It played 3 blue rays in its life, I dont watch a lot of blue rays or dvds but this player played 1 disc in the first month, had to play with it to get it to play 1 a month later, then another disc a couple months later then it totally quit and I couldnt make it work it again. The last disc I put in it got ruined when I tried to manually extract it.

i bought this item for a friend on the West Coast, I live in northern NY. In any case it doesnt work. She didnt know how to hook it up herself and waited until recently to hook up the DVD Player. The light doesnt even come on to indicate it has power going to it. Needless to say the time in which it is given to return product has expired, so I am out the money and feel cheated. When I pay for something I expect it to work and do not expect to find a short period within which to return the product, only to find the return policy has been nullified. This works well for people who sell bad products. The fact that it came out of NYC should have been a warning to begin with. MY BAD!

I was in search of something to play DVDs and maybe blu rays on, and I already had a Fire TV stick - no need to be internet connected or have streaming functionality. Therefore, I wanted something cheap and not fancy. This perfect for my needs. PROS - Small and all black, easy to fit and keep discreet in my modest entertainment space - Plays Blu rays and DVDs - this is the most important part for me! Ive had no issues getting it to work consistently. - It has two buttons that you can feel on the actual device in addition to the remote - power and eject. (It is a pet peeve of mine when tech companies design "buttons" that you are supposed to touch, but you cant feel or see them in the dark.) CONS - Hardline internet connection only. I dont care about this, but others might. - Out of date interface. Again, I dont care about this, but others might. - You can live stream through some apps on this, but it will definitely be less robust than something like the Fire TV, Apple TV or Roku.

I enjoy everything about this player. The only downside is that the sound connection is digital connection, you need a special connector to set up regular speakers, prices ranging from $11.00 to $60.00. New optical speakers has a wide range in price, from approx. $24.00 to over $2,000.00. you just have to shop around to find the quality you like and can afford. Like I said the player its good for the buck.

Pro: It arrived with remote and cables as advertised. Compact size. Con: Unit turned on, ran set up, then never powered on again. No power lights, anywhere. Is it on or off? Is it even receiving power? Who knows. The basic LED display included on every DVD player since the dawn of time is absent. This is just a black box with a tray and 2 buttons on the front. This would have really helped with the whole, "Is it even on?" issue that we had. Overall: Less functional than my 20-year old VHS player.

This little guy is a real gem. It fits nicely in a small space, plays DVD and Blu-Ray discs. I was happily surprised to find out that it also had an Ethernet port. This allowed me to plug it into my router, running a variety of web-based services, such as Netflix, Amazon Prime and several more, with no computer required. These apps are embedded in the OS of the DVD player, making it easy to view right on the TV screen. The only small complaint that I have is that there is no power light. You can’t tell if it’s on or not. This simple light can help when troubleshooting connectivity issues, like a loose or defective HDMI cable. All things considered, and especially considering the price, this unit pack a lot of features into a small package. Recommend.

I bought this Samsung because my previous Blu-Ray/DVD player was a Samsung and I was always happy with that unit until it stopped playing the Blu-Ray discs last year. Having finally gotten myself a big screen tv, a 40", for Christmas, I finally decided it was time to get a new Blu-Ray. And I am so glad I did! So much detail. Im seeing things that I never saw before even in my often-watched Star Wars and Star Trek movies! So happy I made this purchase!

I dont watch much TV, but I have a shelf full of DVDs that were fun to watch the first time around. I wanted a Blu-Ray so I could get some better quality DVDs in the future, but Im still able to watch a good movie when I find the time. I did hook up the HDMI wrong, and I drove my son crazy with phone calls. Very embarrassing.
