The software that this comes with is next to impossible. We still cannot get it to scan. Tried calling customer support for assistance and was on hold so long that I had to hang up. Before the person transferred me I explained that I cannot get this thing to work because its to complicated and he kind of chuckled. They must be getting a lot of calls like this.

Do not buy! This printer is being used as a door stop in my office because it is incredibly undependable and cannot be used with DHCP and has the worst network connectivity of any printer I have purchased in 30 - years. It will be a constant headache and there is no way to scan from the computer due to the incredibly bad networking capabilities of this printer and it refuses to access the extra 500 - pave paper feeder, purchasing that was a major mistake. Xerox provides the worst support (almost as bad as HPs support. Do yourself a favor and avoid ALL Xerox printers or any printers offered on Amazon if you are using them for a business. These printers will not work with any of the popular routers and unless you set a static IP address, it will not work the second the leased DHCP IP address expires.

I liked all the features of the printer and the copier and the scanner. It was a great printer while it was working. Then one day without warning it stops. Now I understand this is assembly line electronics, so they are bound to have a few problems. I always feel that as a consumer patience is the way to take care of this, after all if the company meticulously checked everything part before shipping it wed never be able to afford it. What I do expect however is a response when I go through the trouble of looking up their warranty and how to file a claim, I expect some sort of answer. So far Ive received not so much as an acknowledgement that I even exist. If that changes Ill amend this review.

Update 5/13/2018: The printer is now giving an unrecoverable error. Apparently it cannot access the HDD and its unusable. I get the privilege of calling Xerox, again, and having them come out and fix it, again. This is unacceptable for a printer that is only 8 months old with only 12,000 prints. Once this printer is out of warranty and breaks down, Im going to take a baseball bat to it and go with another brand. I will never purchase another Xerox printer again. ****** Previous review: 2 of 5 stars I purchased this machine in September and it broke down in March (about 7 months). After contacting Xerox customer support, it took them over a month and a half to fix the problem because the part was on back order. Perhaps the engineers need to go back to the drawing board on this one. On the bright side, the printing quality is fine and fast enough for me. In addition, there are some other problems experienced: 1) The wireless networking functions are spotty, at best. Ive spent hours on end trying to figure out what the problem is and it all came back to the Wifi. On a hard wire, this thing is fairly rock solid, but with Wifi, it fails miserably. 2) The Google printing function does not work. Again, Ive spent about 8 hours trying to figure this one out, and it just doesnt work. This is one of the biggest reasons why I purchased this printer. The fact that it doesnt work was a huge let down. 3) Setting this thing up is a beast. In addition, trying to set user permissions is a huge pain in the rear end. I still have a hard time understanding how I was actually able to accomplish this task. 4) The duplex print function worked fine at first. This was another big reason why I purchased this machine. Now, the machine jams more often than not. Ive only got about 12,000 prints out of this thing and its already failing in this area. 5) One set of genuine standard capacity toner cartridges costs $428. The basic printer costs $349 and the full featured printer costs $449. The cost for toner replacements is outrageous when compared to the cost of the machine. The only reason why I give this machine two stars is because after a month and a half, Xerox finally came through and fixed the darn thing. I get that sometimes parts are on back order, but we took a financial hit using other printers for a month and a half because this thing was down. Overall, I cannot recommend purchasing this until Xerox fixes the many flaws in this machine.

I bought this printer in March of 2018. At first I thought it was great; relatively easy to set up and use. Fast, good quality printing. Then I started having problems. By fall I had to have Xerox techs come out 3 times to fix the same problem - a terrible grinding noise that wouldnt stop unless I turned off the unit. Each time the tech had to order a replacement part and the process would take a week or more to get fixed. Xerox finally issued a replacement after the 3rd occurrence. I received a refurbished unit and almost immediately began getting an error message that rendered it useless. Tech came out and spent an hour with phone support trying to work through the issue. Finally got it working. Now, a couple of months later Im having the same issue with this printer that I had with the original one - that terrible grinding noise. I run a small business and my printing needs are low to moderate; we are not printing heavy volume by any means. Having had the same issue with two different units of this model I would definitely avoid this printer.

bought this printer for my son for Christmas. Unfortunately there was NO power cord, leaving the printer useless. I have called both Xerox and Amazon several times. Xerox says this is Amazons problem because they bought it through a client of Xerox. Amazon says not their problem its Xeroxs problem. So here we sit with an expensive, useless printer for Christmas. I am so disappointed in both Xerox and Amazon.

Great PRINTER... copy/scan feature is junk. I bought this as a home MFP and produced 129 "images". Xerox wants 260 for the first half hour and 65 each 15 there after... I can buy the exact same doorstop for that price... Xerox is no longer even on my shopping list let alone the most recommended printer/copier company. Once the toner runs out Ill be donating the carcass to hazardous waste.

I sell printers and copiers and this is by far the most difficult printer to set up just to use the scanner or fax. I have managed to set it up to print from my computer, and of course make copies which does not need any work to set up. But I have had this copier for two months now and still have not been able to make it scan or use the fax machine, it is very difficult to set up to work. The CD that comes with it, when installing it installs everything and then tells you that it cannot install the scanner feature. I thought it could be my computer, but installed it on three other computers and still the same error. So please do yourself a favor and do not buy this printer.

1.) This machine offers VERY limited capabilities. Setting up the Wi-Fi is frustrating at best. Setting up scan to file is next to impossible. Now 7 months in the Wi-Fi will no longer connect at all. This sets aside that they go to great lengths to force you to buy genuine Xerox toner at stupid high prices. I love the print quality of Xerox, but I will NEVER buy another Xerox product. 2.) This is the third Xerox printer I have bought off of Amazon, in the last year. ALL THREE have had issues of some form (slow learner I guess). One had print quality issues from the start and I returned it. One only 500 pages into use began marking prints, needed cleaned and new roller, at a cost near the price of a new printer. And, of course, this one. I will NEVER buy a printer (or other office equipment) off of Amazon again. I am convinced they are less then retail quality.
