Had high hopes for this player. Unfortunately, I had to return it. After downloading the update and following all of the instructions, while playing a blu-ray movie, it would loose the picture and sound for about 30 seconds. This kept happening until I just gave up on the movie. Also with trying to stream from You Tube. It was connected with preamium HDMI cables, through a LG SJ9 soundbar, to a a Samsung 8550 UHD TV.

The 5th disc I put in started cutting out every 10 seconds for 1 second, and every disc after that the same thing. Now I have to send the POS back in. This destroyed my confidence in Sony ES products.

Takes a few passes to get all your signal processing configured and everything setup properly, but once you do, works perfectly. The interface is snappy, and support for all the latest Blu-ray formats gives you a tiny bit of future proofing. Coming from an Oppo, the quality of construction and connectivity options aren’t quite as impressive, but this is a player that I’ll keep for several years.

The player I received would only connect with my newer smart TV at the lowest resolution of 480p, would not play blu ray or 4k resolution. Calling the Sony help line was challenging because of language problems. They were unable to offer a fix for the connection issue. Be careful on ordering because of potential issues and the less than satisfactory product support available. Returning the player.

Only Sony can deliver this level of quality for both audio and visual....they dedicated two separate input jacks for this purpose!

The user interface sucks. Not only is it difficult to use but it also fails to update my watch list unless I stand on my head and hold up my right arm and jump three times backward. It is so very annoying to use.

Havent used it for 4K discs yet but works fine on all other music CDs and DVDs Ive tried

Awesome product but just a hair expensive! No issues whatsoever, just updated the firmware and off and running. So much better than my old Samsung UBD k8700 4k player.
