Had to buy a VGA to HDMI converter just to be able to plug this monitor into my laptop. Then I didnt realize you had to insert a CD to install the software in order for the computer to detect the monitor. My laptop does not have a CD drive. There is no way to install the driver from their website for this particular version. I called tech support and they said these monitors do not work with adapters, you have to use the VGA cord and my laptop does not have this type of port. This monitor is completely useless for laptops. Beyond frustrated.

I was pretty disappointed by the poor picture quality and awkward backlighting. It would only look good at various angles. Worked and was easy to navigate the menu (only has one button...) but not worth the poor picture quality to save a few bucks. For $20 more I upgraded to a very crisp monitor (slightly bigger too). If youre like me and work on a computer 5 days a week+ dont short yourself. Your eyes will thank you later!

This is my second monitor of the same model. The first one I had a problem with the screen getting dark. I was able to have that first monitor replaced and everything was fine. Then I got another monitor to match my set up and it came with a dead pixel on the lower right of the screen. I got in touch with amazon support and they told me that this is a common problem with this item (red flag) and that replacements were not available. So amazon gave me a $27 refund (discount) on the monitor. Still its not what I expected and if you are looking for a monitor, just dont get this one.

Purchased this item and received on October 2nd. Have had it 2 months and the screen is rolling white and black bars. Login to look at trying to return it and Amazon tells me that the Return and Support Windows have closed. I would NOT recommend this product to anyone.

Purchased in May. Worked fine until September, then started flashing blue/red/green and turning off. Returned under warranty. Minimum UPS charge was 20$ to ship a less than one-year old monitor back, but the warranty process was smooth and painless. AOC fixed it, and it was returned in about 2 weeks.. Within 10 minutes of firing it up I notice dead pixels. Not sure what happened, but they werent dead before or I would have added that to the return complaint. Granted - this was a 100$ monitor when purchased. That has now cost me $120. Going to see what AOC says about the dead pixels - Im not paying another 20$ to have it bounced around the US again. In general Ive been happy with AOC monitors and never had a problem, but this one was a dud, and the shipping costs of returns make warranty repairs not worthwhile. Probably going to donate it and just buy another brand. Will update if AOC handles it so that doesnt happen.

The display did work out of the box with no need for a software update on windows 7. But, it has a defective display in that there is a dead pixel in the middle of the screen that shows up white all the time. It is quite visible. I am debating whether to return the display but will wait a few days to see if any other defect shows up. Poor quality control.

I ordered 2. I was broken when I received it. Very cheap but still using the other one. It is okay. You are getting what you pay for...a cheap product for a cheap price. If you get one that isnt broken, its good for travel if you like to use a 2nd monitor on your laptop.

The panel had two stuck pixels (one red and one green) and no massaging or rapid flashing patterns could fix them. Kind of unfortunate because the color on this monitor is actually quite good for its price and the ability to mount it and the overall clean design and placement of the cable ports makes it a good candidate for a workhorse monitor. I kept the monitor I received since it probably wont every do anything other than show console output.

For the price this is a very decent monitor. I got it to replace an ancient thing that my mom uses that is half the size and resolution. Sow why not 5 stars? I took off 2 for the 4 missing screws in the back. Im not sure how that back box compartment was held in place but it was very wobbly missing all 4 screws meant to secure it. I found a few motherboard screws that fit.

i only needed a minimal monitor for a specific purpose. this monitor has more than fit the need. the image is not fuzzy but not sharp, great for text and for streaming video. the viewing angle for video is mostly limited to directly in front of it. for text the viewing angle is much wider. easy to setup and in a month of constant on it has not developed any viewing image irregularities. it is great as a second monitor but use the web to find out how you can best integrate it with your computer os for how you plan to use it. for example, i am using it as a second monitor directly above my laptop. the screen size is well suited to my laptop screen size, a larger monitor would have been overwhelming. adjust display resolution for maximum visual compatibility with your main screen. update 4/13/19 for my system the VGA connector does not align with the screw holes for the side clamping screw-in posts. since the connector is not securely clamped to the VGA port, you can bump/loosen the connector and display odd screen colors. you solve this by firmly pushing in the VGA connector into the VGA port of your computer.
