overall it looks good, and was a pretty good price. My only complaint is that it seems to not go into a sleep mode most of the time when I unplug my macbook, or if my macbook turns off. It just cycles through the inputs forever. sometimes it will go to sleep, but then when i come back to it hours or days later, its on and cycling through inputs. The best setting i could find to fix this was called "eco timer". With that on, it will wait 10 min after the source is gone and then turn the monitor off. the annoyance is, that next time i want to use my computer, i have to reach around behind the monitor and turn it on everytime. Ive never had a monitor that did this.

Good monitor. No dead pixels and colors look good out of the box, usually adjust anyway but dont think I will need to adjust much. I dont do photo/vid editing so cant speak for accuracy. Surprisingly light, feels like it weighs same as my 27 Acer Predator gaming monitor. Got it for $388, $50 cheaper when I bought it than other big brands (LG, AOC, ASUS). Comfortable for me to use 2-3 ft away (I move throughout the day, always practice good ergonomics) and I use a monitor arm to have it at the backside of the desk. 4K Solves problem of multiple windows for different apps and web sessions. Can easily get 2 full sized windows with room at top or bottom for Hangouts and a couple apps/utilities or 4 full sized windows if I ever have to (full sized on a 1080 screen). The extra room also makes it easy and conformable see and managed popups for errors or notifications, just feels less crowded in general. HDMI 2 is the 4K 60hz input (documented in guide) and Displayport works well too but using HDMI for now. The text is sharp and I like the size and scaling. Was tempted to get a 28 4k but glad I did not. I use a 27 1440p monitor for gaming desktop and didnt want to set a higher scaling in Windows 10 and lose the real estate I gained.

When I purchased this monitor, I was really concerned about the bad reviews. I have yet to experience any of the issues other people have reported. As far as I can see, the only downside to this monitor is that its only 60Hz, but I knew that buying it. If you are fine with 60Hz, then you will like this monitor and the price. My other concern was how well this upscaled games because my video card cannot play all games at full detail in 4k. Running at 1080p, the games I tested didnt look too bad, the quality was better than I normally see. I can also adjust the sharpness to further refine the picture. Note that I used the Display Port connection. There is some light bleeding at the two bottom corners, but its very muted so I have no issues with it. My monitor came free of dead pixels. I avoided LG this time since my last 2 monitors from them had dead pixels, so I was very happy to not see any here. Finally, the Freesync implementation works really nice. My other gaming monitor (LG), has Freesync support, but it doesnt seem to work. I experience tearing and frame rate slowdowns despite Freesynce being enable in both AMDs software and on the monitor. This monitor has no such issues. Display is fluid and void of tearing with vsync disabled. I did have some games detect the refresh rate at 30hz which obviously killed performance. Once I got the refresh rate up to 60hz, the games became extremely fluid and responsive. Overall, Im really pleased with this purchase. Wasnt expecting such a good screen for the price.

+ Good price point especially for a 4k UHD screen. + Colors are bright, pop, and add extra life to whatever you are viewing. Previously had a monitor from 2010 and I thought that was good. Big noticeable difference. + Minimalist, clean profile, thin bezel. + Monitor has a headphone jack which is nice for the times I want to use my headset without having to plug my speakers in and out of my PC. Good for console play like Switch or PS4. - Cant adjust monitor height, what you see is what you get with the stand. Usage: Daily office use, video production, and gaming are all great with this monitor. If you are content with 60hz @ 4k, then this is the monitor for you. Anything above that you are going to have to pay premium (HDR, 120hz+, etc) and you need the appropriate computer specs. I would only upgrade from this monitor if I wanted to pay the extra premium listed above and could benefit from it as mentioned. The only minor issue I have with the monitor is that you cant adjust the height, otherwise I dont see how this monitor could get any better. 5/5.

I was super disappointed with this monitor. I love my Samsung TV and was excited to get a monitor from the same brand but this is noting even close to it or my ultrawide. The colors were really plain, game mode kills all blacks and makes everything look grey, the panel is thick, and worst of all my monitor had horrible glow in the corners, especially on the left side. I could see it glowing through in dark scenes while sitting in a dark room.

