Wish I could give this less than a star.... I never write reviews good or bad... but this this thing is so bad I need to let people know so they dont waist their time and money on this thing.... Really just want to go throw it through the front window at the Canon main office, like those old tire commercials.... or maybe take it out in a field like "Office Space"... and just beat the crap out of it with a baseball bat. Worst printer EVER... You have been warned.... First unless you do the "hack" there is no way to replace an ink cartage until IT tells you to.... I wasted almost 300 sheets of paper before the stupid thing FINALLY figured out that the black had run out. Meanwhile almost a ream of paper in the trash. Sure after looking online, and finding out that this thing is crap, I did find there is a hack for that, you have to start printing and then unplug the power cord mid print, then open the front door and roll one of the small gears until you hear a click, THEN you can change a empty cartage. COME ON CANON is this the best you can do... Anyway just recently the stupid thing got into an B504 error code... and wont clear, this thing is just bad all the way around... Worst Printer EVER !!!! I have only had this printer for a few months.... and now buying a new one... and NOT A CANON...

This machine is a nightmare. It’s buggy, it struggles to make a simple copy, and God help you if you want to send a fax. I absolutely hate this machine. It toggles unexpectedly and unasked between paper trays, the document feeder, and the glass platen. There is no simple, discernible way to correct these settings it chooses apparently at random, and it will ruin all your plans.

DO NOT PURCHASE if you plan to use this for more than printing a page here and there! I bought this for my office because it would print quickly. However, this printer eats toner like no other printer Ive owned! You would think that wouldnt be the case, since it has the extra large paper tray, but youll need to replace the toner before you even go through a ream of paper. Also, the toner is expensive, I tried purchasing a knock-off brand of toner that gets 5 stars when used with other printers, this one only runs for 15-20 pgs and then begins streaking. Im going to try to return this, but if I cant, Im going to throw it in the trash and purchase another HP. Extremely disappointed.

This is a pretty large all-in-on that takes a lot of real estate. For the first month, it has performed very well. Here is some of the pros and cons: Pros: 1. Printing is very fast. 2. So far, one easy fix jam. 3. Have done a fair amount of printing on the original cartridges. 4. The touch screen functions are intuitive (but not always correct-see below). 5. Copy functions work as they should. Cons: 1. Pretty noisy. 2. Printer shakes if not on a solid surface. It was initially set up on a light duty side table. The table shook violently. 3. Though the printer is very fast, it spits the copies over the tray stop and onto the floor after the first couple of copies. 4. As bulky as the main body of the printer is, the paper trays stick out 2.75" past the face of the printer. The printed copy tray sticks out 6" past that for a total of 8.75". With the cables connected at the rear and the printer as far back against the wall as it will go without damaging the cables, It takes a full 26" front to back. It is 18" wide. Most home office desks are approximately 24" deep. 5. Installing the ink cartridges was a challenge. Replacing them will be a bigger pain. Not sure, but you may not be able to replace or remove ink cartridges until they are empty. Some reviewers have complained that the ink cartridges tend to dry out, some leak. 6. This is not a high quality photo copier. It is basic on color prints. 7. Setup was a pain. The printer was initially set up as wireless. But when the notebook was hardwired, the Canon lost the settings, never to be found again. 8. Screen may indicate another print is in que where, in fact, the paper tray is empty. 9. The Canon Maxify goes into a noisy quasi cleaning mode after each print session. We have used a Brother MFC all-in-one for many years with great results and still have it. It is also bulky because it has a larger scanner bed. The paper trays are totallt enclosed in the main body. Extremely few jams, and those were the fault of the user. It is slower, but it does not spit the finished copies helter skelter. Other than the original print cartridges, we have always used after market ink with excellent results. Canon has fewer options on ink. The ink cartridges in the Brother do not travel and are easily accessible from a front panel on one end. Brother ink cartridge change is simple and quick. There is no appreciable difference in photo quality between Brother ink or after market ink, nor in the print quality between the Brother and the Canon. The only reason we went with Canon was that color prints might be better. They are not, even with Canon ink. We have had the Brother for more than 5 years and it is still doing its job. It also has a program that came with it that has been most useful that did not come with the Canon. It was a tossup. Some of the Brother MFC reviews indicated that Brother may have slipped on quality. We thought we would give Canon a try. In hind sight, I would gamble against some of the Brother reviews and buy another Brother. Canon has always been touted for their photo print quality. Not on this one. I am being generous giving this 3 stars. It does what it is supposed to, but Canon is capable of much better.

