We use this projector in a small movie theater room with Chromecast or Fire Stick HDMI inputs. The picture quality is amazingly bright and crisp. The major downside is the audio output. We tried to use the 3.5 mm output jack with external speakers. The audio output is lower than a common cell phone speaker with both the projector volume and external speakers set to max. This must be a problem with the projector software or hardware as our external speakers are more than sufficient when attached to any other device. Honestly, I cant believe that BenQ released something with such a serious flaw, and wish we had known this before purchasing our projector. Tech support suggested that we purchase additional hardware to compensate for their engineering oversight. I guess this projector should not be considered as a stand-alone piece of equipment if you actually want to hear your movies/games.

Great picture, TERRIBLE sound. I recieved this today and have been trying to set up sound for hours. I had read that the sound was bad prior to purchasing but I have several different speakers, amps and sound systems that I thought I could route sound through. I was wrong! The speakers on the projector are VERY quiet. I live at approx 5000 feet in elevation which requires the fans on the projector to run at a higher speed. The speakers are NOT audible over the fan. Dont get me wrong, the fan isnt very loud, the speakers are just terrible. Unless I can figure out how to get cinema quality sound in the next few hours, this projector will be returned.
