Best mini projector for the money. It has generous 720p native resolution. I know it has only 130 lumens and can only be used in the dark, but...... I like how it’s one of the few projectors that features an LCOS imager, which is more advanced, clearer, and less-pixelized than DLP imager found in most other popular pico projectors. Plus, it has a whopping 100,000:1 contrast ratio for rich black and white color. I prefer to use this LG PH150G projector over my other DLP pico projector that has 400 lumens for actually beautiful, high contrast, non-pixelized screen.

This is an amazingly compact LED projector - and battery powered as well. Its great for on-the-go media. Using Bluetooth, it can connect to Windows or Android devices - and Bluetooth speakers - to display video along with sound. The projection optics are interesting - its set up so that it can be roughly level with the bottom of the projection surface while projecting an image thats not distorted into a keystone shape. This means you can set it up on a table in front of you and watch without having to have it sitting right in the center of your field of view. A simple lever above the lens lets you focus it, and the image is sharp, the colors vibrant. I have used it with my Macintosh Macbook Pro, although it does not support Macs via Bluetooth. I simply got a HDMI cable that plugs into my Macs mini-display port and connected it to the HDMI port on the back of the projector. It started mirroring the sceen with no problems. Sound doesnt come out of the mini-display port on my particular Mac, but since it has its own Bluetooth, I was able to connect to the speakers directly. (There appears to be a speaker in the projector, and a headphone port in case you dont have Bluetooth speakers.) Watching a DVD was no problem. The projector comes with a remote control you use to do set up - the basic functions are easy to work through, and the manual shows ways to access more detailed functions. I was able to connect the projector to a DVD/VHS player via an HDMI cable that allowed sound through it as well, so I connected to Bluetooth speakers using the projector. You still have to adjust the volume on the speakers, but once thats done you can use the projector remote to control volume. You should be able to use this with any media source that has HDMI out. In a way, this is like a next generation video projection system - you can have the big image without the big price tag for a large flat screen display. Im using a compact set of Bluetooth speakers for audio, BF&A Bonfire Acoustic MM2B LAP TOP , DESK TOP PC Speaker (Black) Despite their small size, they have good sound quality - and they came with a carrying case and multiple power adapters for plugs around the world. Theyre a good match for the size of the projector; you could pack them all in a attache-sized carrying case and have a portable media presentation system. Heres another tip - if youve still got one of the old screens people used to use for home movies and slide shows, it will work great with this projector. The only issue is one youd expect. Since this is a projector, it works best in low-light situations. Youll need to darken the room to get good viewing during the day. LG has a higher end projector that supposedly has a brighter light source, but this one is still pretty impressive - and it doesnt get hot the way old movie and slide projectors did, or need a noisy fan. The closer you have the screen to the projector, the brighter the image is, of course. The optics project a wide image - at a distance of only about 5 feet between the projector and the screen, the image is about 3 feet wide. You dont need a lot of room to get a big picture. If youre looking for a way to have a big screen media set up without losing a lot of real estate to a dedicated system, this is one you can set up when you want to watch, and put away when youre done. Nice. UPDATE: I still like the features and compact size of this projector, but Ive found that using it for presentations is a little bit uphill for it. That it runs on batteries is good for when power outlets arent handy. The trade-off is that it really needs dim lighting to work well. Thats not a problem if you are using it for home video where you can pull curtains, etc. to dim things, not so convenient for a presentation in a meeting hall where there are windows. I have upgraded to a new laptop since first writing this review. I was able to find an HDMI cable with the latest USB C connector, so I can now plug it in directly and it works fine.

The LG Electronics PH150G LED Projector is awesome. Im reviewing this based against a previous purchase of an LG PV150G and my older gen Sanyo PLV Z1. My old Sanyo was a full sized "half HD" projector. It could throw up a nice and bright 10" screen with plenty of "lumens" at 700. The LGs are newer gen, though modest and compact. The LGs offer convenience with a blend of good performance. The LG mini projectors are only rated 130 and 100 respectively, but their contrast is way beyond that of the old Sanyo at 100,000 vs 800. And of course these mini projectors run a lot cooler. Comparing the PH150G and the PV150G, both seem to be the base model for whatever series they are in. Resolution gets bumped up from 854*480 to 1280*720 (PV to PH). Size and weight is quite similar as well. You also get additional Bluetooth speaker support in the PH150G where there was none in the PV150G. Amazingly enough, the main difference is going from DLP in the PV150G to LSCOS in the PH150G. Both feature the wireless mirroring that is oh so awesome. Performance and convenience improved across the board. Cant go wrong for a mini projector at this price to performance.

Its by far the best projector you can get at this price, but only has the lowest HD resolution (720p). If it were 1080p and at this price, it would be perfect.

This projector is awesome!! So tiny and so much power. Great for business use, but also for family/friends movie viewing or photograph sharing party. Easy to use as well. Well worth the price.
