Generates sound only to TV set meaning you cannot connect to amplifier via RCA outputs.This will not allow experience of Sorround Sound via RCA cables.

Initially was unable to use non-US discs; much frustration as the documentation was missing (probably Samsungs fault). But after a bit of work with Global Electronics, I received a firmware update link that allowed me to flash the drive. Now my European DVDs play excellently with no problem at all; no issues at all with PAL or Region 2. Have not used it with a BluRay yet, but I only own one of those, but will definitely start cruising for my favorite films and videos. Many thanks to Global for following through with after-sale service. More stars are not possible to show my elation!

I purchased this DVD player with the intention of utilizing it to play my workout DVDs & have the ability to stream Hulu & Netflix on. When the player is first turned on, no functions work until you go into the settings section & click into the network section which then will connect it to the Internet - it does not do it automatically. From there you can play DVDs or stream your favorite shows. From time to time the network will cut out for freezing causing you to need to restart it but once you do things continue smoothly. Overal it is a good product it just has a few unusual flaws for the price point. I unfortunately cannot return it because I mainly bought it to play my DVD workouts & would not have any other way to play them without it.