Upgraded from a ViewSonic 28" 1080p monitor to this 32" Samsung 4K monitor. I really loved my ViewSonic...however, I really wanted something a little larger. Rather than spending $200 on a descent 32" 1080p monitor, I started shopping for a 4K monitor instead. This monitor is amazing! I figured the picture would be a little better than the 28" 1080p since the screen is much larger (even with the 4K). I was wrong...the picture quality is WAY better! Colors are vivid and crisp. Good brightness with really good black levels...even text using Word et look great! So far I have watched a few movies, streamed TV, played a few RTS games and used Microsoft office-everything looks way better than any monitor I have ever seen or owned. No built in speakers, which isnt a deal breaker because I have headphones and if needed, I can always find a pair of descent, cheap speakers that would probably sound better than most built in speakers. The only real issue (minor) is the limited picture options and settings. I am used to adjusting the picture settings on my OLED TV and other good LED TVs. Probably a good thing there isnt a ton of picture settings-so I dont waste all my time finding the "perfect" picture. I did go in a tweak the factory settings a little, and it looks really good. And I only spent like maybe 10 minutes at the most getting a really good picture! I highly recommend this monitor!

I got this because I want to do photo work on it. If this is your goal, check your graphic card first to make sure it can support the 3840x2160. I took a risk, and mine does not. I can say it looks sharp and amazing in 1920x1080. Cant wait to see what it looks like after card update.

I like the fact this is a 4k monitor, and it is pretty big for my desk. It has a lot of screen real state for me to display windows open side by side. I also like the fact that this monitor has VESA mount, so when used with a monitor arm, it not only saves some extra space from my desk but also raises the monitor be aligned with my line of sight. It has 3 ports, 2 HDMI and 1 DP, should be plenty for regular uses. The color gamut is not that great, but it is not bad either. Since I use it mostly for coding and reading, not photo or video editing, it is good enough. For people who want to do professional design or media editing, this is probably not the right choice. The auto-detection of video input source simply DOESNT WORK. I have to struggle with the tiny joystick button at the back to set it to the correct input source. It is also annoying that it wont display anything from the MBP when it boots up unless I open the laptop to display something the built-in screen at the same time first. Not sure if it is a driver issue or what. Also the built-in menu of the monitor doesnt display unless the monitor has valid signal from an input source. Overall, the usability is subpar.

I develop software and recently purchased an iMac Pro. Once I saw the 4K display on the iMac, I knew I had to have a retina display for my 2nd monitor - the pixelation on my old last-generation 27" flat screen was just not cutting it. Hence, the Samsung U32J590 32-inch 4K UHD Monitor. I knew I wanted the 32" screen so that I could have two pages of source code open simultaneously. I wanted DisplayPort compatibility so that it would play nice with my Mac. This screen is wonderful for watching movies, editing text and surfing the web. I am not a gamer so I cannot comment on that. I am not impressed with the sound output - no volume control available for the headphone jack and its too loud. But, the headphone jack on the iMac works fine and the 32" size is spoiling me badly. This screen was a breeze to set up and install, no drivers needed for the Mac, played around with the brightness controls and now I am super happy. It was worth the price and Im going to get another one for my wifes MacBook Pro 13" 2018 model. Also good to know if there had been any issues, Amazon would protect me, thats always a plus. Funny story: I originally saw this model on display at Best Buy. I told them I wanted to buy it. After 20 minutes of scrambling and dissembling, they told me they didnt have any more in stock but there was one across town (it was rush hour, traffic would have been insane). I asked them if I could buy the display model. "Sorry no thats against store policy but we can order it for you..." It didnt matter, by this time I had already placed the order through Amazon Prime with next-day free shipping and it was on its way to me before I had even left the store. Best Buys loss was Amazons gain, mine too, I love the monitor and the service...

Wow! Beautiful colors and response is good. I am getting a different monitor for my gaming system (nothing wrong with this one, I just need G-SYNC and this doesnt have it). I love how clear the screen and crisp the screen is. The size also makes it easier to see who just killed me in my games ... If you do a lot of Excel work, this is the size screen (or bigger) that you need without having to keep constantly moving your head side-to-side (like a 34 or 49 inch monitor) and it is just large enough that the resolution (3840 x 2160) doesnt create issues with font size, etc. (like a 27 or less monitor would). All in all, one of the best large screens I have owned. I will be moving this to the wifes machine since she doesnt game like I do; instead she uses Facebook, YouTube, pays bills, surfs the web and email, etc. - much more utilitarian than me; she wont be concerned with screen tearing, etc.
