I have been shooting Canon for a long time and have never used a flash other than an off camera strobe that wasn’t Canon. My Canon Speedlight broke and I needed a stand-in for a wedding in a hurry. My expectations were not super high with this flash, however, I was very pleasantly surprised. It didn’t take long to get a good feel for it and it was pretty self explanatory if you are accustomed to using speedlights. The recycle time is a hair longer than I’m used to, but I did not miss a single shot. I wish I had tried these out much sooner.

Feels like a quality product. It’s a little hard to turn and tilt but I’ll take that over any other flash of lesser quality that would be too flimsy. I’m sure that’s only because it’s brand new. I have only used it a few times so far but I’m happy with the results. Will probably get a secondary one in the future.

Shipping was fast, and all the items in the bundle were included. I cant speak to how it works, as it is a gift for my son, who found this item and is planning on using it with his Canon T6i and Canon 7D cameras. After Christmas, Ill update the review with comments on the functionality.

I have been using my new Flash for a few weeks. So far it is performing perfectly no problems at all. It even arrived a few days early. As of right now I would recommend it

This is a great flash. Now; when used with an Canon 80D it gets tricky because for OFF camera RADIO wireless control you will need to control some settings with the x1c, some with the tt685c and still others on the camera itself. Now I know why I couldn’t find a help video. When you first get the trigger and flash unbox both units, put fresh batteries in both, turn them both on BUT DON’T make any adjustments. They both should come from the factory set on TTL, Group A, Channel 1. The ONLY thing you should need to do is (on the flash unit) press the furthest button to the right (side ways lightning bolt) until you get to an orange screen that has ETTL in the upper left corner, next to that a little radio antenna icon. It should show Slave, Gr A, Ch-1 separate the units by at least 3 feet and now you should be able to press the test button on the Trigger and fire the flash. This assures you that the Radio Wireless flash does indeed work. The flash unit works fantastic when simply attached to the 80D hotshoe . I gave this kit 3 stars for ease of use because the 80D has features designed for the Canon Speedlights that tend to make things very confusing. Once I get everything totally figured out I’ll make a video and post it to YouTube. I highly recommend this unit and have actually enjoyed the challenge of getting it set with the 80D.
