Ok, it plays discs. But it is irritating to live with. The biggest problem is that there is no eject button on the unit. Only on the remote. Get up to go change the disk and you have to take the remote with you. This is utterly ridiculous. Samsung, spend the fifty cents it takes to put in an eject button. The second irritating thing is the user interface. It looks like it was designed by and for three-year-olds. First time Ive been really disappointed with a Samsung product. Edited, after a couple months: downgraded to one star. Now it refuses to play certain perfectly good discs. Avoid. IMO

Looked like a great unit with original packaging. My kids were excited to get their streaming shows back after our last player wore out. Too bad this refurb unit didnt even turn on. Just a little click of the drive when you plug it in and then... nothing. Remote controlled my Samsung TV perfectly but got no response from the player. Top buttons did nothing either. I even tried putting the player firmware on a USB stick and letting it power on with that. Nothing. Contacted the seller and... nothing. Back this goes, thank you Amazon for making that part as painless as possible. For $20 more, I got a brand new Sony player with equivalent features elsewhere.
