We bought this in mid June. Easy set-up, worked just great! In July my Mom-in-Law needed one so we ordered another (Obviously I was pretty confident in the product). Mid October sound started fading, had to turn up my amp every night to get same level. Then silence. Now three weeks later I took time to trouble-shoot and make certain just where problem is. Yep, DVD player HDMI still provides video but not audio. All other parts of system check out. Return date ended mid July. Product support ended mid September. Also is the worst possible button layout on remote. And... no way to tell any status, no little light to give us a clue if power is even on, etc. Mother In Law never could get hers going. Lost money and AttaBoy points!

This product was amazing for the price. Our old blu-ray player broke and we needed a good one that would get her fast and allow us to still access Netflix and Amazon, etc. It’s so much smaller than our old one which is great and it’s easy to install. I had more trouble with my internet provider and getting the WiFi connected than anything. Spent 35 min on the phone with them and it was their settings. Nothing to do with the player. I would buy this product again if I needed one.

5 days past the return date I discovered that this player will not play DVDs - so Im stuck with it and I got Sc_ _ _ _ d ! Not a happy camper at all .

I read reviews for tons of BluRay players looking for a good one with WiFi at a decent price point. This one fit the bill, although there were quite a few reviews knocking the WiFi. Well, I agree with them. As a BluRay player, this works great. The picture quality is superb, and it’s easy to use. However, using it for Netflix or other streaming service can be a bit of a pain. My player is located about 30-40’ from my wireless router with just one interior wall between them. My router is strong enough to send a good signal to my back bedroom (about 60 feet and through 3 walls), so the router is not the issue. When I first connect it to the router, there’s usually no issue, but after powering off the player and then turning it back on later, it usually won’t reconnect to the router. Most of the time, I’ll have to reboot my router and then reconnect the player to it by typing in the password. Once it connects, I usually have no issues streaming, but it can be a real pain if it is having those connection issues, which is often. I have contacted customer service and tried their recommendations to no avail. One of their recommendations was to plug the player in to the router with a network cable! If I wanted to do that, I would have bought a cheaper player without WiFi! Another minor annoyance is the lack of any kind of power indicator on the front of the player. It makes it difficult to know whether or not it’s turned on. It’s not a big deal, but it seems like something that should be standard. Overall, I’m pretty happy with it. If the WiFi connection was consistent, then I’d definitely give it 5 stars, but that’s a big issue for something that boasts WiFi capabilities.

Worked fine for six months. Now it does nothing. I have chatted and emailed Samsung dozens of times about getting it repaired. No such luck.

I ordered this product in Feb with the hope of being able to play my Netflix and Amazon prime movies from it. The player required me to "update" but I was not able to do it as it was requesting. So I had to send it in cor repair. This whole process took about a month (all while Im still paying for Netflix). Got the DVD player back and it work3d for a few weeks and then the SAME error message was showing up. I emailed Samsung and told them my situation. They said the only thing they could offer was to "repair" the unit. So within the last 5 months, I have been without my player for about 2....this is not been a very enjoyable experience. Although samsung has offered to repair the unit again, it is a pain in the butt!!

Very basic, low-end starter box, maybe. Having trouble with it freezing up when it needs to update the software. Only pulling the plug gets it to stop. Then, the update isnt successful. Have been using it by saying "no" to the update window when it pops up. If youre desperate and/or cant go out shopping to buy something else, then get this. I had one just like it a few years ago and it worked fine. Maybe just this machine has a problem. Who knows, its not worth the hassle sending it back.
