There was a time when buying an off-brand flash meant giving up on features and/or compatibility. Apparently not anymore. I took a chance on lightening deal and am quite happy. It basically works perfectly on my a6000 and its small size complements the size of the aps-c mirrorless system. I have primarily used TTL, and most important for me, Tilt and bounce work great. The built in diffuser and card are features you used to only get an much more expensive flashes. It is not a very powerful flash, but this is compensated by the small size and the fact that it only requires The one downside is that the controls are a bit less intuitive than I would like and it does not always automatically turn on from standby like an OEM sony flash does.

For the price and size, I give it 4 stars. Pros: Designed to be small and work with the sony a7 series cameras, a great cheap alternative. Have been using it several times a week with rechargeable AA batteries, havent needed to recharge them yet. Can change output from the camera even though this doesnt reflect on the flash monitor. HSS works. Cons: Its small: so the light output tends to be concentrated and lead to some harsh shadows - however it does come with a Stoffen diffuser and in-built flap diffuser that help. The back screen is essentially useless unless being used in manual mode.

Works flawlessly (for the most part) with my a6000. Easily fills most rooms with adequate light when used for real estate photography. Nice case, stand & diffuser included. Recycle time is good but I dont get great life out of my batteries. Could be the flash, could be the batteries. I would give it 5 stars if it had a locking shoe connection. It has an old style screw-down dial to keep it on the camera. I knew this going in so it wasnt a huge disappointment, it would just be so much better with a locking foot. For the $ its a great flash.

Very powerful flash! Works perfectly with my Sony a6000 inside with low light conditions! Will definitely purchase a second one for my small indoor newborn studio! Pros- works seemlessly while ON my camera body. Fast recycle, and wonderful in low light conditions! The best part is that it is smaller than a normal sized flash and doesnt add much weight to the a6000. I switched from Canon due to a shoulder injury and the heaviness of the gear. Con- my only complaint is that if I wish to use it off my camera (which I will in my studio) I have to buy a trigger to put on my camera body. I did not have to do that with my Canon set up.

These work much better than another off brand I had been buying. So far I havent had one conk out, like the other off brands did. Another interesting thing - these are SO much brighter than my Canon 580EX. I have no complaints. The price for these is pretty amazing.

I was pleasantly surprised by how well this third-party flash works with my Sony a68, especially considering how little this flash costs compared to a similar Sony one. It syncs well with the camera, is not too large, provides plenty of light. The charging speed could be a little faster to keep up with multiple shots in a row, but I suspect that that is probably limited by the fact that it only takes 2 AA batteries. Overall, a great value.

I was pleased to find this third-party flash for my new Sony RX-10M4 camera. While the build quality is not as nice as any of my other flashes from Canon or Nikon. But this Neewer just plain works. And it is a fraction of the cost of a new Sony flash. This helped defray the costs of migrating from the Canon platform to Sony. So far, this flash has proven reliable.

Great little flash that pairs nicely with a Sony hx400 or a6300. TTL works great and camera can wake flash when it auto powers off. Only downside is that due to its size and 6v input of 2 AA batteries, its not very powerful, especially outdoors as a fill flash
