Purchased this for a home office to use with a laptop with a NVIDIA GTX1060 and Intel HD graphics card. Since the screen was on the cheaper side, had VESA mounts, supported HDMI at 75Hz/1080P, and came with great reviews I figured it was a great deal. Out of the box the quality looked decent and came with everything needed including tools for assembly. I was soon disappointed when I connected it to my laptop. Initially I noticed that the screen was over scanning (the images extended beyond the edge of the screen). The desktop extended past preventing the use of several windows features, and programs would span both screens when clicking the maximize button. Secondly the text with many applications, including Microsoft Office suite was very blurry. I expected some blurriness since this is not an IPS screen, but this was bad. I tried messing with video card settings, using different video cards (laptop has two), using Windows screen calibration and ClearText tuning and different video cables - no improvement. The monitor settings are very limited so they provide no help. Ultimately I ended up returning after Amazon Support was unable to diagnose the problem. If youre looking for a cheap screen and dont care about image quality then this is a good deal. If you care somewhat about image quality or have a hard time reading computer screens - do yourself a favor and spend a little extra on a decent screen.

The first monitor I got had a few bright spots in it, I figured it was just fluke and asked to have a new one sent to me. The new one they sent me has 3 really apparent bright spots and 5 that the average user might not immediately notice. I work in the laptop refurb business and look at screen regularly to asses their value. Based on the standards we use these screens are the lowest level you can rate.

If its too good to be true it probable is. Several pixel spots on the screen, so I am returning it tomorrow (and I HATE returning things).

Pros: Easy set up of stand. Comes with several cable options. Speakers are decent. Cons: Everything else. I bought this monitor for a 2nd work monitor to connect to my laptop. I didnt need it to "do" much, I just needed a little extra desktop real estate. This shipped with a dead pixel. I could live with that if that was the only thing wrong with it. Eye strain was immediate upon viewing the monitor. Light leak around the edges is terrible. The picture quality is awful at both 60 and 75 Hz. Text appeared jagged. Images were washed out. I connected to my PS4 and the results were equally disappointing. Do not purchase if you are thinking about using this as a gaming monitor. Do no purchase this if you are thinking about ANY monitor. I was using this as a trial monitor for other Sceptre monitors. I was interested in some of their larger, curved monitors, but based off the quality of this monitor, I will happily spend a little more money to get a trusted, name brand monitor.

All of the positive reviews led me to believe this is a great monitor. However, within the first 15 minutes of setting up the monitor, the screen began flickering on and off. Then, it stopped working completely. Maybe I was given a defective model. This is very disappointing.

Pretty mad no remote is included. Bought this for my elderly mom. Also beware no cable hook up for the back. Must have hdmi cables. Keep in mind younger generation people already have. Older people may still have old things. Never was it listed that I would need to update her cable box just for a new tv.

PRO: The built in speaker was a nice surprise. Not mind-blowing quality, but good. I enjoyed it for the two hours this monitor worked. CON: See attached pictures. Extremely disappointed that this item has an "Amazons choice" icon. After using this as a second monitor to watch youtube for only two hours, a black line appeared straight down the middle of the screen, top to bottom. Restarted the monitor and the PC, but the line is even in the monitors "SCEPTRE" splash screen AND the "Cannot detect input!" screen. Overall would not recommend this.

I tried to use this monitor for my home office. My routine is to take my laptop with me, and reconnect when I get home. This monitor took constant attention in order - unplugging and trying again several times. Now, after only a few weeks of ownership, I cant even get it to turn on after 10 minutes of messing with it this morning. This piece of junk is not worth the affordable price.

I own a 47" Sceptre, so when I needed a new monitor I thought Id buy a sceptre. My old Sceptre has a remote, which makes switching inputs super easy. This one has no remote making switching inputs almost impossible. Yes there are buttons on the back which say they do this, it doesnt seem like they actually do because there isnt an enter button. Just switching from hdmi 1 to 2 seems to just sit there and do nothing. Both computers work, both cables work, because when I manually switch the cables each of them works. I guess I will never buy a small cheap sceptre again. It also said there were speakers on this model, but I see none.

*Update 3/19/19 - I finally reached someone in tech support about the audio not working. After my interaction with him, I removed a star from my initial rating. He would not give his name, and since I dont own a Playstation or other gaming device he refused to help me as he stated that I need to own one of those devices to test the monitor on since he believes it is a PC issue. I assured him that my audio is perfectly fine from my PC to my other monitor and he still would not budge. I also assured him that I have, despite using an HDMI cable (which he also said may be faulty) added a green audio cable to check that and still did not receive sound. He blew that off without acknowledging it whatsoever. I told him I first tried using a VGA cable along with the green audio cable, same way my previous monitor was set up, and later he said that without testing with a VGA cable the audio cable didnt matter. I repeated that Id done that and he acted like I was making it up. Horrible, horrible customer service!!! Now I will need to find a different brand to buy and return this one to Amazon... thank goodness for Prime! Original review below. ----------------------------------------------------- I purposely bought a monitor with built in speakers as I cant stand having external speakers cluttering my tiny desk. It took a few tries to get the video on the monitor functioning and set to normal standards, but its great now. However, I cannot get the audio to work. I have it hooked up to my PC with a brand new HDMI cable I purchased for it. My understanding is that the audio should go through this also. But I tried using my old audio cable (with the green ends) as well and still nothing. I even tried using my old VGA cable along with the green audio cable and nothing. Ive gone into the computer sound settings and the HDMI option states "not plugged in". If I cant get the audio working, Im going to have to return this and will be purchasing a different monitor. I dont sit and watch videos on my computer but do sometimes need to have sound for various reasons.
