I’ve had a Home Theater with a 120” wall screen for 10+ years. The ViewSonic PX700HD 3D projector is the best, period. My intention here is to high light the best / most used features only. The rest speaks for itself. First the online User Manual (88 pages) is very informative and useful. I recommend printing a copy for as needed use. In manual order the high lights is as follows; Remote - HDMI 1 & 2 use only high speed cables, AUDIO OUT is the internal 2w mixed mono only, AUTO SYNC is for timing (frame rate) vs picture, FREEZE freezes (pauses) screen, BLANK hides screen (blackens), ECO MODE is the Lamp Mode Selector, MUTE internal audio (speaker) only. NOTE: Remote works fine aiming at the screen up to 20’. Projector Positioning - always open air / high clean area. NOTE: I’ve mounted my entire system on high wall shelving opposite screen at 14’. Audio is HDMI or better. Projector bulb is 203w at 3500 lumens. NOTE: ECO MODE is ECO for normal selection (bulb life extends up to 15,000hrs). PASSWORD feature available. Screen Color has a 6 color wheel. CEC Feature (Consumers Electronics Control) syncs components On/Off power via the HDMI cables only. 3D Functionality (Awesome this is the best ever). NOTE: You MUST HAVE: 1. 3D Projector. 2. 3D Glasses ( recommend, Ultimate 3D Heaven Ultra Clear 144hz DLP Link Glasses). 3. 3D Blu-ray player. 4. 3D Blu-ray movie. 5. High Speed HDMI Cables. In Summary the PX700HD has one of the highest brightness at 3500 lumens. Even in the ECO setting is plenty bright even with a lighted room. (Not recommended because of glare. Also this is a theater environment). The frame rate allows for almost no lag time in video gaming. I play many PS3 & PS4 games. The 6 color wheel delivers beautiful colorization for all modes, sports, movies, gaming, utube, internet etc. I use this unit like a TV. And it delivers. Also no viewing limited angles. For under $500 your home theater is available. My last note is the utilize my living space or theater space a normal bedroom I’ve painted my screen on the wall using professional reflective screen paint. Enjoy.

Install Flash Player This projector is bright, its like having a giant led tv. Screen resolution is awesome as well, I cant really tell the difference between some 4k TVs to this. Super quiet and boots up in like 10-15 secs. , thats not bad. Price point is great, think about it, buying a 70" for about $1200-$2000, this will go up to 300". Trust me buy this and you wont want to go back to a normal tv. Plus if you move, how hard is it to move a large tv and not scratch or damage it. Just throw this in a box and your off. My recommendation is buy a sound bar with a wireless sub and a pull down/motorized screen. If you ever had doubts about projectors, this will change your mind. These are what the future of TVs are going to.

This is my second projector and we have a dedicated theater set-up in the basement that is totally light controlled. One problem with our set-up is we have ductwork right where a projector would typically be mounted on ceiling. This being short throw makes it possible to mount on ceiling in front of ductwork. For now we just have it on a table. Great super sharp image. Colors really pop. I didn’t notice any issues with brightness uniformity but I’m no video-phile. Zero noticeable lag when gaming on ps4. The speaker is not too bad but we have surround sound hooked up. One thing I did notice is if you have any slight wrinkle in your screen it will be more noticeable on this short throw vs normal throw projector. I’m using a diy blackout cloth screen. So after 2 days use I’m super impressed and would totally recommend this projector. I have to tinker with it a little more and get it hung on ceiling yet. One feature I did notice is there is a setting to select the color of the wall/screen you’re using. If you’re looking to buy this to break out for some quick gaming/movie action and you’re just using your wall this would be helpful.

Probably one of the best 1080p projectors out there. It was really hard to find something that I did not like. I love everything about this movie projector, especially the vivid colors and deep blacks it produces. One thing that blew me away was their software that allows you to save your color settings, great feature to have if you’re switching between a movie that’s super dark or a movie that has a lot of colors.

Overall, this was a very good projector, but I ended up having to return it. The picture quality was very good and very surprising for the price. The picture was bright enough, but the projector I ended up choosing to replace this one was brighter even though that one has less lumens. I’m no expert on projectors, so I don’t know what all factors into that. The fan was also very quiet. It’s a barely noticeable low hum. The speakers were also decent enough for on board speakers. This might sound silly, but the deal breaker for me was the overthrow/gray area that bordered the image. I don’t have a screen, so the border was very noticeable and distracting. I’m sure for people with screens that have the velvet border around it to catch the overthrow, it’s no issue, but it was way too obvious, especially when I had to use the keystone to make adjustments. If anyone is curious, the gray area was a little over 4.5” for me. The projector I ended up with has a border that’s probably less than an inch and barely visible.

Im generally good at studying reviews to figure out whats likely to be what. But, in this case, I was overwhelmed by the vast number of models, production years, and various other recommendations for minimum lumens, minimum resolution, etc.. When I chose this one, I wasnt sure it would really be excellent. All I will say now is that I use it with a Fire Stick and the Elite 120 inch screen. Ive used it indoors only (so far) WITH some ambient lighting, and the thing looks genuinely like a 1080p television. Very bright, very fluid. Nothing disappointing in the least. Just a terrific choice. Wouldnt change a thing.

Seen alot of mixed reviews about this projector. The bad reviews Id say are mostly dumb people who dont know how to use things like this and arent problem solvers at all. It was really easy to setup easy to get set exactly how I wanted it. I just played with the settings for 15 min and I had it exactly how I wanted. Theres no lag time and the picture is amazing. Well worth every penny.

After weeks of research for the best 1080p Projector a person could buy for under $ 500 I decided on the Viewsonic PX700HD. Recieved it a day ago . Viewsonic Box had been retaped up so i was skeptical it was used. But after hooking it up and powering it up Im blown away by the sharpness and brightness and colors . I had it setup at a distance of 13 ft and it filled my 120" Screen perfectly. Watch my Buckeyes win and had a few beers in my new Home theater made for a perfect saturday night . I paired it with a nice Vizio 5.1 Sound Bar Smartcast wireless system added to the beautiful images. Cant wait to take it outside for evening movie and game night . As well as trying out the 3D Output Btw it looks great even with the lights .

I originally purchased an UHD60 and well it went back as fast as I got it. It was large, heavy, and to be honest the quality wasnt that amazing. I decided to skip the 4K propaganda and just go with a 1080P projector. Glad I did. This is really an awesome projector. It is a small form factor, light weight and easy to mount. The projector sits at 166" and throws a 120" screen and slightly over the screen. This is fine for us. For the price it cant be beat to be honest.

Disappointing picture quality, especially in the Brightest setting. Colors appear washed-out. Definitely not bright enough to watch un anything but the darkest rooms. Surprisingly quiet, though doesnt make up for the poor picture quality. Going back.