Ive now used it everyday since June 18th (the day of delivery. It will freeze up sometimes 7-8 times a day and make noises for up to 10 and 15 minutes at a time delaying before finally printing, the screen reads "processing" it also always gives an error code 5011 and wont print without turning off and back on. Google it, 5011 canon; people are frustrated. I will NEVER purchase a canon printer again, aggravating is an understatement when Im using this in an office and time is money.

Ink keeps finishing too quickly. Printer keeps going offline. After cartridge replacement, printer stays busy making all kinds of sounds except getting on with printing. Firmware upgrades happen frequently which interrupt usage. Very dissatisfied.

I had high hopes for this printer but have been pretty disappointed. First, the printer is HUGE, I knew it would be bigger but I set it on top of a file cabinet and it hangs over both sides. The most frustrating thing with the printer is that it automatically turns off, yes it save electricity, but every time I go to print something I have to sit and wait for it to warm up. I need a printer that constantly stays on. One of the main reasons I got this printer was for the scan directly to email capabilities and I cannot figure out how to set it up for the life of me and I can usually figure out issues like that. Second, for some reason I dont have an option to print anything in black and white. When you go to print something it only gives you color as an option which is such a waste. I do like that you can print from your phone but again, when the printer shuts automatically shuts off it doesnt display as an available printer on your phone. Overall, its just annoying to use and I really thought it would be more user friendly.

Sometimes there are issues with getting the printer to acknowledge its connected to the laptop, but Ive noticed with the newer models this isnt as frequent an issue. I have three Canon Maxify printers at this point because I find them to be fairly easy to use, easy to set up, they print good quality, and the feeder works well for scanning something in. The main drawback/annoyance is that if you accidentally take out an ink cartridge that did not need to be replaced, you cannot just put that same cartridge back into the printer. The printer will completely quit working until you replace it with a new cartridge. It wont even scan.

Ive had many printers over the past 35 years of using personal computers, but the Canon MB2720 is easily the most frustrating and poorly performing printer Ive ever had. Ive been using the printer for almost three months on an almost daily basis. Here are the consistent problems Ive been dealing with. 1. The printer often pulls multiple pieces of paper to print a page resulting in pages that are printed partially on two pages. This happens with the same paper Ive used for years on other printers. Ive had to change to more expensive heavier stock paper to solve this. 2. It almost always prints multiple copies even though it is set to "one copy," wasting ink and paper. 3. It is e x t r e m e l y slow to respond to print commands, sometimes taking up to 10 minutes to start printing. 4. It constantly goes so "sleep" and is unresponsive until I push the power button. This is annoying when I try to print remotely from another room or when I try to print when Im away from home. It simply doesnt work. My old printers handled this easily. 5. Double sided printing usually results in a paper jam. Dont waste your time with this printer.

After having this printer for about a month I started having trouble with the black ink. I kept having to clean the printer heads and there was never enough ink on the page after printing about 3 pages. I replaced the cartridge twice but it still didnt make any difference. I finally called Canon technical support. They are located in the United States which is a BIG plus. After explaining to the tech what was happening she told me she thought the tube going from the ink to the printer was probably malfunctioning. She immediately said that they would UPS me a new printer and there would be a pre-paid label to return the damaged printer. I gave this printer 5 stars because of their fantastic customer service. Nothing is perfect and sometimes a new product will have something wrong with it but if the company doesnt stand by their products then they arent worth doing business with.
