For s simple Blu-Ray player, this little dandy delivers exactly as it should. For a refurb at refurb prices, it was a grand slam steal! Its web connected - IF YOU HAVE A WIRE. There is no wireless, and Im OK with that. I knew what I was buying. My TV handles all the web connectivity. There is a USB port that will play a number of formats. Ive only tried .MP4 for giggles. It works, but my TV does that too (and better). The real benefit to the USB port is the ability to do the firmware upgrades without being web connected. Go to the Samsung website, download your firmware to the USB drive, pop it in, and follow the instructions. Simple. It doesnt upconvert to 4k. I was aware of this as well. I didnt need it, since my TV also does that (and remarkably well). My only complaint, if its that, is that it is a little light. if you have a disc that isnt balanced (and it happens) it can get a little noisy from the vibration it causes. You can usually shift it around to eliminate it pretty quickly. Its also so light that the cord will lift and push it around if the cord is in a bind (like being balled up in a media cabinet). It would also be nice if I could turn off the web items icons (like Netflix and Hulu) since Im not using them. They dont hurt anything or take up otherwise needed space. Im just picky like that. [And for those who may ask, my TV is a 55" 4K Samsung flat from Sams Club. Paid about $600 for it new. A remarkable set for the money spent. Samsung plays well with other Samsung products.]

Its great, just one problem. In software, there is a protection so it WILL NOT PLAY data on a disc. THIS IS A HUGE DEAL BREAKER AND NOT STATED ANYWHERE. AVOID THIS ITEM AS IT HAS ANOTHER STUPID DRM. cant play my halloween vids on here or family stuff. screw you samsung. only USB is useful and the networking mode is a waste of energy.

Although it doesnt have a light showing whether the power is on or not, this DVD/Blu-ray player does the job. All we needed was something to play DVDs and Blu ray discs. If thats all you need, this will do the job.

Works great and has easy set up. The system update did cause it to freeze and after waiting 30 minutes for it to load the install I had to unplug it to reset. It doesnt have any power indication light and its super quiet so You cant tell if its on/off. **Update** After having this Blu-Ray player for 14 months, I have to say my original review stands, but I havent had a single problem with using this product. The disk tray has never gotten stuck, and besides being a little slow to open & start up, Ive used it without issue. I dont use this player for streaming services, as I have an Apple Tv and a Roku at different Tvs in my house. I am going to purchase this item again, as it is the only working Blu-ray player in my house. (That said it is an easily transferred item from room to room when necessary.)

Very satisfied with this purchase. Beautiful picture and great connection to the internet. Who needs cable TV, when you can get HULU and Netflix! Blu Ray and DVD pictures are wonderful. No problems yet and I dont foresee any. Thanks. Much better deal also than with Ebay!

For the first couple days, it worked fine. Then it wouldnt play a couple older DVDs, so we thought it was just a formatting issue or something. Now it wont play almost every DVD we own, whether its 10 years old or brand new. Should have returned it when we had the chance. Also, it does not have a light to indicate if its on or not, and you have to press the eject button 2-3 times before it will respond. Terrible piece of junk

Purchased this for my first blu-ray player. Its so much more than I expected! Our television is a Samsung, so the tv remote fully controls the Blu- Ray. The player has apps built in for Netflix, Hulu, etc. so our tv is now fully set up for streaming. Will definitely be purchasing another for our den!

I own 2 of these and the only reason I dont give 5 stars is theres NO led to let you know its on! Also, why 2 power buttons?? Good luck finding the eject button on the remote...aside from that, it has a TON of apps and doesnt take up much space...once I can get it "on", it performs flawlessly.

an excellent buy and an excellent company handling the refurbishing. I am very happy with my purchase .As I have the big fire tv box and a Roku I dont use the "smart" features as a person without such things would they are still nice to have choices and they work fine. My remote did arrive without a battery door and I contacted the company and the replacement appeared almost immediately. Oh and I saved half the price. That is the same as doubling my income only much easier.

I would give 5 stars except that it requires a hard wire to connect to the internet. And a blu ray player really doesnt need to be connected to the internet...i just need it to play discs. Yet because I wont run a wire from the player to my modem, other features on my t.v. like Netflix and Hulu, wont work because this blu ray player pops up an error message. I literally have to unplug the players HDMI cord to get my tv to work with the internet. Ridiculous.
