worked great so far! I opted for this instead of paying more for a photobooth for my sons graduation party. we took pics of guests as they arrived and had them sign a note to my son in a scrapbook and stuck the pic next to their notes. i highly recommend having goodlighting for your pics so they do not print out dark. Use flash and/or brighten the pics in the app before printing. Left pic is a picture of the print out. Right pic is the original pic from my phone.

I bought this as a gift for Christmas and it is awesome. If you are looking for completely accurate colour payoff this is probably not the printer for you. No matter what brand you choose, the likely hood of the prints being completely accurate are not very high. These print more like a picture from a Polaroid camera would print, but if you look at the quality they are awesome. All three of these original pictures were taken on my Canon Rebel T6i and were then edited on the app ColorStory before being printed on the Sprocket. I would not recommend editing photos in the app as the quality might not be as great. Invest in a good photo editing app such as Aviary, or Lightroom or another app that will not ruin the quality of your photos. Also, as a general printing rule, printers usually print at a resolution of 300dpi, if you have photoshop you can always change the resolution of your photos to fit the resolution this will print. Because of the photo dimensions, you will never have to crop out any part of your picture to make it fit in the print. Unless you decide to print a square photo or a photo that has been previously cropped. All in all it is an awesome printer, but if you’re looking for 100% accurate colour payoff, you may want to invest in an inkjet printer.

Look, I never write reviews. However, I was pleasantly SHOCKED by how clear my photos came out. This is my third try at portable printers, and its BY FAR the best. My family travels a lot, my kids like to do Smash book style scrap booking on the go, but now we dont have to rely on crappy Instax instant pictures! Plus, the sticky back makes them easier to get in your smash book! I love that you dont have to take the backing off if you dont want them to be sticky. This thing is perfect for quick journaling or scrap booking. It couldnt complement the smash books more. ❤❤ I also included a picture so you could see the quality of the one I just printed. Trust me, that picture was taken in a dark restaurant.

I debated forever about buying this printer. I really wanted one but as a "toy" kind of purchase, it wasnt in my budget. I finally broke down and gifted it to myself for Christmas... and Im not nearly as impressed by it as I thought I would be. My main complaint is that, as many others have said, the print quality seems very hit and miss. I often get the dreaded line artefacts in my photos, like many describe here. On some pics theyre not as noticeable, but they are certainly there, and sometimes they seem to affect the colours a lot. I realize itll never be HQ printing, but even for frivolous snaps its pretty poor at times. I have definitely noticed that when the battery isnt fully charged, its a lot more likely to print faded. Its good to realize as a workaround, but I think its poor quality on HPs part to sell a "wireless" printer that basically needs to be fully charged to work correctly. You can also recalibrate the film using the orange card from the pack, as each pack is slightly off from the others and will need calibration. Sometimes, these things help, sometimes, not so much. And each time you test print, it costs about $.50, so thats a bummer. I really hope HP can improve this via software updates. The good things: - You can opt to imprint the photos with some hidden information. When you scan such a pic with the app, it will show you some geolocation data and other photos you took that day. Its kind of cool and techy. - The app is pretty nice. I notice it offers a billion little frames but none that look like a Polaroid. Go figure. :P - The app lets you draw on a piece of paper and take a pic in order to create a transparent kind of .png to use as an overlay going forward. Its a nice little feature. I hope theyll add more toys like this to the app, its fun. - I really love how anyone who connects to the camera can print on it. Very cool for parties. - The unit itself is sleek and light, easy to travel with. - The prints are heavy paper, nice quality, and the adhesives are strong. - The app was easy to install and set up, no trouble at all with connecting the bluetooth. The app finds the photos easily, and my phone finds the printer before I even ask most of the time. I think even if you werent tech savvy, youd be able to set this up and enjoy it without much trouble. If theyd just make the print quality a bit better, itd be nearly perfect! But thats a pretty big dealbreaker for me at the moment, especially at this price, when you could just get a little Instax camera for so much less.

So I have had a long history with these portable photo Zink printers. I got a Polaroid Zip last December. It broke a few times and I had to get it replaced by Polaroid (great company and they were wonderful about sending me BRAND NEW replacements) I got really tired of that so I turned to HP because I had heard good things. I really wanted to love this printer. But it printed my pictures out extremely splotchy compared to the zip. I tried reconfiguring and resetting the printer and nothing worked. Then after I printed about 10 or so shots, the printer refused to print. It kept saying I was out of paper when I wasn’t and it would freeze in the “sending to printer” stage and the printer would get hot. I ended up returning it and getting another Polaroid zip printer. I wanted to love you HP I did, but you let me down.

