I love the printer. Does what it says. Its fast and ink is reasonable.cost. Very quick and easy to replace the ink cartridges. I found the Printer is easy to set up IF you follow the directions. I attached the printer to my laptop and went online to download drivers and then printer wizard took over. You have 3 choices, USB, Media (smart phone) or Wi-Fi. I selected the Wi-Fi set up. Had no problems. UPDATE: Having problems with it auto connecting to my Wi-Fi. Keep getting "not connected" Samsung Customer service is great but I have to keep on calling them to fix the problem which happens all the time. UPDATE: 11/14/2017 *** SAMSUNG HAS FARMED OUT PRINTER HELP TO HP- GOOD LUCK TRYING TO GET AHOLD OF THEM. IM VERY UPSET. ONCE YOU SAY ITS A SAMSUNG PRINTER YOU CANNOT GET A HUMAN VOICE OR PHONE NUMER TO CALL

Ive had this printer for about 18 months. It takes forever to join the configured WiFi network, it leaves it randomly, and requires a ton of irritating work to get it to actually join long enough to be printed on. I found a firmware update from Samsung that seems like it might fix it, however it enforces that you purchase the $50 toner directly from them! Even THEN, the $50 toner from amazon is 50/50 as to whether the printer will accept it. Im going to trash this one and buy a printer not made by scumbags.

I was excited by this purchase and thought I had done my research. Reviews stated that it was easy to set up and worked right out of the box. That was not my experience. The printer was returned after four hours of attempting to install and troubleshoot; two of those four hours were with an HP tech remoting my desktop as we both worked to fix whatever connectivity issue the printer had. He could not solve the problem. Highlights: 1. Needing to use USB connection to set up wireless printing. Why? The whole point is that its wireless, yes? Anyway, I did not look forward to completing the same wired install on every device in my house. 2. After installing program I was unable to "find" the printer, mostly because it kept turning itself off. Repeatedly. In fact it wouldnt stay on, and sometimes it was on when the power light was off, but sometimes not. So...absolutely no way to indicate if the thing was on or off. 3. In attempting to locate troubleshooting information I suddenly, and angrily, realized that this is an HP product. Thats my mistake. I did not realize that HP had purchased Samsung. I bought the Samsung to replace an HP product that decided to not connect to anything (despite all signs saying it was connected, and no changes to system or network) after a year and a half of light use printing. I plan on taking the old printer into the yard and "Office Spacing" it with a baseball bat since no one at HP seems able to help me. So, new printer...and hey, surprise, I accidentally fell right back into the HP trap. HP computers are okay. HP printers are flimsy unsupported crap. 4. Install did not recognize the serial number on its own product. So, thats a thing. I dont know what it means, but its a thing. And it happened. Troubleshooting on HP website also did not recognize the serial number and provided limited information without it. Does this mean it is a fake? I have no idea. 5. Took about an hour for me to give up and get in touch with HP customer service. Surprise! The phone lines are closed on the weekends, and the troubleshooter is useless AF. 6. FINALLY got through to customer service on chat. Thankfully the tech on duty didnt treat me like an idiot (this happens). We ran down the list of things I had already tried, and I begrudgingly decided to allow him remote access to my computer. I hate having to resort to this. Hate it! 7. Spent two hours fidgeting with settings, getting frustrated with the automatic turn off. Finally it printed a test page while connected to desktop with USB, but we could not discover the problem with wireless. The printer is NO USE to me as a wired printer. 8. After four total hours of trying to get the printer to do its one job, print wirelessly, we gave up. The tech didnt know what to do next, so I thanked him and said I was done. I uninstalled, fixed the settings we had changed, and went to return. 9. The irony of needing to print a return label for a printer is worthy of note. I sent it to a friend and asked him to print it. I am not amused. Attempting to get this stupid printer to work on a HP desktop running Win10 was ridiculous. I lost 4 hours of my life, and a trip to the UPS store and back to return it to Amazon. Now I have to go find another option and am printerless again.

I really like this printer. The print quality is excellent and Im using a generic ink cartridge. The ink cartridge prints about a 1000 pages compared to my desktop printers 3000-6000 pages. Easy setup. I just connected the USB cord, that is included, to my laptop. It also supports WiFi so I can print directly from my phone using the Samsung app. The fold-down paper tray is adjustable to print envelopes. Printer controls are on top and light-up. The power cord completely detaches. The printer is 2 inches longer than a sheet of paper and 7 inches tall. It prints 21ppm. Its as quiet as any home laser printer. I regularly use mine in libraries w/o any complaints or negative staring. I own 4 great laser printers. But having one with me was like carrying a small microwave. Inkjet printers are smaller but they print about 150 pages. If youre lucky they require only 2 inkjet cartridges to print anything, because who looked at the ink cartridges BEFORE buying printer or running out of ink? Plus, laser printing looks so much better than inkjet. One day, I absolutely needed a 22-page document in an hour. I found out the library has a daily 20-page limit. Literally their printers wont print a document if it counts more than 20 pgs or your library card might exceed the daily limit. Fortunately their staff, because they knew me, made an exception by putting their code in the printer. FedEx Office charges nearly 15 cents per page, provided you find parking and there arent long lines. So, one of the best decisions Ive made was buying this printer. PROS: Everything! Price, print quality, well-built, easy use, easy setup, lightweight, size, noise-level, mobility, WiFi, Apple/Android/PC compatible, etc. CONS: No scanner, carrying bag included, color printing, or automatic 2-sided printing. All are easily solvable! Use a mobile scanner app or take a photo. Buy carryon luggage or duffle bag. (Id rather save the money than get a cheap MSRP bag included). Manually flip the paper to print on the other side. Go to FedEx Office to get far superior color printing. Their color printers cost $15,000+ each. Besides 95% of all printing is black and white. Note: HP just released their version of this printer. As near as I can tell, the only difference is theres is all-white. And dont forget to carry paper!

