Samsung UBD-K8500 UBD-KM85C Wi-Fi 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Player (Renewed)

I originally hesitated ordering this player because of some of the bad reviews, but buying refurbished is definitely the way to go. Its been a few months now and i have had no major issues, only minor complaints. The most obvious flaw is the build quality....not a deal breaker, but just something to be aware of. For instance, as others have stated, the disc tray is a bit flimsy but works fine. Another thing i noticed is how it handles scratched discs. Instead of skipping, the screen will go black when it has trouble reading the disc, but it will read some pretty scratched up discs. These issues are nit picking, but someone may find it useful to know. The really good thing is how well this player works! Boot up is really fast as well as initial disc read time. Picture quality is second to none, as well as audio quality. Really so many good qualities about this player to list so if your on the fence, just buy it, you wont regret it.

This is an amazing 4-K Blu-ray player with built in Internet streaming and the picture quality is incredibly Vivid!! Even NON-4K Blu-ray movies and DVDs are upscaled to near 4K quality with an incredible Vivid picture. The internet streaming capabilities such as Netflix are also upscaled to 4-K viewing and I absolutely love this product!! The ONLY downside I seem to have with this is every time I turn on the player I have to keep connecting to WiFi when using the internet streaming but I simply just plugged in the Ethernet cable into the back of it and dont have to worry about that anymore.. I absolutely love it! This is a true 4K Blu-ray player and upscaler for everything else

I am in love with 4k! We just bought a 65" 4k 3D tv and I we needed this to go with it obviously. Setup was a breeze, the player is not loud at all, and the 4k movies look great. The player is slim and not an eyesore. We have not had any issues with it and it does exactly what it should. A+

Machine looks like new, still has original plastic protection skin attached, Im not sure its ever been out of the box. Works great so far - stumbles on a home made tape to disc transfer copy, but commercial disc of DVD and Blu Ray work great (dont own a 4k disc to test it with yet). Outer box makes no mention of WIFI capability on this KM85C but it is noted on the plastic protection skin of the actual device and WIFI setup popped-up during initial setup and seems to work fine. Delivered was on time in original box without external shipping carton (one corner was a little crushed, but device seems okay). Thx.

This is an amazing 4K Blu ray player. If you have 4K UHD TV, it is essential to use 4K blu ray player instead of the regular blu ray player. As many people said, the remote controller is kind of weird. This is the most important part: this is compatible with 50Hz Blu-ray content . I heard many Samsung blu ray player can play 50Hz Blu-ray content. Some of the all-region blu ray was authorized in 50 Hz which cannot be played from many of USA blu ray player (such as Sony). Now I can watch those all region blu ray player. I am so glad to have this.

though i just got it (refurbished) it is great. the picture and sound are amazing. even though i dont have any 4k blu-ray movies yet, i can only imagine how much better it will play with a 4k disc. the buttons on the unit itself r so sensitive you barely have to touch them and they respond. and even though i dont have a samsung tv, the second the unit is powered on, it switches my tv input to the blu-ray player. it doesnt switch it back when the unit is powered off though. also, the users manual was not in the box, probably because it was refurbished. amazon was very quick to email the manual to me. instanly. and the remote is so tiny its hard to hit the right button

we have a 4K resolution TV and this works exactly as expected. The upscaling from a blu-ray is fantastic. the playing of a 4K disc is even more distinctive. No problems playing any disc, so we havent had the "gotta upgrade the software so we can play that disc" problem.

For 109.99 I just wanted something to learn how to use newer tech. We can now do things like netflex. Our old blue ray from 12 years ago or so was failing some so we tried this on the cheap. So you know the old blurays old picture quality is nothing compared to this. Getting surround sound to match the experience of this player now. We would buy this again and may just do that for the bedroom. For 109.99 i expect to get a clunker but i will return it and keep trying until i find a good one.
