercial applications except for use in very large auditoriums. And the price is fantastic for what you get in terms of features and usability.