To install on google cloud print (for chromebooks) you have to use a mac/windows/linux computer first (painful, -1 star). I wish you could install this directly with your phone/chromebook. Anyways, it isnt all that well documented but the key is to get the IP address so you can access the printer to get it connected to googles cloud print. 1. power up 2. download "easy wireless set up" via the samsung support site (which is actually HPs support site) 3. install via usb (most reliable) and add printer to your wireless network 4. download samsung mobile print app (iOS and Android) 5. Grab the printers IP address from the app 6. put the IP address in your chrome browser (e.g., 192.168.86.25) 7. login to Samsung Sync Thru Services (default is: admin/sec00000) 8. connect it to your google account (under "settings>network settings>Google Cloud Print") 9. register with Google & done!

This is an amazing printer that fits most (if not all) of my office needs: 1 - It is small (8.5 x 13.1 x 7 inches) enough that you can elegantly put it anywhere. 2 - It is gorgeous looking and at the same time very discreet (unlike those big do-it-all machines no one can miss). 3 - Works silently enough. 4 - Prints 21 ppm (which is quite fast). 5 - Extremely easy to setup... actually I had it running in less that five minutes. 6 - By far the easiest-to-setup wireless printer Ive ever seen (if you have an iPad, just get the Samsung Mobile Print app from iTunes and thats it!). 7 - Amazing printing quality. Even the eco mode looks great!! 8 - Installing the toner is easy. My only HUGE problem with this printer is the price of the toner. Nowhere I can find it for less than $50. So basically, you are buying a new printer every two toners - which seems to be how those brands make their money nowadays (the printer is cheap, the ink... thats another story - LOL!). The instructions say that one toner lasts for an average of 1000 pages... that is $0,05 per page. Those numbers look horrible to me. ...BUT to be completely honest, those toner prices are in line with all the other models and brands Ive seen. So in the end, you should still pick the printer that suits you best. I would suggest you do some research before buying ANY printer, because what you are getting is a commitment to buy its toners (and thats where your money will systematically be). RECOMMENDED!!

Worst electronic purchase ever. Would hardly ever work wireless. The grand finale was that is quit functioning at all two weeks after warranty expired. Probably did not print 10 pages a month is why I purchased such a cheap printer. Also, it would not print envelopes. This is junk. If you are still inclined to buy this printer, get the 4 year extended warranty. But plan on spending hours on the phone with Samsung Tech service.

Ive never posted a review before but this printer is so bad that I have to alert other buyers. I had to frequently do a reset because the pinter would ignore the wireless printing command. Because it worked for a couple of print jobs at my last re-do, I let the return window slide by before, alas, before the same problem returned. My computer keeps telling me that my printer is offline when it is not, no matter what I do. If I want to print I have to physically connect the units. Look, I graduated from physical connections and multi-wirings years ago, and I do not want to return to having to have the physical obstruction of this machine in my immediate workplace. I am going to leave it in the lobby for someone who does not consider this a hindrance. Im sure that if they print once every couple of months that this will be a lovely printer for them. (In fact, I will pin a note describing this situation.) Oh, and is says it does two-sided printing. Yes, it does---- by hand in a time consuming and complicated manner, defeating the purpose of efficiency. I would not recommend this to anyone, and I extend my sympathies and apologies to the person who grabs this in the lobby

Impossible to set up, connect to a computer or to a wireless network. Ive tried for 4 days. I HATE HATE HATE this thing. Ive tried so many ways to connect and look how LONG the Samsung website is to try and connect this baby. Its pages and pages and pages of possible options. Update - 3 weeks of trying. You cant say I didnt give it the old college try. Samsung will not provide customer service but only refers you to HP. HP will only tell you to go to their website. HPs website will only spin you in circles with endless links that make no sense and no troubleshooting assistance. Dead in the water and with 6 days left, its going back. I had such high hopes for art class. Black lasers are great for coloring and painting images. But this one wont even hook up, wifi (unsecure visitor, 2.4G or 5G) or by direct USB -- nada.

I idfnan ************ UPDATE: This printer has problems communicating with the computer. I have installed and reinstalled drivers and it will usually work for a very short period of time then it stops working properly. EVERY single time I want to print I have to unplug, replug, try to get the computer to recognize the printer, print about 3-5 different times, dismissing errors the whole time and trying again before it properly print. EACH time it takes 10 minutes to go through this horrible sequence. Once it connects to print once, it will print easily for the next few hours then it stops recognizing the computer and I have to start all over again. DONT waste your time. ****************************************************************************************************************************************************************The written directions are sparse and not helpful. *It comes with a disc which is useless if your device doesnt have a drive *The set up guide is not available online *The WPS button did not work for us *IT WILL NOT SET UP WITH A CHROMEBOOK UNLESS YOU HAVE ALREADY SET IT UP VIA A REGULAR COMPUTER *I was forced to contact Samsung customer service to find this out because the directions are almost non-existent *The CORD IS SHORT. I couldnt set it up where I wanted because of this. *Its a tiny printer, smaller than it even appears in the photos. There is no enclosed paper tray. Your paper will sit outside the printer. If you have cats or small children or a dusty house prepare for all your paper to be soiled. Most importantly, once you get it set up, it works with the Chromebook which is at least better than the first Brother printer I had the misfortune to buy.
