The player that was shipped to me was the model S1700 rather than S1500. I don’t think there is much difference either way, and regardless, this is an excellent player. I have British Blu Ray restoration of the Horror of Dracula that would not play on either of my other region free players, but on this one it plays perfectly. I have tried a number of British and Italian DVDs that I own, and all play correctly. As for the player itself, it is quite good. I have a similar Sony Blu Ray that have served me well for several years. The player is much more compact than it appears in the photo, being only about 9” wide x 7” deep. It comes pre-installed with a number of internet players such as Prime Video, Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, etc. The biggest downside is that it does not have wireless internet access; I run Ethernet throughout my house, so it is no issue for me, but if wireless internet is a requirement, you should pass on this player, otherwise this is an excellent region-free player.

This is an excellent no-nonsense, no-frills multi-region blu-ray player. I have higher-end players for 4K and diverse audio format playback, however region coding restricted me to region A/1 playback. This little player (physically) has opened up for me a whole new range of options by enabling playback of Region B discs. Blu ray and dvd discs unavailable in region A/1 are now an option, frequently at cheaper costs and equal or better quality. This specific model is not Wi-Fi, but there is a Wi-Fi model available. Very happy with this purchase.

Im very happy with this Blu Ray Player. I bought it to be able to play DVDs in PAL format from Region 4. Works great. Conversion from NTSC to PAL is seamless and picture is great.
