Artograph Flare150 Art Projector, White

Im an artist and Ive been researching projectors for some time now. I decided to go ahead and splurge on a more expensive projector that had more capabilities as well as a higher dpi/resolution. I havent projected farther away than about 2-3 feet so far but everything Ive projected looks great and its very clear. Very satisfied with this purchase.

I do not use the unit for home theatre. In my use for art work it works well. The only problem I had was that an included 4gb flash drive was corrupted and would not "fix" or "reformat". It did not contain critical data and flash drives are available elsewhere. Not good, but not a deal breaker. I think that for artist, the unit is better than trying to jerry-rig a multimedia projector for closer canvas detail work. Art work is what its made for and thats what it does. The quick set up guide shows the button on top as a power button. I pushed it and nothing happened. For a moment I thought that the unit was failed. The top button is really a sleep/wake button and the true power button is a slide switch on the side. The slide switch actually turns the power on and off. When I slid it to the on position, all worked well. The Quick set up manual might better handle that. The light output is adequate for working on canvas even in well lighted rooms. No problem there. The image is clear and easily adequate for sketching in details for a painting. The unit is well designed and constructed. I wish a USB cable which would connect the unit to a PC was part of the package. The package does include an HDMI cable. I had an issue with the units light Blinking while moving the projected image up/down to adjust the image. I contacted Customer service and they went to a great deal of effort to provide an answer. It turns out the blinking was the normal image adjustment and was actually a positive feature of the unit, not a problem. I was highly impressed with the customer service response both by email and telephone.

Ok, so I never purchase something on Amazon that I am unfamiliar with, without first reading so many reviews. Ironically, I am not one to post reviews on things I purchase because let me just admit.. I’m probably an Amazon junkie and simply don’t take the time to write those reviews. With that said.. I opened this little gem, connected it, pulled up a photo and and I was in awe! The best thing about it is I opened it at 3:00 in the afternoon, in a fully bright room with all of the windows open. I was pleasantly surprised how great my photos looked once projected onto the canvas. Then it got dark outside and OH.EM.GEE... I felt like I was looking at the actual photo. The detail was amazing. It was as clear as it was on my computer. I am not even sure I’ll sleep tonight, I’m so excited to paint something. I do not know how I ever lived without a projector and this one is definitely worth every penny! Love.love.love

LOVE IT. I’d better for the price though! It works while you are charging it and if it is charged works without the cord. Comes with a remote, a flash drive, a flash drive adaptor to work with memory cards, a small case that really can only fit the projector (not the remote unfortunately) and of course the projector itself. Images show up clear and bright even when they are shown in a lighted room. Although I wouldn’t recommend projecting a small and dark image in a lighted room, you won’t get much detail. I thought about getting a normal projector but for $100 more the portable compact size and crisp images are well worth it to me. I work on very large canvases so I can’t say too much about how it would be for smaller pieces

Expensive as hell? Yep. But worth it in the long run? YES. For what I do professionally (portrait work, custom sign work) this is a MUST HAVE. It is small, lightweight, portable, and efficient. Easy to work with and use. I couldnt live without it now.

I love how how small and surprisingly bright it is. Very clear & crisp image quality for rotoscoping (tracing). If youre using a Mac, buy the USB to HDMI DVI adapter or youll be dead in the water.

Replacing my old Artograph opaque projector and wish Id done this sooner. This digital projector has lots of features, is bright enough to work with some light in the room, and can be used for slide presentation. Its a fantastic tool for making art. I love it!

As a working artist I find this indispensable for mural work and transferring my drawing to a large canvas. Expensive tool but worth it. I cant say much about the other features because I only use it for art work. The grid feature is great.

Love this thing. I wished I had this 20 or 30 years ago. My productivity has greatly increased. Clear and projects a very nice image. I would use this to project movies but mostly I keep this in my studio to project images for long periods of time.
