This is not my first pocket led projector. It is my fifth. So I have a little experience with these and I was not impressed with this unit at all. I am not saying that this is a bad projector, but for this price range, I have had way better. Lets take a look at each factor that made me decided to return this unit. I will be comparing it to my last unit that was the Pocket Pico Mobile Projector from PocketPico (no longer available). 1. SIZE. This unit is much larger than a smartphone, (maybe about 2.5 times larger) and pretty heavy, so I would not say this is a Pocket projector. Portable yes, but not made to carry in your pocket. My last unit (the Pocket Pico) was about the same size and weight as a Samsung Galaxy S4. 2. BRIGHTNESS. This unit is really only usable in a totally dark environment. I had to go into my bedroom and cover the windows with heavy blankets and get it almost totally dark to really see this picture well. Even then, any dark areas of the video were just black with no detail. Only bright white and light colored images were clear. I tried all the Picture settings and none of them improved the picture. The USER setting allows you to bump up the brightness, but all that does is wash out the image. My four-year-old Pocket Pico was also rated at 100 Lumens, and it was much brighter than this, in spite of being 1/3 third the size and weight of this unit. 3. SOUND. This thing has a built-in speaker, but it is not as loud as the speaker on my S6 smartphone. I bumped the volume to maximum loudness and I would say that is about 75% as loud as my Galaxy S6 smartphone. It was so low that I could not really tell much about the quality. From what I heard, it sounded small and tiny. Again my old Pocket Pico that was 1/3 the size of this had a much louder speaker and I could use it in my living room and it was loud enough. 4. POWER. This was one of the main reason I returned this unit. I did not test this unit long enough to see how long the power would last. The manufacturer claims 2 hours. That is fine but what happens when that 2 hours are up? Well, every other portable led projector I have ever owned can be power by the same external USB power pack as you would use to charge your phone. Not this one. This one is powered by 12-volts, not 5-volts which is what USB battery packs supply. So, this is not a truly PORTABLE projector. You can never go far from an AC outlet with this unit. In a world where every other portable electronic device runs off of 5-volts, there is no reason that this projector should have been designed to run off of 12-volts. 5. WIRELESS. This unit has no wireless connectivity. When even the most budget $40 smartphones out there all have Bluetooth and WIFI, it seems strange that a $200 projector would not. Again, my old Pocket Pico had all this and I just find it hard to understand why they would not put this on a portable unit so you dont have to carry around a bunch of cords in your pocket. Again, I am not saying this unit is bad. It does work. But compared to what I am used to in this $200 price range, it does not offer a whole lot of bang for the buck when you compare it to competing products. The one thing I did like about this unit was the tripod it came with. My pocket pico came with a tiny flimsy piece of junk, but the tripod with this unit was really pretty good, and of a creative unique design I have never seen before.
