I purchased this product for usage with my 2011 MacBook Pro. The product arrived in great packaging that protected the cables from damage. Upon opening, you can immediately tell these are high-quality cables despite the value price. The tubing is flexible yet strong, the ports are reinforced to withstand frequent usage, and the product itself functioned perfectly. These are built to last for many years. The image that went from my MBP to my Samsung 40 in 1080p is absolutely beautiful looking. Given many of the inexpensive MDP-->HDMI adapters do not have very good reviews, I think this is THE inexpensive adapter to have that is built to a very high standard of quality.

We finally used this to watch a movie on Prime - I didnt have Chrome, so apparently I needed to download that. However, no audio came through the tv. We had to turn my laptop sound up high. I dont see any indications here about issues with audio, so I am wondering what is wrong with my setup? I have a 48" or so LG tv with an HDMI port and a MacBook Pro with the HDMI port. Does anyone else have issues like thist? Im sure its just something Im doing wrong, as Im not seeing a lot of problems mentioned like no audio.

(This is a review for the mini-displayport to HDMI adapter only.) I bought this for my Acer Aspire V5-572P-6858 (i5-3337U laptop with 15.6" 1080p IPS LCD, and a weird proprietary "Acer mini converter port"). Regarding the mini-converter port, Acers online documentation for the Aspire V5 series; because there are too many different model#s of the Aspire V5 with different hardware. Acers own techsupport website claims the port has the same physical form-factor as mini-Displayport, but is in fact Acer proprietary and "may not work with Displayport equipment." I wasnt able to test the Bluerigger converter with a Displayport monitor, but I successfully used it the connect an external 1080p HDMI-monitor. In fact, I was able to use the Bluerigger miniDP->HDMI adapter, together with the Aspires built-in HDMI port, to drive 2 external HDMI-displays simultaneously, for a total of 3 independent 1080p displays. (I think this only works if all 3 displays share the same timing/resolution; otherwise youre limited to 2 independent displays.) This is great for people who want to drive 2 external digital displays.

I use this adapter & cable to connect a MS Surface Pro 3 to televisions and to standard computer monitors. (BTW, the HDMI connection gives both video and sound.) All was well for about 3 weeks, then the adapter stopped working completely. TV said "NO SIGNAL." I could tell that the adapter had failed, because swapping in another HDMI cable (known to be working) did not solve the problem. I sent an email to BlueRigger customer service (service@bluerigger.com) early on a Saturday morning, and received a reply THE SAME DAY within hours. Amazing! By Tuesday, I had received a replacement bundle, which worked fine. Truly fantastic customer service, almost unbelievable because of the low cost of this item. BlueRigger deserves tremendous credit for resolving the problem so satisfactorily. Ive had much poorer responses to problems with cars, major appliances, etc. BlueRigger sent us both parts of this bundle to replace the adapter, which was fine, we now have a spare HDMI cable. However, they could have saved themselves a little money by only replacing the failed adapter. I recommend this adapter for connecting miniDP to HMDI, both for performance and for the highly professional and prompt response of BlueRigger to the problem encountered. Tip for connecting the Surface Pro 3 to a TV: The most reliable way weve found to establish the connection is to power up the TV with the cable attached (and with the TV set appropriately to receive the HDMI signal), power up the tablet (if its not already on), plug the adapter into the tablet, and finally make the connection between the cable and the adapter. Seems to works every time.

This is the second time I purchased these cords. The first ones lasted exactly a year before they started going bad. They would need to be held in a certain position to be able to keep the picture and sound. I use them a few times a week to watch Netflix on my TV while hooked up through my 2010 MacBook pro. I bought the same cords again because they worked perfectly before dying. They are really long and I can take just the small adapter with me if someone has a normal hdmi cord and I want to hook it up with my Mac. Just wish they lasted longer, or that I kept the warranty papers. I think it would be covered.

I got this to use with a mini LED projector to connect a Macbook Air to HDMI. It works just fine for that; picture quality on the projector is good, and its nice to have the adapter separate from the cable. If either one stops working, I could still use the other. The reason to dock 1 star is that the cable is so heavy. Its very sturdy, more so that I really wanted for portable business usage. It takes up quite a bit of room in my case or on conference room tables. Of course for other uses, the sturdiness may be advantageous; I just wish I had known that it was so heavy.

Theres really nothing not to like, here. This works great with the Microsoft Surface Pro hooked up to an HDTV. I was really just after the adapter, but you cant go wrong with another HDMI cable for a couple bucks. I use a longer HDMI cable I already had with the adapter and it works great. I own a more expensive one and any difference in quality is indiscernible, but thats not really a surprise because BlueRigger makes a quality product. If you take care of it, it should last you, and it is well worth the money.

I got this set because I wanted to watch streaming videos and Skype calls on a big screen instead of on my 15" laptop screen. The Mac doesnt have an HDMI port, so the little adaptor was very important. I could have used any HDMI cable, but I wanted another one, so I got the set. When I plugged the cable into my Mac and the TV, I needed to do a few things: 1) Find the correct input with the TV remote - youll know youve got the right one when you see a desktop background. 2) Go to System Preferences (in apple menu or launchpad). 3) Select Displays - you should be able to scroll down and select "Mirrored" here, but you might have to click on "Detect Displays" first. You choose "Mirrored" if you want the same thing displayed on both your Mac and on the TV; otherwise, you should be able to drag open windows between the two displays (tv & computer screen). 4) Select Sound (also in System Preferences) and choose your TV speakers instead of your Mac speakers. You might find that your computer works a little differently from mine, but there are a lot of YouTube videos out there that explain how to set things up. And, by the way, Im already loving this after just one day. Both the picture and the sound are excellent!

Im always tempted to get the more expensive product. After all, capitalism works--and better stuff usually costs more. It has served me well over the years. However, with accessory cables, thats not always the case. It most certainly paid off to spend more on analog cable, with all the potential issues (electromagnetic interference, radio frequency interference, impedance mismatches, connector integrity, etc.). However, with digital cable, you most often either get a great signal or no signal. The interference issues remain, but not nearly to the degree they do with analog cable. The BlueRigger cable is built to mitigate signal issues. Copper wire? Check. Noise shielding? Check. Strain relief? Check. Gold-plated connectors? Check. Rugged jacket? Check. The BlueRigger works as advertised, providing a perfect image when used with my Dell convertible laptop/tablet. It also makes a great monitor cable for my Mac Mini, delivering the maximum resolution to a Dell wide-gamut 2560 x 1440 monitor. As a bonus, it even appears to be extremely well-made. And for a killer price.

Great value for the price and durable too! It works great to connect my Early 2011 MacBook Pro to my TV via HDMI! This mini Display port adapter is very helpful for watching movies, doing presentations, looking over photos, you name it! Im very glad I bought this adapter here on Amazon as opposed to buying it directly from Apple, which likely would have been a lot more expensive! I bought this specifically because it came with both the mini Display port and a 10ft (very helpful) HDMI cord, definitely a good value for $12! The only downside I have so far with the adapter, is that the audio comes from my laptop, not the TV its plugged into when playing. Now this can be a good or bad thing, depending on the sound quality of your speakers and when your watching a movie especially. Im not sure if this is fixable or not, but for what it does so far, it works great for me! Overall Im happy with my purchase, the quality of the cords are thick and durable and the price was pretty much unbeatable! I will definitely purchase from BlueRigger in the future and will recommend this product to others looking to buy!
