my last printer was an hp all-in-one printer. the hp set up was super easy and straightforward--even for a non-tech savvy person like me. I chose a b&w laser this time because I really only print academic documents (e.g., papers, articles) and amazon return slips. I dont need color or scanning for that; and the all-in-one printers are kinda bulky. (also, a pet peeve with my inkjet printers has always been that the ink bleeds when I highlight; I really hate that blurring and smudging.) plus, I wanted a laser with auto duplex printing--a must. so I unboxed it last night. live and in person, its more compact than the listed dimensions led me to imagine; so thats a def plus. the major downside was trying to set it up. my laptop doesnt have a cd drive and they dont offer a link or anything in the installation instructions that come with it--strike one. I kept trying to find drivers and installation stuff online. I downloaded stuff from the Xerox web site, but nothing worked. I spent longer than an hour or two trying to figure out how to do it. I searched youtube videos, articles, chats--nothin. finally broke down and called Xerox tech support. the woman who answered seemed to have no deeper knowledge than reading a list of instructions. when I told her I dont have a cd drive, and Im on a Mac, she had no idea. she told be shed transfer me to a special department which had expertise with my model printer and doing a wireless install on a Mac-fair enough. she transferred me into an automated message that the department was closed and to call back. sly?--strike 2. what I ended up having to do was dig out an older Mac that has a cd drive; copying the cd information onto a usb drive, and then using that usb to do the set up on my Mac. that worked, but by then I was kinda annoyed and put out... if I had nothing to compare the experience with Id automatically assume that it was just my fault, but given that Ive had canon and hp printers and never had any such issues doing wireless set up, Im left no very impressed with xerox tbh. I did print out a document to test. it was fine. the auto duplexing worked fine; no jamming. the toner kinda had a strong smell, but maybe that will dissipate after some more use... the lost two stars are for how difficult it was to find installation software; how unintuitive the wireless installation process was; and how disappointing--kinda rude actually--the tech cust service was. however, I does get three stars because it works--finally.

I have read the reviews about how difficult was to set up the printer or how long it took to do it. Well, it took me longer to unbox the printer than setting it up for wireless printing. My Windows laptop doesnt have a CD drive so I downloaded the software/driver from Xerox, I didnt read the quick setup or the installation manual, I just followed the directions that the software/driver was giving me. From unboxing to printing it took me 5 minutes. 1) Unbox printer and remove all shipping covers and the black sheet of paper (you need to remove the toner). 2) Load and adjust paper. 3) Plug the printer, and connect the printer via the provided USB to your computer (dont turn it on yet). 4) Download the software/driver from Xerox: "Phaser 3260 V4 Windows 8 & 10 Print Driver", the file name should be something like: V4XPS_XEROX_PHASER_3260_V12.exe 5) Turn on the Printer. 6) Run the downloaded software/driver ("V4XPS_XEROX_PHASER_3260_V12") on your PC/laptop and follow the instructions (for Wireless Connection, select the obvious option from the menu, select your WIFI network and continue). Then, the software will ask you to disconnect/unplug the USB cable from the PC/laptop. Continue with the installation. 7) Finish and print test page. I printed several documents without problem after the installation. I also checked and printed from an iPhone XS and iPhone 6S using AirPrint without any problem. Enjoy.

The printer works well and is priced very affordably....barely more than the cost of a single toner cartridge...BUT buyers should be aware that XEROX HAS DESIGNED THEIR TONER CARTRIDGES TO AUTOMATICALLY CEASE PRINTING ONCE REACHING A CERTAIN PAGE COUNT, no matter if the prints are still coming out perfectly! There is no way to reset the toner count without voiding the warranty or purchasing a 3rd party chip to override the page count!

Just bought this printer for use with my iMac. Seeing as a mac doesnt have a cd drive you have to download the drivers from xerox. I been trying for 3 days and their service center is down and no estimate time of repair. So the printer works now with a usb and prints good. Just cant print wirelessly which is a bummer

Very easy to set up especially if using ethernet.. The printer is very light and doesnt feel as sturdy as it might. It prints very fast and the duplexing is done well. The printouts are very crisp looking. I would buy again even though I am keeping my old samsung around just in case.

i completely dislike all printers that do Not copy. Really disappointed with this order. Struggling through set up 4 hrs and still hasn’t managed to print one coloring book design from my laptop. Not user friendly. And who wants to have to draw a design, photograph it, save it to a file, then upload it to get copies? Too much work compared to making copies of the originals. Amazon you should list copiers and printers separately, but then you’d be doing your customers a favor and save them time and money, which is unheard of these days. Useless purchase i’ll end up selling in a yard sale to avoid the hassle of boxing this back up and returning it. I gave 2 stars because it came on time and not damaged. Doesn’t set up but you don’t count that as damaged. My business is the only damaged product.

Checks and bank drafts require printing with magnetic toner or the checks wont scan at banks or retail stores. Xerox 3260 laser printer does a great job of fusing magnetic (MICR) toner to check paper if you install a ChecksNet CheckToner MICR cartridge as a replacement for the standard non-magnetic toner cartridge that comes with the printer.

This is a great little printer if you have it plugged into your computer, but wireless on an Apple device is too tricky for me. After wasting an afternoon I gave up. The software, everything is pc based. The wonderful CentreWare Internet Services thats supposed get everything identified over the network or across devices is for pcs. Loading from Mac OSX it was pretty much a non-starter. Bonjour air printing that is on my HP inkjet was virtually plug and play. This was plug and curse!

No hesitation to buy the WiFi and Apple friendly.Phaser 3260 because of my great experience with the Phaser 3250. BUT, setup of this 3260 was a nightmare due to initialization issues and was accomplished only after hours and hours on the phone with tech support. Also, unlike the ease of the single sheet-feed on the 3250, the 3260 requires the press of a button to "refresh" it before it will grab and hold the media. This was not described in the user manual but was confirmed by tech support. Thats a step backward. Its now working over WiFi and regular printing is doing OK. Also, I kept the 3250 up and running until I felt comfortable with the 3260 and guess what? My laptop cant access the 3250 any longer due to, yes, you guessed it, initialization issues. No problem at all with the 3250 until the 3260 was finally installed. To their credit, the techs, for the most part, did their best and seemed determined to resolve the issues and one finally did as to the 3260 issue. Havent gotten back to them about the 3250 yet.