While I am returning the item I thought itd be a good way to write what I thought about it. As someone who likes to journal and is a big fan of instant camera/prints, I was excited to buy one of these printers. I read plenty of reviews, both good and bad, but in the end I wanted to get my hands on one. It has a lot of greats thing that I enjoy about it. The size of the sheets are nice and the pricing of 20 sheets per 9.99 is decent. I love that you can edit the pictures, add borders, stickers, words, and play around with filters. While it is small and portable, it does not fit in your pocket, but does in a bag or purse. The cons, however, outweighed the pros in my mind. While I kept going back and forth on whether I wanted to return it, the down sides pushed me to return it. The pictures arent the best quality, while I wasnt expecting amazing quality, and read the reviews and knew they werent the best. I was so surprised and sad how many of the pictures turned out. In some, the pictures look washed out, in others theyre too dark, and in others they look just plain terrible. There are a few pictures that look nice but 4 or 5 great pictures out of 20 is not great. When you want to print something you see what you want it to look like on your screen, and seeing it not come out that way on paper is disappointing. Its not like with instax cameras/polaroid cameras where sometimes its a gamble whether the picture will turn out great. For the quality of the pictures, the price didnt seem too fair. I also dont like that the zink paper that is needed for this product crinkles up from the sides after a few days. As I mentioned earlier, I like to journal, and sometimes I like to print out things I find on pinterest, and even those sometimes came out great and other times they didnt. I was never 100 percent sure if I was going to like my picture or not. It does have great functions but even then 130 dollar doesnt make sense to me. If it costs a lot less, maybe I wouldve kept it, but even then Im not sure.

Dont compare this to a full quality printer. This baby is for printing stickers and for having a ton of fun!!!! And it does that in droves!!!! Print quality is just fine for adding photos to my planner pages or giving at to friends at dinner or a concert. Fun. Yes its pricey but lets face it, not too many of us print actual photos any more even us die hard scrapbookers at most stick a couple of fun prints in a planner page and call it a day. I purchased this printer specifically to add fun photos to my MAMBI Happy Planner. The 2x3 size fits across two boxes at an almost perfect fit. I also plan to use this at my wedding to give my mom and bridal party some fun instant shots. Photo quality. Photos with a lot of bright colors and light come our best. Darker subjects, like my black cat are just ok. But still way in the good enough range. Professional photos of my engagement came out great. Ease. So so simple. Charge it, download the app on your phone, open and install paper then connect via Bluetooth and DONE. The HP Sprocket app lets you add some fun effects like frames or hearts. Love it!!!!! Paper. Wait for coupons and then get the best deals. The paper comes to .50 cents per printed sticker without a coupon or sale. Still worth it if you dont go too crazy. Beats the heck out of using an ink jet or cutting photos (did that for too many years).

Very user friendly, and I like the fact the paper is also a sticker! The size of the paper is great! Not too big or small. They do fit in standard instax photo books! I would rate it 5 stars if the print quality was better. I have noticeable print lines on my prints, the reds are a bit orange (my phone corrected it when I took the picture but in person more orange), and the contrast could be better. The prints lean pink or yellow in outdoor lighting. If the printer is supposed to have the print lines its ok, I just hope I didnt get a defective one. My before and after photo attached is my phone pic on the left, zinc print on the right. Its a bit more washed out in person. The other two photos show the print lines but if its supposed to be that way Im ok with it. If its not, I received a bad model. Its updated and Ive loaded the paper correctly and its official hp zinc paper. (The middle photo ive uploaded is old and a screen grab from snapchat, the others are 2017/2018 taken on a note 8)

This is so cool!! I love my HP Sprocket Photo Printer!!! Straight out of the box, I was a little confused on how to proceed. It would have been nice if this came with some instructions beyond a card that demonstrated how to plug it in for charging (of all things to give directions on...). Maybe I was missing something in my package but mine did not come with information on how to sync it to your device, how to print photos, how to load the photo paper, etc... Ive included some basic instructions for anyone who would like them down below. As for the product itself, Im really impressed at the image quality for such a small, portable printer. The editing features, including the option to add text, stickers, and frames is a really nice touch, but I wish there was an option to change sticker colors so that they would work on different types of backgrounds (white is your only option). A little frustrated that I cant find replacement paper for this on Amazon but they can be ordered directly through HP in packs of 20 at about .50 cents a sheet (CORRECTION: Amazon does carry the replacement paper - see link in comments section). This would be a great gift for anyone who loves to journal, scrapbook or to have just for fun. Directions: 1. Charge the sprocket (light turns from orange/red to green when fully charged - it can be used while charging). 2. Insert photo paper with the blue card included, into the sproket (top of device slides and pops off) 3. Download the sprocket app onto your device (in my case, an iphone) 4. Press the button on the side of the sprocket to power it on - a white light will show. 5. From your device - search for HP Sprocket from your Bluetooth menu and connect. 6. Open the sprocket app from your device - from here, youll be able to access your photos, editing tools and initiate a print job.
