I purchased this monitor on December 10, 2016 and it worked great for a few months. But on April 10, 2017 it stopped working. When I plug it in the logo appears and then the screen goes blank. It will not do anything. I tried removing the driver and reinstalling it, but that didnt help. When I went to my order on Amazon to return it or get support, I got a message that said the return window closed on January 30, 2017 and support window closed on February 10, 2017. I guess you get what you pay for. I am not stopping here, I am going to Amazon to see what they can do to help me get my money back.

Have owned two AOC monitors. This monitor and the previous model. Very much "babied" both monitors. Both broke within 8 months. Both monitors broke where the wire connects to the monitor. If you buy one of these monitors and do not travel with it then it is a nice monitor. One feature that it does have is that when you move it from the landscape to the portrait position the content also assumes that configuration. This a nice feature when you are working on something like an XL spreadsheet. If you want a monitor to use for travel or if you are going to plug unplug this monitor on a frequent basis then my guess your monitor will break in 8 months.

I was super excited about this monitor from the looks of it online, but was extremely disappointed upon receiving it. The monitor would simply turn on and say "no signal." After about 3 hours of troubleshooting and searching online forums for solutions, I finally found the explanation. Someone in one of the forums where they were having this very problem said that they called into to AOC technical support and they were told that the monitor was meant more to be used with MACs, and was only usable for usb-c ports that are thunderbolt enabled (which virtually no windows laptops under $1000 are). And that was only the first issue. They really havent updated the drivers for this these monitors since windows 8, and if you search online you can see that most people who had these have had nightmares with them after switching to windows 10. I wasnt able to find a single one of them who got the usb-c connector one to work. If you have a MAC, you might get it to work (cant guarantee it though), but if you have a windows 10 laptop of any price or quality you are better off not spending your time or money on this one, cuz you will be returning it after 1 day of frustration as I have. I think AOC is guilty of some deceptive advertising here to be quite frank. Their website is a nonsensical jumble two, and I had to jump through hoops for 10 minutes on there just to find where to download it. On top of that, they compressed the drivers as .rar files, which meant that I had to find and download another program to even get the files downloaded, and even when I finished all that, they didnt work. Their website, support, and promises have all been garbage so far. I would recommend a portable monitor that actually has an hdmi or display port input. These usb monitors always have issues with drivers and updates. Even if it means one more cord, at least it actually works simply.

I was really happy with this purchase for about a week. After a week, white spots started forming all over the screen. At first it wasnt bad and barely noticeable. They have now gotten much bigger. I really did enjoy the extra screen real-estate this provided. I definitely got more done and was able to complete my work faster. Working from a laptop as my main workstation has been a pain until I came across this. I tried to take some pictures but the camera doesnt show it right. They are way more viable than what is shown.

I purchased this item and the first monitor came and it would constantly flicker and make a strange sound and both screens would go black and everything on this new 2nd monitor would move back to my primary laptop monitor. It was very frustrating and annoying and would happen once every 10 minutes at least. I reached out to AOC customer support and they said it could be the USB cord. Cord came and still had same issues. I then had to pay $99 for a new one to be shipped out (they did pay for the return shipping). Once I received it, I would ship back the broken one and get my $99 refunded. Well, the "new" replacement monitor came and was already broken! The screen looked cracked so I called them and they shipped out ANOTHER replacement monitor. Meanwhile, I sent back the 2nd broken monitor that arrived. Waited for my 3rd new replacement monitor. This one showed up and had some issues still (would be plugged it and it would be a black screen and have an icon telling me to plug it into the monitor). Would also do the same flickering, but it was once a day instead of once every 10 minutes. I figured I would just deal with it to avoid the hassle of returning it. So this morning, I wake up and it looks like the attached pictures. I emailed AOC and they said that it looks like it was damaged, etc. and that isnt covered by their warranty. I havent even traveled or moved this monitor once since Ive had the replacement. Not to mention, the monitor is lightweight and really isnt very protected. I could see how traveling with this monitor could easily cause it to have damage. I would suggest getting a warranty that provides damage protection as AOC could care less. I need to purchase a 2nd monitor now again after wasting all of my time and $100 and I am looking to go with another brand if anyone has any suggestions. I usually do not write product reviews, but I am not happy with AOC or this purchase.

Update: this does not work at all with my work computer. I couldn’t get it to work with anything so I ended up trashing it. I needed a smaller monitor for working at home. I have an actual dell monitor and it was just too big and bulky for my desk, and I like being able to move around so I got this. Its good for what I need. I dont need anything fancy so for me this works. I have had it for about 4 days and used it 2 days working from home. This is being used with a dell latitude e5470. Here is how it earned 3 stars: 1. Its light and very easy to pick up with my laptop and move rooms 2. The screen is clear enough for my needs (email, excel, general business support needs.) 3. The size is just right for my space. 3. It works with my newer MacBook which I could never find any monitor to work with it. Here are the reasons I wont give 5 stars 1. The kickstand wont allow you to let it stand up completely straight up and down, its always at an angle. (I Rigged up a piece of foam to rest the stand in to make it mostly straight). 2. I started noticing when I go to drag and drop emails the slight flicker (not horribly visible/distracting, but it makes it feel like the mouse/pointer is cutting in and out). I had to move my email app to my laptop monitor (which sucks because we use lotus notes and it takes a lot of screen space).

Ive twice the made the mistake of buying from this company but NEVER AGAIN! The first one pixilated to uselessness after a few months of use, and the manufacturer blamed user error for the problem, claiming I must have dropped it. Because I urgently need an external for my work, I bought another newer model. It came in a nice travel case which I used when I took it out with me in my briefcase. This time I treated it with TLC. But the second one also went dead. When I filed a warranty claim and sent it back tech again claimed "user physical damage." I explained how Id use it with great care, and they simply didnt give a $#%*%. Asked to escalate the claim and the clerk who did intake emailed back "This is the highest level of escalation to process your case. Based on the evidence provided through the pictures, the pattern given by the LED panel can only indicate that it was caused by damage done by impact." This is simply not a portable product. Buy from a different company.
