I got this label printer to replace my old Smart Label Printer 100 that wouldnt work with Windows 8.1. I tried to find updated software for the 100 but none is available. This printer is much faster and prints better quality so I am pleased with it. The price from Amazon is reasonable also. I wish there was a way to save my label files from my old printer to the new one, but I couldnt find a way to do it, so I have to re-enter all my old addresses. If anybody knows how to get the old files and transfer them to the new printer, please comment on this review.

I have used these printers at home and in my office for years. I finally had to buy this one because the faithful old one used a printer port, and modern computers dont have such things. I had it up and running in no time. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is that Seiko technical support (who I found to be courteous and helpful, unlike the experience of one other reviewer) failed to warn me that I would need to save my old labels as a .csv file in order to moved them to this new machine. I didnt, (I saved them in the existing .sll format), my old machine was removed and scrapped before I found out, and so now I have to retrieve and retype them. .

I have other label writers, but none can compare to ease of use, speed,and quality of label. There are also features that are easily accessible, that require much time on other writers.. I would recommend this(620) to all needing a great label writer , thats easy to use.....Dr. M. Stein

I have used a Seiko label printer for many years. Rarely has a electronic device worked for so long and so well. Thus, when it finally gave up the ghost and went to printer heaven I did not hesitate to replace it with another Seiko label printer. I use this printer for more tasks that I can begin to enumerate. It works fast and I am glad I upgraded to a machine that will print the wider labels. When I upgraded it imported all the data I had saved in the previous software and I was up and running in no time.

Had a earlier model for 15 years that was used daily.Hope this one last that long! This one is much faster And has many more features in its software.

I have had a Seiko label printer since the early 90s. Finally had to upgrade to this model as my older model which still worked flawlessly was a serial cable printer only. This newer USB model is great improvement with even more options for label creating. The install was easy and smooth and loading is a lot easier than the older model. I love it.

Exactly what I was looking for. Takes different sizes of labels with sticky backs, which is great for all sorts of labelling. No need to get the newest top model. I label rubbermades with parts, wires on my boat and truck, valves in my house for water and heating. Much better than the standard label maker.

After updating to Windows 10 my otherwise sturdy and working Smart Label Printer 220 wouldnt talk with my operating system anymore. Since the old one was over 15 years old I opted to upgrade. Trying to update the label software wouldnt work. I didnt have a lot of labels so it wasnt a big deal. The hardware is solid and works just fine. The importing of old labels may be a hassle if you have a lot of old labels.

One problem is that I couldnt import my mailing list from my previous Seiko label printer. I have to re-enter everything from scratch. And the software hides where it stores the addresses Ive re-entered. The result is a steep learning curve. I will never buy another.

I bought this to print jewelry tags. I have not done a lot with this yet, but I have been very happy with my results so far. It comes with address labels and software. I bought the jewelry tags. It is easy to change labels. I am still getting use to changing text and labels on the PC. The delivery was well packed and was received timely.
