The projector in itself is great. We bought it during the thanksgiving sale and it worked great. However, one day it just wouldnt turn on. No damage or anything, just wont turn on. Now, we have a projector that wont work, amazon wont replace because the return window is expired. I have been asked to reach out to the manufacturer for a replacement.

This is my second projector, with my 1st being a more expensive Epson 8100, which after 10 years finally stopped working. This is a good projector for the money. Its very bright and resolution is very crisp. I bought this model largely because of my previous experience with Epson and the $49 replacement lamps, which are over $200 on most other models. Compared to the more expensive model I had before, this one doesnt have the greatest setup features. The zoom is only 1.6 which limits the distances where the projector can be placed. Second, the unit only has vertical lens shift, which limits where you can mount it, I will need to move my mount slightly to account for the lack of zoom and horizontal lens shift, but considering the cost thats ok. What you also dont get is fine quality focus or lens that you would on +$1000 units. I found the unit hard to focus to a very fine level due to the focus controls imprecision. Also I noticed that focus degrades as you move from center. Noticeable on the test pattern, less so on content.. The black level on this projector is good but not great, totally watchable but on dark scenes I wished for deeper blacks. Unfortunately, youll need to spend closer to $2000 if you crave inky blacks. This projector has a 2 year warranty which is great at this price, and having used it on my previous Epson, Ill tell you their service is excellent, youll have a replacement within a day should you need one. I found the build quality on this unit good for the price point. Its very light so mounting it is easy. Overall, Im pleased, a really nice projector. Its bright enough to overcome some ambient light in a room to watch football and still has the quality to turn down the lights and provide an excellent picture on movie night.

Previously I had falsely accused this thing of have bright vertical streaks across the picture, - but it turns out the culprit is my Elite Screens CineGrey 3D, which has, for some reason, a vertical line of brighter paint/material at random intervals across the screen. As for the projector itself, the veritcal lens shift and manual horizontal keystone are a godsend for ease of placement. It is very bright, and high in color saturation and accuracy. Picture has just as much contrast (if not more) than my previous love, the BenQ HT2150ST, and blacks are just as black as well. I switched to this Epson because I needed a much brighter solution to suit my habit of viewing in daylight, and it has lived up to that task admirably. Granted, the Epson is not as sharp as the BenQ model I had, but it is a barely noticeable difference, and with the sharpness and detail enhancement on, this Epson is just as sharp as the BenQ, even if it only occurs after these processing methods. All in all, a great projector. More update: So I I started noticing a lot of color and contrast inaccuracies and graininess so I switched to the BenQ 2050A, and wow what a night and day difference. The Epson is fine and very very bright, but if it’s picture quality and finesse you’re looking for, definitely go with the BenQ 2050A for less.

In September of 2017 I purchased my first Epson 2150 home projector. That projectors to work.. Being under warrant, the factory replaced it. Then, that replacement also failed. Shortly after receiving and installing the second replacement projector, it’s lamp also failed. Now on October 15th 2018, they are shipping my fourth unit. All three had bulbs that failed to light up after a minimum of five to ten hours service. Epson has confirmed I have received defective units an offers there apologies. I asked to pay extra to upgrade, but was told it was not an option. They will continue to replace them until that model is discontinued. I hope my fourth unit is better than the first three.

There are better projectors, and there are cheaper projectors. So why would you get this one? I believe for the price, it is one of the most versatile. It has good enough contrast and black levels for indoor, low-light use, yet is bright enough for outdoor use. Its zoom lens and vertical shift mean placement is not as critical as with some other projectors. The picture quality is fantastic right out of the box. We use the "cinema" mode inside and I havent felt the need to fine tune it at all. I just turn it on and get lost in the cinematic experience. And for bonus points, the replacement lamps only cost fifty bucks from Epson. If you ever need to replace the lamp, the total cost of ownership is competitive with just about any name brand HD projector.

This projector is replacing a BenQ W1070. I love the projector, is brighter than the BenQ cause is has 2500 lumens and the BenQ 2000 but picture wise I think they are booth on par (same same) Great outstanding colors plus you get the wireless feature with the epson. The only down point is the fan noise when you have it in regular power instead of Eco, but once you have the movie going you wont hear the fan noise anymore. I have around 3000 hours on my BenQ so it was almost time to replace the bulb. The only reason why Im keeping this Epson is cause the bulb replacement is $50 instead of $250 for the BenQ, so is a keeper. Hopefully it will give me years of entertainment with no problems at all. BenQ if you reading this you will be loosing a lot of costumers just cause your prices on the bulb replacements. $50 or $250???

Very solid projector for the price, the picture is crisp the settings are very user friendly, the set up is quick. I have it on a blank wall and it looks great even without a screen. Colors are a little washed in ambient light but that’s to be expected with a projector. In a dark room it looks better than my LG flatscreen tv. 110” diagonal screen from 11ft away was not too shabby. Only critique is the blacks are not very “black” but that’s the compromise for brighter picture. Overall I’m happy with it. You will need a sound system or sound bar because the speaker is not great.

Great price, great picture, surprisingly bright even in daylight. I purchased this for a simple home theater setup and am really happy with the purchase. I can see why the reviews are strong for this projector. LED was important to me as I was afraid of the "rainbow effect" and this picture is bright, clear, and looks great on my 120" screen. I used the mirrorcast but it didnt format the picture correctly. I am going to hook it up to Roku for smart features, Im not sure I would rely on the built in wifi capabilities. I took off one star because of the fan noise. Its not too noticable when the movie is going but when there is no sound you definitely hear it. Overall very happy with the picture for the price.

This is a great projector. I was in between an 85" TV and this. So far I have no screen to watch it on. Its awesome on the wall. Audio works as well as a TV. Projector is quiet. I am using it like a TV. So obviously I am not a black room videophile. I love watching TV and movies and want it as bright as possible. On very sunny days in the morning the picture is harder to see but its noon and for Fathers day I already watched How to train your dragon 3 with the kids and I am now watching TV on what is a 114" * 68" area on a rainy day in a room with 2 windows and no blackout. This was my worry. Daytime viewing. But its great. One thing I did not like was the audio output is not digital optical. I am sure its still great but I dont have the standard wire for my soundbar. Had to order it. Minor issue. I did try the 3D and it was great. The upconvert did not work for me because currently the projector is not ce theres. It is 10 to the left of where I am projecting it and I have it angled back to the screen. Great picture.

Excellent projector conpared to my $60 "1800 Lumen" projector. Just night and day. No rainbow effect as described. Roof mounted with ease tho hard to find what screws it needed to mount it on the bracket and once I found out they were thin screws I was worried but its held. Great picture at 11 away from wall with plenty of light with lamps turned on tho dark scenes might be hard to make out. Bought in october and i already have put 500h on the bulb but replacement bulbs are cheap so not worried. Gaming wise... I felt some delay when playing Smash Bros Ultimate even with interlacing off and fast processing. My only issue is that it only has 2 HDMI so I had to buy a switch for my other devices but Overall excellent device.
