This player works great on my LG 65" OLED TV. Easy to watch movies in 4K Ultra HDR . The only downside is the cooling fan inside of this unit makes more noise than I would like. In quite parts of a movie I can hear the fan running.

I purchased this unit on Thanksgiving. Ive been hoping for a sale. My needs for this product are a little unique. I am a blind individual, Philips has implemented a screen reader in their new TV and Home Video lines. I was able to completely setup without any assistance. Setup and update was easy enough. Although, the UI is clunky and takes getting used to. The navigational cursor on remote is a PIA... Needs a redesign. With that said, I do like the unit and its ease of use. For my blind family.... make sure your wireless password doesnt include symbols. The screen reader wasnt reading symbols to input in text field. Characters and numbers are no issue. Also, it states YouTube will not work with Voice Guide. I’ll use apps on Apple TV or Fire... no big deal! Dolby Atmos is fantastic on this player. Worked as it should.

Overall a nice size and good picture quality. The picture was not as good as I expected, given the 4K input & display, but that could be as much the quality of the movie. This player does come with a free 4K movie Creed, with Sylvester Stallone. Non 4K Blu-Ray disks look like they are upconverted a bit. I was surprised to find that this Blu-Ray player had better WiFi reception than my TV or tablet. It would stream Netflix or YouTube when other devices would not. However, this does not include any kind of browser, so if your WiFi connection requires you to confirm agreements on a webpage you will not be able to connect.

So after using the player for a few weeks I can say Im very happy with it. Ive played 30 or so 4Ks and a lot of Blu Rays and it has played them all flawlessly. It does make a little noise but I cant hear it from where I sit when watching TV. It does a nice job upscaling regular blus. It would be nice if it had Dolby Vision already but I only have two 4Ks with DV anyway and there arent anymore coming down the line that have it either so I can wait till they get the upgrade ready.

If the remote and graphics were better I would gladly give this fine product a 5 star rating. Looking at the Samsung 8500 its remote is even worse so this seems to be the norm in this price range. The set up after updating the firmware was a snap but the graphics were pretty washed out and unimpressive however they were simple and easy to understand. I am using a 65" Sony 900C 4K 3D LED TV, Marantz NR1506 AV Receiver with a ORB SS 8 speaker system with dual subwoofers so you know what my point of reference is when I talk about the video and audio performance of this player. With that said this player if I were to rate just video and audio alone is a 5. It has played everything I have tried to date effortlessly although total time to start a 4K DVD is on the slow side even with the energy saver system disabled. Doesnt bother me and unless you are into instant gratification you wont be bothered by it as well. I ended up using the auto everything run mode and think in my case it works perfectly. Sometime less is more. 4K disk performance is inconsistent so be advised. My first 4K DVD I played was Star Trek Beyond and to be frank I was not that impressed with the video ( but the sound was thrilling) as it did not look better then the some up scaled Blu Ray DVDs I have seen. But then I played Warcraft and wow the video matched the audio and it was a real treat. The mechanical functions of this player are solid and quite and makes me think this will be a reliable unit. Nice. Steaming worked flawlessly as I do not have the 4K option with my Netflix it was nice to see it streamed without it. Seemed to stream 4K on YouTube without a hitch. Regular DVDs looked very good with no artifacts and of course Blu Rays 2D and 3D DVDs looked excellent as one would have every reason to expect. Nice touch when playing non 4K DVDs is the ability to fine tune luminance and color as well as sound perimeters. Can help make older DVDs really come to life. Got to say again how fantastic this player reproduces movie sound tracks. Better than any player I have used to date. My biggest gripes with the remote are as follows: 1. Lots of small buttons poorly identified. 2. The master function control pad feels cheap and clicky when used. It compares badly when compared to a Roku for example when used for Netflix or YouTube scanning. To be fair if Philips was going to cut corners somewhere I guess this would be the best place because most of us will end up using a universal learning remote for the basic functions as I have. Would I buy it again? Absolutely. Would I recommend you consider buying one? You bet. 2/17/17 undate: Found out that on my copy of Top Gun Blu Ray I had audio only when I tried to play some of the special features. This is one of my older Blu Ray DVDs so this may have something to do with it. No problems with 4K DVD special features and if I find a solution I will up date. Not a big deal for me but thought everyone should know. This could be a problem unique to my unit and I would not return it for repair for this reason I can get along without this feature just fine. Might even get fixed with the some future update as I suspect its a software glitch. If this should be the case I will update again.

I ordered the BDP7502, but received the BDP7302. From what I have been able to find out, I believe theyre the same.. however, the 7302 may be specific to Sams Club as thats where it was shipped from. The 4k player comes with an HDMI cord which was nice. It didnt come with a manual, so I wasnt sure about some of the player settings. After getting the audio and video set up properly, everything worked beautifully. A message pops up when starting a movie about checking the USB port for BD-Live, it goes away.. you can also insert a USB drive. There hasnt been an update for Dolby Vision as of yet, but Im still very happy with the 4k player and Guardians of the Galaxy 2 looks gorgeous on my 4k TV.

I bought this to use as a 4K player instead of my xbox one x since this player supports Dolby Vision. After updating the firmware out of the box, the Dolby Vision works perfectly and looks amazing. Only issue I’ve seen so far is it stutters some while watching 3D. Looks like I’ll stick to the Xbox for 3D viewing but for 4K blu ray this is the machine I’ll use. Great price and seems to be the best kept secret when it comes to Dolby Vision players.

Pro: One of the few that does ACTUAL 4k to your 4k tv. Many 4k players upscale to be very close to true 4k. This player also does a great job upscaling blu-ray and DVD. Watched my first DVD of "The Siege" from 98 and was actually surprised by how good it looked. Con: Philips dvd players usually are slow to boot and kinda slow interface and this one is no different. It isnt horrible but not great either. (But worth it for it being one of the few players that do Tru-4k )

Loads decently quick, remote is responsive. Image quality is excellent. Seems solid and well built. Not much more to say except that not all UHD transfers are true 4K. Many are 2K (1080P) masters upscaled to 4K format with no increase in real resolution. A recommended magazine is WIDESCREEN REVIEW, aimed at the high end home theater enthusiast, will have detailed UHD title reviews that you wont get elsewhere.

Works great! The unit I received is brand new. The box was unopened. Updating the unit was fast and simple using a wired network connection. I just finished watching the 4K blu ray of the Japanese movie Your Name that I purchased from Amazon.co.jp. The playback performance was fine and everything looked beautiful. The unit itself is nicely designed as a short square box. It is not a large rectangle as other home electronics. It is simple to use, easier than using a PS4 for blu ray playback (Note: PS4 Pro does not support 4K blu ray).
